Procrastination is my middle name
We're taking the boys to the beach today, but while we're gone you can read about what I'm doing when I'm supposed to be writing here. (Where there's also the chance to win a signed copy of Della Says: OMG!)

The Gallery: Still life
This week's prompt from Tara at Sticky Fingers was Still Life.
Again, I've picked an old photograph and one that immediately popped into my mind. It was taken in our backyard in Ramsbottom, so it's five or six years old, but it reminds me of a particularly happy time in our lives. We moved to Ramsbottom when I found out I was pregnant with Harry and the flat we were living in didn't allow children.
Ramsbottom was a lovely place to live – very pretty, small and friendly – and it was also the...

Funny feeling Friday…
I'm over on Keren David's blog today, writing about sex in Della Says: OMG! Read it here and leave a comment for the chance to win a signed copy of the book.
Actually, it's not just about sex, it's also about, you know, the first time you get that funny feeling… *whispers* down there.
I actually wrote about it for Scarlet magazine a few years ago and got some great comments and feedback. Click on the pic to open the article as a PDF.
Mine was watching Marti Caine on some Saturday night show she...

Hubba
Just a quickie (*snort*) since I realised I haven't posted for a couple of days. You can find me over on Wondrous Reads talking about my top 5 teen heartthrobs, which is why I was googling Seth Cohen and found this photo, which I've been staring at, drooling, for the past ten minutes.
*drools*
Actually, I should have made this post a Wanting Wednesday…

Mousetrapped Monday
I really loved Catherine Ryan Howard's memoir Mousetrapped. It was sweet, funny, charming and inspiring. Particularly the chapter in which Ryan goes to the Kennedy Space Center. It made me cry and it made me feel like anything is possible. Much like seeing the International Space Station did. So after I'd blogged about *that*, I emailed Catherine and asked her if I could share the KSC chapter of her book on my blog. She kindly said yes. Enjoy.

The gallery: Friendship
I've seen The Gallery on lots of lovely sites and I thought I'd join in. Each week, Tara at Sticky Fingers blogs a prompt for a photo and this week's is friendship. I was going to look through my photographs until one jumped out at me, but this one jumped straight into my head and so I went with it.
It's me (obviously) and my lovely French friend Severine and it was taken in Paris in 2006 while we were waiting for Robbie Williams to come on stage. That day was a very "friendy" day too since...

Nicola Morgan – author of Wasted – on music
I'm thrilled to welcome Nicola Morgan on her Wasted blog tour. I absolutely loved Wasted and asked Nicola why she chose to make music one of the themes of the book.
(And you can find me over on Nicola's blog today.)
Over to Nicola…
Thanks, Keris, for letting me stop over here.
You asked about the part that music plays in Wasted, and quite a few people have mentioned it. For those who don't know, Jess and Jack have a band. Jess is a stunning singer, and it is her voice that Jack falls in love...

Imaginary friends
I've been worrying about Harry (5) lately since he's obsessed with what he calls his "pretend friends". He has lots, but his current favourites are the Chipmunks and Chipettes from Alvin & the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. I had imaginary friends too and I know it's supposed to be a sign of a good imagination, I just worry that Harry spends more time with them than he does his, you know, "real friends".
This morning he told me he dreamed about Brittany Chipette (left!):
You know when Alvin and...

OMG! I've got a book out! Part 2
Last week was all about parties and stalking my book in various shops. And I found it! I have now seen it in one Waterstone's and three WH Smithses. I even made a show of myself attempting to buy a copy (because I sold all my copies at my Manchester launch party last Thursday) – I was overcharged and had to go back and complain AFTER having told them it was my book. On the upside, they'll remember me. They'll remember me as a loon…
What else? The book tour continues and I'm still loving it...
