A White Christmas comes to Dark Desire
I want to start this post today, with a heartfelt, Merry Christmas!
May the day be wonderful, full of joy with family and friends. For those that might be alone, don’t despair, I have spent several alone and found the solitude to be a welcome visitor. Going to share one of my favorite Christmas Songs.
For me, the big day will be Saturday for most in the family have to work Christmas Day. It will be a white Christmas, as they are predicting snow. We already have a few inches on the ground. So up here in the Canadian Rockies, it has that holiday look!
The rest of the post will be items that have occurred through the week, that I want to share with you. Next week will the dreaded New Year Resolutions post for what I hope to accomplish in 2017.
But right now let’s focus on the week that almost was since we have a few days left.
First, I posted on my fan page a recap of the author interviews we did here on this blog. Here is the link, https://www.facebook.com/midnightdream2016/ It is the pinned post. I apologize for having to post the entire link. It appears the link took on WordPress is hinky and does not always work.
A couple of weeks ago, I asked you readers in what direction I should go with my next story. Several of you weighed in and the bottom line was you were all in favor in me writing what I wanted to write. I had started my undercover cop story before getting ill and decided to re-read it to see if it had any legs. It is only 3000 words and still rough draft stage, but I liked it. It got me all fired up to write it.
I had another writer who I respect greatly, who writes this genre to take a peek and she liked it. That was it for me. So going forward I will be writing Running Blind.
However, I am going to do something different. I am going to be posting it on Wattpad. I have never done it before, but if you want to read along please do so. Here is the link, https://www.wattpad.com/297782833-running-blind-trapped-part-one.
I have also set up a Pinterest account. I am still figuring it out but you can see some of my interest there. Yes, I am into ink. I have several tattoos and find the art to be exciting and erotic. Here is my link, https://www.pinterest.com/facade1250/erotic-tattoos/
I often get asked what am I reading. If you are on GoodReads you might catch my updates, but right now I am reading Unorthodox Therapy by Lilah Noir. Amazon link, http://a.co/fXlbaL2
That is it for this week, remember next week will be Resolutions, ugh!

Interview with the knotting Mystk Knight
We are truly fortunate to have a newcomer with us, Mystk Knight. She has taken the BDSM world by storm with her new book, Rigger – Book One – The Trial. Earlier this weed I post my review of the book, but here is another review from K’s Kinky and Classy Books.
I read this last night and was amazed, but not surprised, at how talented a writer Mystk Knight is. She is so descriptive. When she was describing the inside of the mansion, I imagined running my hands across everything as she was describing it. And when she was with Sir, I could feel and sense every rope being tied, every emotion being played out. I wish there were more. I want to see where it goes from here.
Rigger will live and play in my head and imagination for a long time. The book is so well described that I can still physically picture it in my mind.
This is Mystk Knight’s debut novella. If Rigger is any indication of this author’s talent. Watch out book world, she has arrived.
Now for the interview, the links to the book is above and stalking information will be at the end.

What would you say inspired you to write Rigger?
I became interested in Shibari after I discovered the work of a rope master by the name of Garth Knight (no relation). His rope work is, I would say, second to none. It’s artistic, strong, beautiful, imaginative and unique. He became the muse for my lead male character in Rigger for those reasons.
Give us some insight to your main character. What makes her unique?
My female lead, at this point in the trilogy, remains nameless. She is unique in that she is trained in the Gor lifestyle yet is, at least inwardly, in control of her own destiny. She’s a bit of a mystery in the first book, as is my male lead. I’ve received some criticism for her lack of emotion but I wrote her character that way with purpose. More of their individual stories will be revealed in books two and three of the trilogy.
A Shibari Master is interesting. Tell us what motivated you to go in that direction versus the more traditional route of Masters.
I would say it’s my fascination with Garth’s style of rope play and the stories he creates in his work. There are other rope masters, of course, who create some very beautiful work, but very few of them use colour or rock or multiple subjects or any combination thereof, in their work as Garth does. The traditional Master/sub story has been told in so many different ways, and told so very well in a lot of cases, that I wanted to investigate a slightly different approach to the concept of domination/submission.
How much research do you do? Also, any practical experience that translates into your story?
My research was limited to browsing the internet and reading a plethora articles about various rope masters and their work, their subjects, the process of choosing, conditioning and preparing ropes for use and learning about aftercare. Most other information I have gleaned from reading other authors’ work over the past year or so. And no, I have no practical experience with Shibari, Gor or the BDSM lifestyle. At all.
What is the biggest thing that people THINK they know about your genre, that isn’t so?
The idea that those of us within the genre write pornographic material with no redeeming value in it other than gratuitous sex. Also, the perception that the BDSM lifestyle is “abnormal” and one consisting only of control and abuse. You’ve likely heard people spouting those misconceptions yourself.
Do you work to an outline or plot or do you write by the seat of your pants?
I am a pantser (one who writes off the cuff) not a plotter, so my stories tend to take on a life of their own. I’m most often left feeling as though I’m a conduit for the words – a passenger along for the ride.
If you could collaborate with any other Author, who would it be?
If I could collaborate with any other Author? Hmmm, that’s a difficult one. At this point, working with any bestselling fiction author and learning more about the craft of writing from them would be an incredible gift. The entire process has been one huge uphill learning curve for me and, while I possess a fairly strong understanding of the English language and grammar, I’m reminded every day just how little I know about the actual craft of writing a novel.
What are your favorite books to read?
Obviously, I love reading anything and everything in the erotica genre; it’s become a passion. But prior to beginning to write in the genre, I read science fiction fantasy predominately. I also read crime drama, action adventure and mysteries.
What is the hardest thing about writing?
For me, the discipline of writing is most difficult. I am a world class procrastinator and not just where writing is concerned. I spend far more time thinking about writing than I actually spend writing and, while that’s definitely part of the process, I’d like to find a little more balance between the two.
What advice would you give to aspiring writer’s.
Easy. If you’re getting into the writing game to earn fame or fortune, don’t bother. Either write for the love of the craft or don’t do it at all.

