Saturday Snippet
Homage to another artist– wow, talk about a theme that's wide open to interpretation. For this Saturday's Snippet, all of the authors listed at the end of the post will be sharing their take on that theme.
Here's mine. I don't listen to music while I write, at least not music with words. I find that when I do, I end up with entire lines of lyrics in the manuscript, and I don't remember putting them there. I'm not a very good typist, and so I really don't know how it happens…but I digress.
I...

In the midst of the fun of seeing people take a taste of Wolf Signs at Amazon and B&N (you did know it's free for your Nook as well, didn't you?) I have very exciting news. Book 3 in the Granite Lake Wolves is releasing March 23rd, and is available for pre-order at both Amazon for kindl-ish peeps and at Books on Board for those who have other preferences. No biases here.
BUT now the news. I'm very VERY excited to announce that Book 4, Wolf Tracks, will be coming out October of 2010. This...

Mid-month update
Do I know where my work-in-progress is at? Yes, yes I do! For once!
I'm in the curious place of having lots to do and surprisingly enough time to do it. This is probably the first week since November that I don't feel like I've got a herd of elephants racing behind me.
I'm waiting for:
Cover Art for Rocky Mountain Haven- looks like April release from Liquid Silver Books
Cover for Stormchild-May 4 from Samhain
Edits on The Wind and the Sun – may 10 from Total E-Bound Books
Edits on...

SOLD!
Exciting news all around. The Kindle freebie program (see yesterday's blog post) seems to be going well, with new people finding out about the wolfies (Hi people!!!) and my contemporary works. I've heard from some readers who were happy to discover some friendly wolves to enjoy (me too!) and it's so nice to be able to share the variety of things I write, like the contemp westerns.
In the midst of the Granite Lake happenings, I've heard from my editor at Samhain, and I'm pleased to announce span

Present for you!
If you've been counting your pennies (like most of us) and you love books (ditto), you've probably heard about the freebie program offered through Amazon for the Kindle. It's a chance to try out a book from an author's backlist to see if you like their voice, and for the next two weeks, I'm the featured author from Samhain Publishing with my first release, Wolf Signs.
It's a fun story–a quick read, and completely fluffy bunny reader safe. If you haven't had a chance to pick it up, here you...

Snippet Saturday- ARGHHHHH!!
The theme today is scary. But…but…I don't DO scary!! Ahhh, there's the open 'subject to interrpetation'clause. Here's my way to show you scary and share a snippet.
I don't like aliens. You know, the freaky pictures with the big eyes etc? This past week my son sent me this you-tube. You don't have to watch to the end, but at about halfway through I SCREAMED. And my teenage son thought it was a hoot. :rolls eyes:
Now to contrast with MY aliens. In Claiming Derryn there is a small furred lizard c...

Paint the town Red!!
Woohoo! The Olympics are on their way, and being a Canada girl, I've got to love the fact that they are being held in my current home Province of B.C. as well!!
We've got the DVR set to record and over the next days we'll be watching WAY more TV than is good for anyone.
Some great news things to share alog the way as well.
If you haven't voted yet in the Sammies–these are your chance to give your picks for top hero/heroine/story and artwork of 2009. My books Wolf Signs, Tidal Wave and Wolf...

New Release- Claiming Derryn
I've repeated the blurb so many times already, let's just announce 'It's Hereeeee…."
I wrote this story on a whim, back when Samhain had a call for a Space Opera. It exploded out in under two weeks, and that was with me having to get over the shock of the characters shanghaing me and deciding it wasn't going to be a m/f. Nope, not even an m/f/m. Somewhere — and sometime– I'm going to learn how to direct my characters a little better, but for now all I can say is I'm glad I listened to them...

Almost time…
…to face the future, or at least one version of it. A very hot version. Claiming Derryn releases in only…well check the countdown clock to the right!

By the time she'd spent all her sorrow, hiccups racked her frame. Each breath shuddered out with a gasp, and still he comforted her. Trev swept her into his arms and she buried her face against him, clinging to his neck. The sound of dripping increased, the steam on her skin growing warmer. Splashing ensued, and then the velvet touch of...

Snippet Saturday- Dumped
Welcome to Snippet Saturday. Today's theme is 'Dumped'. I've got a couple of books that touch on this theme, but this snippet from Rocky Mountain Heat is a nice twist of getting dumped and mistaken identity. Oh, and it's NSFW.

He looked at Jaxi again, lying in his lap so innocently. He was such an ass. Even while he wanted to break his brother's head for trying to touch her, he had to force himself to stop from reaching to see if her skin was as soft as it looked.
She moaned and her limbs j...
