Notes from Facebook Jail
Yep, I am back in Facebook jail. This time, it is only for 24 hours. Not a bad stretch for parole violation. Some of you know, that I do Author Take Overs on Facebook. It is my best marketing tool. I get to talk about my books but more importantly I get to meet readers, current and new. Along with writers and discover some great books.
However, being an erotica writer subjects you to the FB police, and they can shut you down without notice. Yesterday I was at an event, posting teasers and links as I usually do and near the end, I was kicked off. The notice said violated FB guidelines, nothing specific, and it would be for 24 hours.
So I can’t send or respond to messages, like anything. Some people howl censorship and find it unfair. I don’t like it either even though I understand FB point. They can’t control who accesses their site, and what they see. What does make me wonder why me? I am only one of hundreds of erotica authors.
A good writer friend advised me once; it might not be FB at all. It could be a reader or writer that doesn’t like you and tattles to FB. Maybe. But for me, I carry it as a badge of honor. So until later today, if I don’t respond on FB don’t worry I will survive on bread and water.
The other news is that I have decided to change my decision. I will put aside the non-Dark Desire story and write book five that will lead to a book six. The title of book five is Facade’s Soul of Darkness. I have outlined it, started writing it and probably be out first of October.
The reason behind my going forward is that Jocelyn’s story isn’t finished. She faces a new battle. It’s not Devin, nor her flaws. But a battle of heart versus lust. I couldn’t in good conscience let it linger till the fall. So onward we go.
The other big news is that I have released a box set of Dark Desire Series, all four books. It retails for $2.99. It is available at all retailers: Amazon https://amzn.com/B01KISQVF6
As other books are published, I will add them to the box set.
This Saturday on the 20th, at 4:00 pm I will be hosting for an hour at an FB Authors Take Over. It will be K.L. Humphrey’s Deadly Hunt Release party. So come by. Here is the link https://www.facebook.com/events/28253...
That is it for this week. Thanks again for all your support!

Can't a girl catch a break?

Dark erotica goes undercover
I’ve been on a hiatus of late, not due to motivation issues or whatnot. Where I live we only have 90 days of summer. So the pull of the outdoors takes over and writing/blogging gets pushed to the dusty corner.
I know it’s early August but the time of sun worshipping, working in the yard and camping are coming to an end. So with that, back to what I love best: writing and blogging.
I titled today’s entry “Dark erotica goes undercover” and I will get to that in a few minutes. But first got a couple of items to share in regards to the Dark Desire Series.
First off, Facade’s Surrender (third book in the series) has been nominated for best erotica by the Summer Indie Book Awards. Voting begins on September 1st and runs through the tenth. I am honored and of course, if you liked the book, please vote.
Here is the link to their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/events/928802120599663/
Facade’s Surrender had been banned by Amazon, but lo and behold they took it off recently. So if you haven’t read it here is the Amazon link: https://amzn.com/B01JUS79WO and like the other three books it’s 99 cents.
The next piece of news is that the fourth book in the series, Facade’s Salvation is now available at Amazon. I will admit I really enjoyed writing this one. It took me a while to find the flow, but once I got going I couldn’t stop. The interesting thing that readers have shared with me is they liked Jocelyn finally having some romance. If you are into heavy dark BDSM, psychological fuckery and interracial you will enjoy it.
The Amazon link is https://amzn.com/B01JUS78XE T 99 cents and it’s at Barnes & Noble along with Smashwords.
This leads us to where is the series headed? I have the fifth story in my head but I am going to take a break and write something different. This is where the title of this post comes in.
I’ve always been a huge crime reader fan. Tess Gerritsen is one of my favorites. To that point. I am going to be writing an erotica crime book. I don’t want to say novel for not sure how long it will be, but it will still be female-centric. A woman faced with her past, betrayal and how her sexual appetite can be a blessing or possibly her undoing.
The working title is Running Blind, and she will be undercover looking for a killer in a gang environment. So lot’s of Alpha males and truly deviant sex scenes. Here is a cover mock up, for promo purposes only.
Once that is done, thinking early October. Then I will return to Jocelyn’s adventures.
That is it for this week. Thank you all for reading my books, your reviews and input on Facebook. It is truly appreciated.

