Eww! Are they brother and sister??

So we have Witch’s Brew chapters up on Wattpad and comments come in from our many readers (almost 500 thousand to date!)

Today I saw this one. I find it fantastic.

comment on the following section of Chapter 3: Children of Darkness & Light

Logan guessed it was also why a teenager like himself could breathe underwater, a skill no other warlock in modern times possessed.

READER -> Eww! Are they brother and sister…

Ha! I guess you’ll have to wait and find out.

BEAUTIFUL MONSTER, SPELLSPINNERS #4, is coming this Fall!

Our Demon Playthings.

Look what author Tiffany Trent stumbled upon:

Hey Heidi—Did you know you were quoted on Free Will Astrology?
Scorpio (http://www.freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/)

"We are all searching for someone whose demons play well with ours," writes novelist Heidi R. Kling. That’s good advice for you to keep in mind these days, Scorpio. Those little imps and rascals that live within you may get you into bad trouble if they feel bored. But if you arrange for them to have play dates with the imps and rascals of people you trust, they are far more likely to get you into good trouble. They may even provide you with bits of gritty inspiration. What’s that you say? You don’t have any demons? Not true. Everyone has them."

This is especially timely as I received (excellent) notes from editor and publisher today on the fourth installment of The Spellspinners of Melas County, BEAUTIFUL MONSTER this morning. BEAUTIFUL MONSTER is all about discovering the demon within. Or denying her. Or smothering her, or chasing her, depending on your POV, of course. Thanks for the find, Tiffany! As a lover of astrology, I’m tickled they used one of my quotes and for a Scorpio no less. I know not his birthday, but I’m pretty sure the late great Damon Salvatore is a Scorpio. And our Jude, too. ;)

Goodbye, Damon.

Even though logically I know they *must* bring him back. I mean Damon is the heart of the show, blah, blah, blah—that was simple shocking. The emotional truth of Nina’s tears made me sob my brains out. You did it again, Julie Plec, you master of pain, you. Bonus: Alaric! Plus, the handholding scene between Bonnie and Damon, who’ve always had an intriguing mutual respect, did me in. IS IT FALL YET?????

Young Blood is Key to Reverse Aging?

Look. I’ve never claimed to be a scientist. I write fiction for a living.

But my head warlock, the very, very, very wicked Jacob, was on to this before the Harvard scientists. Or maybe the Harvard scientists are The Spellspinners of Melas County fans?

YOU BE THE JUDGE.

Either way, this is a remarkable discovery.

Easter Bunny MAGIC!!! (Image in my coffee foam!)

I swear to the Easter Bunny and all things chocolate eggs I did not manipulate this in anyway. I simply pressed the large coffee button, set this china tea cup on the table, and when my friend picked it up to look: voila! Easter Bunny! (Move over, Jesus Toast.)

Back to writing witches and warlocks canoodling on a stolen yacht.

Spell 4, your ending is in sight!

Don’t forget to gobble up Witch’s Brew whilst its on sale and have a Happy Easter!

How cool is my signed Veronica Mars poster!?

I may have gasped when I unrolled this sucker on my kitchen table. This Kickstarter event (because really, it was an EVENT) was such fun for the YA lit community. Andrea Cremer in a guest role?? Sarah Dessen as Kristen Bell’s premiere date?? And many, many supporters. It’s not everyday we have a collective fan experience like this. Thanks for the passion, the dynamically swoony film and the supporter goodies. Fingers crossed for another film, or better yet…another season.

Sea’s hanging out at the cool table with The Fault in Our Stars, Mockingjay and Wonder. Lucky lady.

Thursday Night Live: TV shows reviewed *spoilers*

So I can’t believe I did it, but I did—I watched them all. Well, mostly. I only made it through part of Reign. Not that it’s Reign’s fault, per say, it’s just that my eyes stung and clamped and I was done with the screen.

30-second reviews of the wildly entertaining and slightly overwhelming Thursday line-up.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: So, we all agree that last week’s episode was ridiculous, yes? Our usually bright Mystic Falls gang couldn’t quite figure out that Kat was impersonating Elena though it seemed entire obvious to me. Like Elena would EVER lure STEFAN into a motel to make out. Damon, maybe, but it was usually him going after her. Elena don’t move that way. RED FLAG, STEF. Anyway, they brightened a tad last night; Damon had the best lines, and the best moves (luring Tyler; eyeball! door blocking!) It wasn’t shocking that Nadia died (RIP, poor lost motherless child) but I was NOT expecting Kat scratching her claws on the Salvatore’s freshly polished floors ALL THE WAY TO HELL. Major props for that. Looking forward to the “Mystic Gang Goes to Hell” season down the road. Cuz we ALL KNOW people/vamps/ghosts etc. don’t stay down for long in MF. GRADE: B

GREY’S ANATOMY: This was mostly a relationship/sexy times episode with a sad cancer story worked in. GREY’S is the only show I can think of that effectively writes long-term couples well. Meredith and Derek particularly. I love their house, first of all, and they feel real. Bonus for Yang sneaking into the love trailer. This show has such loose morals, while at the same time being all about humanity, the importance of friendship and its strong belief in love, and that’s what makes it fun. GRADE: A-

PARENTHOOD: OMG, Parenthood, I just love. Let me go ahead and admit my friend and I have a bet on the whole “Will Julia sleep with Ed” thing so I REJOICED when he entered the garden. I loved it when he snapped at that bratty kid and chanted, “GO IN GO IN GO IN” when Julia showed up at his doorstep with Tiki Masala (!) I don’t necessarily like Ed, but he mellows Julia out, and SHE likes him. And I always root for that. In the end, I’m sure Joel will move back in, but sometimes things run there course, okay. Bonus: Crosby being HILARIOUS about selling the house; Zeek hiding under his pillow; Jasmine the mediator. Subtractions: Why couldn’t Sara go to Africa???? It was only for a week??? Why listen to Hank who makes the worse choices ever (remember when he moved to the state that began with an M? I don’t know. It was cold).

GRADE: A (because Parenthood rules)

SCANDAL: (Are you dying yet? Can you believe I watched ALL. THIS. TV. I can.)

Oh, Scandal. What can I say about you that hasn’t already been said? How about THANK YOU for giving poor Mellie a sorta love story for starters! And I like that guy. Sure, he looks exactly like the doctor trying to whisk Sara off to Africa (is it the same actor? Maybe?) but he LIKES her. And he SAVED her. Can Fritz be a bigger dick??? Why is he always yelling at everyone? I’m kinda hoping Papa Pope kills him to be honest. Love Jake. Loved his rant about how popcorn isn’t a food and wine isn’t beer. (Did anyone say wine was beer? Wine is never beer.)

GRADE: B+

What did you think of last night’s shows? Comment here or on the Twitter or Facebook. :)
