#TVD teaser puppets! Guess who WE ARE?

Ready yourselves for the debut of fellow author Bree Despain's and my "response" to the Vampire Diaries finale Monday via Smart Pop Books (VISITOR'S GUIDE TO MYSTIC FALLS.)

We get creative. And campy. That's how we roll. Let's hope another way we roll is through an actual video. That's the plan anyway! Okay, I've said enough. Stay tuned!

Now we can only hope these guys don't stake us in our sleep…

:P

Likeness? Come on, humor me and say yes.

Love's Philosophy

dancemetothestars:

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In another's being mingle—
Why not I with thine?

See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;—
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?

1.5 hours to go...

But whilst we wait, a dash from the past:

[Holds out her necklace
[about to take necklace but Damon pulls away
[Kisses her on her forehead
[Compells her

I love you

Movie Review-I finally saw a film I've eagerly anticipated since it first popped onto my radar. Water for Elephants is the story of a young vet student who loses his parents to a car accident and ends quitting school (Cornell) and walking out of town on the railroad tracks. Set in the Great Depression, with little to no jobs available, young Pattinson ends up joining a sketchy circus run by a psychotic control freak with massive anger issues, and falling for his fragile, glamorous wife.

The animals in this film, particularly the elephant who Pattinson adored on set, are the heart of the film. The believable connection the romantic leads make is first through their mutual connection and sensitivity to these complicated animals, which makes the abuse of said animals at the hands of the before mentioned psychotic control freak even harder to bare even as the leads grow closer because of it.

Meeting cute: Rosie the Elephant and Jacob

I'm normally not the hugest Reese Witherspoon fan, but she did a compelling job of portraying a loyal, if not exceedingly happy, wife, and Pattinson shone as the endearing, lovestruck young veterinarian trying his best to do the right thing in a topsy-turvy  world.

Highly recommend!

Post-Twilight leading man, Pattinson nails it (even without the sparkles).

So...remember the Little Cell Phone That Could?

Today she fell off the rail of our porch and shattered.

48 hours on top of an SUV? No problem.

A minute on a 3-foot-high rail?

SPLAT.

Think they'll let me trade her in for an iPhone…she asks hopefully…

The Little Cell Phone That Could!

My cell phone had been missing since yesterday afternoon.

We'd searched all over the house.

Followed daughter on her, "I think I hid it HERE," wild goose chase to no avail.

Used the landline to call my number in the car.

Nothing.

I spent the morning working really hard (shh, actually getting a pedicure for Daughter's birthday party and Mother's Day) and grocery shopping

pedicure

all SANS CELLPHONE AND CONTACT WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD.

LOST

This is freaky. No one knows where I am. I'm utterly out of contact with the outside world. How did I live like this in the 90's??

I was JUST about to contact Verizon and ask them to cancel my number when I truly retraced my last-time-I'd seen-it steps. As I was about to unbuckle sleeping daughter from her car seat I glanced up: voila! Shiny Blackberry camoflauged, sideways, into the roof rack. Where I left it yesterday afternoon. When I was getting her out of her car seat.

Maybe I shoulda listened to my husband this morning when he asked, "Have you checked the roof? You're always sticking things up there."

"No…" I said, shaking my head in disbelief. "If I had done that, it'd be long gone by now!"

Oh me of little faith, right?

Not anymore. Sometimes the universe is kind.