Dark Desire Series, is there light at the end?
I want to start this entry with an apology. I have been a bit out of pattern with my post and that is due to summer being here in the Canadian Rockies. We only get 90 days of true summer so we have to take full advantage of it. So from here until September my post will be haphazard.
The fourth book in the Dark Desire Series, Facade’s Salvation is finished and I am starting edits and rewrites. The release on Smashwords is July 23rd. I chose that date due to my heading off camping for two weeks. I had intended to start the fifth book, and change the point of view to Johari but after some thought, I’m going to take a breather.
It’s not that I am bored with writing the series but book 4 ends at a good place. The other issue is when I re-released Unveiling Facade, I had intended to write a different story. That got pushed back due to the popularity of the story and you readers wanting more.
So while summer will make my time more irregular, I thought this would be a good time to write a different story. The theme will remain the same, the flawed female, thrown in a situation where she finds comfort in dark erotica will be continued. I will probably target September for release.
If you’re looking for a good read in the more classical BDSM genre, I recommend Drew Sera’s, “Fragile”. It’s a complex story of three people, two Doms, and a “broken” sub. The story gives a solid view of the BDSM lifestyle and an in-depth relationship in how Doms interact with submissives. The sex is sublime and Drew builds it realistically. Here is the link https://amzn.com/B018PX4X9C
Now I am back to reading Amiya Powell’s “The the Rabbit Hole.” Here is the blurb from GoodReads: (here is the Amazon link https://amzn.com/B01BKYY2P8 )
“The young and precocious Alexia has spent two years battling for survival on the streets of New York City, where rabid predators lurk at every turn. Dabbling in everything from drugs to prostitution, she is a lost soul, wandering the urban wilderness for a place to belong. The only thing that can save her from a downward spiral of self-destruction is to know someone cares. Anyone. Her fortunes seem to take a turn for the better, but she soon learns that the opportunity of a lifetime comes with a hefty price tag. With the help of a feisty elderly woman, a dominatrix with a troubled past, and a cross-dressing millionaire, Alexia embarks on a journey that will force her to question who she is and who she wants to be, but she may never be able to escape the rabbit hole.
Ever since Ming was recruited by an underground organization that leases women to the wealthy, her sister YiYi hasn’t heard a word from her. The authorities have no interest in another missing hooker, so it is up to YiYi to find her. A savant with a gift for puzzles, YiYi is suddenly plagued by bizarre visions that put her skills and sanity to the ultimate test. In a scheme to rescue her sister, she takes advantage of the desperate and trusting Alexia, leading them both into a bizarre web of secrets with unimaginable consequences.
Nothing is as it seems in this twisted tale of sex, power, and conspiracy theory. Unpredictable, provocative, and surprisingly human, The Rabbit Hole will keep you guessing until the very last chapter. The characters leap from the pages and demand to be heard. This is life and erotica at its best, and will leave you breathlessly begging for an encore.”
Currently “The Rabbit Hole” ranks 548 out of 5900 titles in the Erotica/Mystery category. Congrats Amiya!
As most know I do a lot of Author Take Overs on Facebook. This week I have nothing scheduled but on July 16th I will be participating at Carnival of Darkness (fitting title lol) and here is the link https://www.facebook.com/events/87690... I will be on at 4:30 p.m. EST so come by and say hello.
One last note, several of you are waiting for bookmarks. I apologize my new supplier has been extremely slow and missed two delivery dates. I will be looking for a new supplier. They should be in shortly.

A shining light in the darkness has gone
I took last week off from writing and blogging. My heart wasn’t in it. Early last week, the erotica writers field lost a good friend in the passing of John Tucker. I hadn’t known John long but in that brief time, he was supportive and kind. He offered to help fight Amazon when they banned Facade’s Surrender. He provided me with a time slot in his last Take Over. One of the best Take Over’s I’ve ever been in.
Looking back now, it seems surreal. For on June 3rd, in a group email in the morning, he said he wasn’t feeling well and due to previous heart issues he thought he should go to the emergency room. Ten days later he was gone. John helped a lot of us, wrote his own books and will leave an indelible mark in the erotica venue within Facebook.
Here is John Tucker Author page at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/John-Tucker/e/B...
This Wednesday there will be a Take Over in John Tucker’s honor. DTHE-Last Call. I will be closing the event, going on at 12:30 a.m. EST. There will be a great lineup of authors and here is the link https://www.facebook.com/events/16444...
To other news, Facade’s Surrender, the third book in the Dark Desire series is #4 in the Best Seller category for Erotica/99cents/20,000 words or less category. Unveiling Facade, the first book in the series, weighs in at #7.

Book two, Facade’s Retribution is still at Amazon and available in the KindleUnlimited program until the end of July. Amazon link: https://amzn.com/B01EYSPXNC
I have finished book four, and currently, it is untitled. How do I come up with my titles? I leave it to my beta reader. I only use one. She is well versed in the genre and is also in the BDSM lifestyle. This week she will be reading the rough draft and will tell me what the title should be.
I wanted to share the new release the new release of my friend, Penelope Marshall’s new book. Rosaline: Vampire/Werewolf Forbidden Love Book 1. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01GXGOJN8 and on Kindle Unlimited.