Where did the Desire for Darkness go?
It has been over three months since my last entry. I appreciate everyone that has looked in, bought my books and stayed with me over this time. I have made a few post on FaceBook what was happening, but for those that don’t follow me there but here, this is what was going on.
Since late September I was ill with what started out as a small thing. Over two months it became a bigger thing. Not life threatening but seriously put me out of action. I am better now, nothing should be reoccurring, so that is good.
The downside is that I have not written anything, read anything and ignored social media too. Since I had that time away, that energy streak for the Dark Desire series has been broken at book 5. I had intended and even started it but not sure anymore. That old expression of getting some distance did the trick, unfortunately.
So the challenge I face is do I get my head back into Jocelyn’s pain slut lust or do I dive into something new? I have intriguing ideas for different stories, still depraved but new directions or a direction.
That is where you the readers/fans/followers come in. I need your help. (I can’t find the poll feature so just leave a message her under comments)
Continue the Dark Desire Series.
Story idea #1: Female cop forced to go undercover, due to a mishap with her dead partner. The problem is the gang she is to go undercover was a gang she hung out when she was younger. She also discovers who murdered her deceased partner (and lover), but in doing so, she gets tangled up with the gang and a new love who is not who she thinks he is.
Story idea #2: Historical Fiction, going back to the Belle Epoch era (late Victorian to Edwardian era’s). A paranormal mystery. A nun found dead at the Carnac Stones in France. Investigators learn she was a satanic priestess who converted priest and nuns to a hedonistic lifestyle. But who they entertained were some of the most elite of France and England. (Still a WIP on the story line, but this is the gist of it).
So those are the options, and I am open to ideas too! Post your vote or idea as a comment here or mail me at facade1250@gmail.com
Update: Book one, Unveiling Facade is free at Smashwords. Here is the link Unveiling Facade
If you read it thank you and Book two, Facade’s Retribution, is available for 99 cents at Smashwords It is also available at Amazon for the same price.
Last item: The four book series is on sale until the year end. Regular price $2.99 now $1.50 using coupon code: JT64E at Smashwords
Next week we will have an interview with a new BDSM writer, Mystk Knight. She has published her first book, a short story called Rigger Book One – The Trial

Voting starts on September 1st and ends on the 10th.
Here is the link to the event: https://www.facebook.com/summerindieb...
Now onto what is happening with the Dark Desire Series. Last week I mentioned the release of a box set of all four books in the Series. Along with that, I decided to continue the series with at least two books. So here is a quick synopsis of the books coming.
So with Facade’s Soul of Darkness, Jocelyn will be faced with a new set of circumstances that will challenge her. Instead of Devin, it will be two different men that tear at her. The challenge is what becomes more important to her, love or living as a pain slut. Can she have both, or will the men force her to choose? The story will lighten up on the intensity from books three and four (call it a breather of sorts) but will be loaded with hot scenes of sex and BDSM play.
Book six, doesn’t have a title and will shift a bit. Not long ago, I did a poll on who, you the reader would like to see besides Jocelyn. There was no clear winner. I do get asked by readers about Beth. If your read book three, Facade’s Surrender, you know Beth had a rough go of it. I decided to bring Beth back and the focus will be on her with Jocelyn taking a supportive role, but an important one.
I expect both books will be out before the holidays.
If you are interested in the box set here is where you can find it for $2.99
If you like dark erotica, that has non-consent capture, humiliation with twisted BDSM overtones, then the Dark Desire series is for you.
