Another excerpt from Princes…
The countdown is ticking away. Here's another bit to whet your appetites:
Excerpt from Raven Boy, part one of Princes of Air, coming 11/1/11 from Circlet Press.
*****
My name is Niall. I am called Niall Gobha, Niall the smith, and I am the youngest of the Raven Boys, having seen only nineteen summers come and go. Youngest and most foolish, I admit that now. I'm told that there are others like my brothers and me, other children of foreign gods, who also wear their seemings in their skins, and...

Excerpt: Princes of Air
Princes of Air comes out in 11/1/11 (I love that date — of course, I'm slow and I JUST realized I have a binary release date yesterday…) So, I have three weeks to tease you all do promotion. So, I thought I'd start you all off with the prologue. Here's a taste of what's to come!

In ages past, the gods and goddesses of ancient Eire walked the wide world, dallying with mortals and meddling in their affairs, causing wars and ending them, making alliances and breaking them, playing fidchell

The Night To-Do List
And you can read that as either The Night Kitchen or The Night Circus (which I am very eager to read, but has to wait until I finish The Magician King. And yes, Catherine Valente was right when she said the Quentin still needed to be smacked out of the book. I do like Julia, though.)
Heart's Master is humming along nicely. I did almost 7000 words last week (6,999), which is good because I fell over with the flu Friday afternoon, and didn't write a blessed word yesterday. I tried to take a...

This is the official release date from Circlet!
PRINCES OF AIR by Elizabeth Schechter–November 1st
The Raven-Goddess Morrigan has nine sons, ravens, each granted two gifts: the ability to shift to human form, and the recognition of their soulmates. But, even for demi-gods, the path to true love is far from smooth. The brothers have drawn the attention of a family of powerful mages who will stop at nothing to gain power. Each brother will be forced to make sacrifices to keep...

Sign my book?
So, almost all of my publishing credits to date have been in ebooks. Which makes it kind of hard to sign the book. I've heard of some enterprising readers who have people sign the removable covers for their e-readers, and then display the covers.
But now, there's Kindlegraph. I just signed up today as an author. For readers, you can sign up, and search the database for the book you want signed. If it is there, you can request an autograph. Once the author gets the request, they can digitally ...

Speechless…
Orson Scott Card is a fine writer. I used to be a big fan of his, one of the people in the "WHERE IS THE NEXT ALVIN MAKER BOOK???" camp (and then he wrote it, and I wish he'd waited a little longer. But that is neither here nor there…)
Used to be. That's the operative phrase.
These days, I wouldn't buy an Orson Scott Card book if you held a gun to my head. Because I won't put my coin in the pocket of a rampant homophobic who has gone on the record as saying that homosexuals should not have...

The Muse has spoken…
One persnickity Muse, in particular. Who has let me know in no uncertain terms that Drum Mage isn't a good title anymore, and that the title of this book is now Heart's Master. Which I have to admit is more appropriate.
