Giddiness!
The countdown has begun! Today I got the word that House of Sable Locks has entered the production phase at Audible! Which means they’ve done the casting, and now they’re recording! (At least, I think that’s what it means.)
Now, I made suggestions for the casting, (include my “If I were Queen of the Universe and money was no object casting” — Tom Hiddleston and Emma Watson.) But I don’t know who they went with (or if they went with a man or a woman, or both). So I’m just going to hold on to th...

Who’s on First?
That’s a question I’ve been asking a lot this past week. Since I finished The School, I discovered that I’d let a lot of things slide while I was working. (Like… forgetting a fundraiser for my son’s school. The event is this Friday. Guess when I sent out the “Support the school!” emails to the friends and family? That would be Monday. Oops.)
So I’m trying to get my ducks in a row, and that includes getting the writerly ducks organized, too. Because I’m about to go off-line for the summer, and...

Done.
I finished this spring’s novel. The School clocks in at just a hair under 66K words, and features someone newfor me — an asexual main character.
Needless to say, I will be having people reading this to make sure I did it right.
In the meantime, I have two and a half weeks of school left. What am I going to do with myself???
(I know. I know. Editing!!!)

An eventful day!
First, I found this fantastic review of both House of Sable Locks and Tales from the Arena: Opening Gambit. I particularly like the reference to the House as “a… Victorian BDSM Disneyland.”
Then… I found out that House of Sable Locks is a finalist for Best Bisexual Erotica in the Bisexual Book Awards!
(Is it petty for my second reaction to be “Take that, RITAs!” Second reaction because my first was “Holy crap, I finalled!”)

Wow. Just… wow. I hadn’t heard ANYTHING about this. Sometimes, Googling yourself pays off!

Writer, on writing
I apparently wrote this list up in 2009, and found it when I took a look at a long-defunct blog of mine. It still holds true (there was MUCH MORE to the flashback chapters of House of Sable Locks. Be thankful for the chainsaw.)

Signed, Sealed, Delivered…
Today is a wonderful day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I just was informed that the signed contract has arrived atCirclet Press.
Wait, what signed contract?
I am pleased, proud, awed, and still more than a little gobsmacked, to announce that the audio rights to House of Sable Locks have been acquired by Audible.com.
Yep. I’m going to have an audiobook.
Now, I’ve never done this before. So I know NOTHING about the process. This is going to be a learning experience for me, and I’l...