Letter from Amazon prison
Normally I blog on Tuesday’s about a topic and then Thursday’s is an author interview. Last Thursday, that got scuttled and I posted about “Banned is the new Black”. The reading of that entry was so overwhelming I let it run for an entire week.
Thank you all for reading it, the likes and comments. Even had two re-blogs which are humbling. During this process, I’ve had several emails, private messages asking me how I was faring in Amazon lock up. So today, I will share what is going on and what I might be doing going forward.
The first thing I want to thank all my readers and author friends for your support, input and even guidance. Even July Cumming tried to smuggle a file in so I could escape, lol. Just kidding, July and Kat Crimson have been instrumental in giving me guidance in dealing with my jailors.
As of today, here is what is happening. I have decided to leave Unveiling Facade (Book One) and Facade’s Retribution (Book Two) at Amazon. Unveiling Facade is no longer part of KU (KindleUnlimited) and Facade’s Retribution will be leaving KU at the end of July.
I will honor my commitment to KU with Facade’s Retribution and not unpublish it to move it. When Facade’s Retribution leaves KU, it will stay at Amazon but also be listed at Smashwords.
That is my segue to Smashwords. I have had some ask me what is Smashwords. Smashwords is a site that sells books much like Amazon. They also are a distributor to other book platforms like Apple’s iBook, Nook, Kobo, and Inktera.
This allows my books to have a broader reach and allows the readers greater choice in how they want to read their books. Smashwords offers the books in Mobi (kindle), epub, pdf, and other formats.
Currently, Unveiling Facade and Facade’s Surrender (Book Three) are available on Smashwords. Facade’s Surrender is also listed at Inktera and Nook (Barnes & Noble). In August, Book Two, Facade’s Retribution will be listed at https://www.smashwords.com/.
All future books in the Dark Desire series will be at Smashwords.
The question that I have to answer for myself is do I list future books with Amazon? Or do I move on? Plenty of time to ponder that. On other news, Book Four, still untitled will be finished this weekend. If all goes well with edits/re-writes, I expect to release it in early July.
Also, there is a new trailer that covers Book 3 and Book 4. My Trailers are more Series focused than individual books.
One more thing, I will be involved with two Author Take Overs at Facebook this weekend so if you are available at my times to come on by that would be great.
The first Take Over is the Cover Reveal for C.R. Lemons and I am last at 11 p.m. EST Saturday, https://www.facebook.com/events/170121110051812/
On Sunday, I am at V. Kelly’s Next Release Cover Reveal at 10:30 a.m. EST, https://www.facebook.com/events/86811...
Next week the blog will be back to normal. If all goes right, we should have an interview with the hot and steamy Jeanna Pride. Thanks for reading and you haven’t done so please check out my fan page at FB https://www.facebook.com/midnightdrea...

Banned is the new Black, Amazon targets erotica!
It was once thought if Amazon banned your book due to content you were doomed. Today? It is the new Black and brings you a level of notoriety. Recently, Nikki Sloane, a highly regarded dark romance author, found herself on the Amazon censorship death bed. Her new book, Sordid, was uploaded to Amazon on a pre-order basis. Her fans were placing orders and waiting for her much-anticipated release.
Then out of the clear blue, Amazon banned it due to content. No explanation what was wrong with it. Cancelled all her pre-orders and left her standing embarrassed, angry and hurt. It’s not the first time Amazon has gone after erotica writers, my friend July Cumming, is in a constant fight with Amazon over her books.
I’m not bashing Amazon per se. Their content guidelines are vague enough they could ban the Bible if they chose. It’s their business and can run it as they like. The annoyance is the inconsistency of it all. Anyone of us can go look at titles listed in the erotica section, and your hair would be standing on end! That inconsistency brings a feeling of unreliability in Amazon. Amazon has already been attacking reviews and now censorship adds to their unreliability as a distributor and fostering goodwill with authors.
The reality of it is, that anyone of us could become victims of Amazon’s draconian view of what is unacceptable. To that point, I too now join Nikki Sloane in being banned. My third book, Facade’s Surrender, was uploaded on a pre-order basis. Amazon cleared it and orders were being taken. Then yesterday they banned it due to unspecified content violations. All pre-orders were cancelled (notices were sent out) and left me scrambling to get the word out to readers. Like Nikki, I was embarrassed for Amazon gave me no prior notice or a chance to react. Simply censored and banned.
My biggest worry was for the readers, and it made so happy to find out they were incensed by the censorship and were behind me 100%. I thank all of you for your support, it means a great deal to me. What’s next? Book One, Unveiling Facade, is on Smashwords. Book Two, Facade’s Retribution, is not on Smashwords. It is part of Kindle Unlimited until the end of July. I could unpublish it from Amazon but then I might never be allowed to put it back on Amazon. So undecided what to do with that title. Book 3, Facades’s Surrender, will be on Smashwords this weekend for immediate release.
The nice thing about Smashwords is that they will distribute to other platforms. So you will find my titles at Kobo and iBooks for example. For now books one and two will stay on Amazon, however, later I may abandon Amazon entirely. I am leaving them there out of convenience to you the readers.
Out of all this, I have discovered how wonderful you the readers are, a new found notoriety and how nice I look wearing black!

