Transgender superheroes

The things you think of while making breakfast

1. Huh transgender superheroes. Are there any? I cant think of any, but that doesnt mean there arent. I just dont know any.

2. That would be a cool story-line. Big, famous male superhero, beloved by millions around the world, announces that theyre transitioning. Theyll still be a superhero, but now theyll be doing it as the woman theyve always been inside.

3. The first big battle between her and her arch-enemy, the arch-enemy realizes that while...

Wanna actually meet me?

Head to Maitland, Florida in September! I’ll be appearing as an author guest at theSpeculative Fiction: Southeast convention!

This is going to be fun! The last time I was a writer guest at a con, it was at Gencon in 2004! I’m very much looking forward to seeing Jacqueline Carey again.

Wow.

One of these days, someone is going to pinch me, and I’m going to wake up. Because I simply cannot believe that I get to live this life. I mean, I must have been extra special good the last time around orsomething to deserve this! First, we have House of Sable Locks being named a modern erotic classic. And now, this just happened:

You mean me???

Today was the third grade field trip. 120 8-and-9-year-old kids went to Legoland, and I had charge of two eight-year-old boys all day (one mine, one borrowed). Really, we had a BLAST. The Legend of Chima ride involves waterguns, and many truth in advertising warnings that you WILL get soaked. The Dragon roller coaster wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be — roller coasters and I don’t get along, but this one was actually fun. Lots of rides, lots of walking, lots and LOTS of Legos, 120...

PErsephone

In ancient times, when the Gods walked the world, the God of the Underworld kidnapped a girl named Persephone. He carried her off to the Realm of the Dead and through trickery, forced her to remain with him and become his Queen.

Everyone knows the story.

Or do they?

From Pagan Writers Press.

Focus? What’s that?

So, today, my husband and I were on our way to lunch. We’re sitting at a red light, waiting for the light to change.

WHAM!

We were rear-ended by the car behind us, and the woman who looked old enough to be God’s grandmother. She let her foot off the brake and rolled into us.

Cops were called. Information was exchanged. Tickets were issued — to God’s Granny, who was solely at fault. Insurance was called. For a fender bender, it’s a relatively innocuous one — the damage to my car is minor enough t...

New Year, New Novel!

Okay. Today’s the day.

The kiddo is back to school, the husband is back to work. I have a synopsis and everything is set in Scrivener. Look, I’m going to write the thing!

Hey… wait… what do you mean it’s 2:30???? But… I onlywrote five words!

Sigh…

I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to work.