Facade’s journey into the darkest desires.
Today’s post is for those readers that are not really familiar with my stories. If you are a continuing reader of this blog, some of this will be redundant, but I wanted one post as a complete overview.
Currently, I have two books available in the Dark Desire series. The first one, Unveiling Facade, I wrote in 2009, as a standalone short story. At the urging of some readers, I re-published it on Amazon Kindle (also on KindleUnlimited).
The goal was to write other stories but readers wrote me and wanted/encouraged me to write more. They wanted to know what happened to Jocelyn. That led to the second book, Facade’s Retribution. These two books gave birth to the Dark Desire series.
Book three will be released on June 11th. It is currently available on a pre-order basis at a promo price of a $1.99. That leads to a fourth book, which is being written currently. I expect to release it sometime in July. A book five is being planned, but I will change the Point-of-View to Johari.
I believe each character that has supported Jocelyn’s has their own story to tell. This will give air to the Dark Desire series to experience a wider range of taboo and kinky story lines.
Here is an excerpt from book 3, Facade’s Surrender.
“She laid on the table panting, soaked in sweat and cum. Jocelyn lifted her head and there were two men right before with gorged unused cocks. She didn’t hold back the wicked grin. Both were handsome men, swarthy and dark. She took them to be middle eastern. Long hair, menacing dark eyes, with bodies well sculpted. They weren’t as big, but their cocks were gorgeous.
They gave her no time to react, both men dove at her. She laughed as their hands grappled with her body. One laid out over the table, his cock rose like a spear, she wanted to suck it but they had other plans. Strong hands lifted her up and put her ass onto the man laying beneath her. The other man stood before her, his eyes raked her body with such obvious lust, Jocelyn almost came on the spot.
She had an idea what they wanted, and she was crazed with lust. Rising off the one man, straddling his cock, while fingers wrapped to it. His moans deepened as she stroked it, pulling the head to caress her puckered dark star. She stared at the other man, cocking her leaking pussy at him. The man below got the hint and his strong fingers pulled down on her hips. Jocelyn freed his prick and let him impale her ass.
Her cries echoed over the room, she held nothing back when his thick shaft filled her ass. She trembled, spasm’s roamed through her body. Jocelyn was out of control with this dark burning need. She leaned back, spreading her legs, hooking her heels to the edge of the table. One of them crawled on top of her. Her arms wrapped to his neck. Her pussy swollen from the early abuse, dripped with anticipation of being fucked again.
When he planted that cock into her, she moaned wildly. Two cocks filled her, they rubbed together like fire sticks and she wasted no time bursting into flames. The both found that rhythm, cocks fucking her in unison. Hands from underneath grabbed at her tits, squeezing them viciously, tearing at her nipples. The other man focused on fucking her hard. Each thrust rode deep into her. His crown punched at her core, bringing a heightened pleasure to race through her.
Jocelyn floated to the double hammering of cocks. Eyes rolled to the back of her head, letting every sensation of fingers, cocks take hold of her depraved psyche. She fucked back hard, the need to cum again roiled within her. Jocelyn found her deviant heaven, nothing held back. Her cries and begging for more filled the room. The men grunted like beasts, sweat flushed over their bodies as the pace quickened.
A finger found her clit, she had no idea who it was, it didn’t matter. She screamed to the heavens when that thick coarse digit raked ruthlessly over her shivering pearl. The cocks fucked her holes with a frenzy, Jocelyn no longer cared. Burning sensations ripped across her, stars blinked across her eyes and that throbbing rush crashed down between legs. She blew apart, shattered into a thousand shards of lust. Her body quaked and shuddered.”
