Make Some Noise- Day 8
Day eight and my writing world continues to expand.
Through Rhian and Jess I met a wonderful lady who began a year before me in the writing business, and she's making it tough to catch up. Mari Carr's first release Erotic Research came out in March of 2008 and since then she's amassed 23 published stories/freebies.
Yup, she's prolific, and very talented. While most of her stories have been stand-alones or pairs, Mari's finally gotten into writing series. Right now she's got a wonderful one...

Make Some Noise- Day 7
Day Seven- Happy Anniversary to me!!!
Although, that's not the real picture, and that's the whole point of this celebration. This isn't about me, it's about the people who helped me here with their support and swift kicks to my rear end. People like Bonne and Kate–a couple of the original Nanowrimo's who talked me into the challenge in 2007 to write 50K in a month. We celebrated that milestone by taking a cruise on the Kootenay Lake (AKA the ferry crossing) and then soaking in Ainsworth...

Make Some Noise- new Release
Day six and let the arwhoooooing commense. Book 3 in the Granite Lake Wolves, Wolf Games, is out today. One year less a day from the release of the first story and the start of the adventure. I've still got a number of days to share about people that have touched me during the past year, but today is to say thank you to the people I've really grown to love.
Readers. You make me smile when you write to me. When you blog about my stories, and when you tell your friends. I learn from your...

Make Some Noise- Day 5
Day five and welcome to the wild west.
Lorelei James…makes my Alberta born blood heat up. I kick back to the days of hanging out at the Calgary Stampede and ogling the cowboys. Or visiting the ranch and taking slow slow trail rides in the foothills of the Rockies.
Lorelei writes them hot, and she writes them so well. I've enjoyed dipping into the world she's created with the Rough Riders and she inspired me to try my hand at my own cowboy books. I had to set my boys where I know, so the Six...

Make Some Noise- Day 4
Day four and here's the confession. On my bio page it says I followed a favorite author to Samhain.
That author was Lauren Dane.
I definitely went through a werewolf stage, reading everything I could find, and one series I was thrilled to discover was Lauren's Cascadia Wolves.
This was right around the time Wolf Unbound released at Samhain Publishing, so there I went. That led to me seeing the call for submissions, and eventually getting on as an author at Samhain myself.
Of course, while...

Make Some Noise- Day 3
Day three when I discuss discovering the perfect way to blow my book budget.
Backlists.
You know what I'm talking about–once I found a new author I enjoyed I worked my way through their entire backlist. And damn, some authors are prolific! Like Lora Leigh–I started with a print copy of Tanner's Scheme (Breeds), hopped back into ebooks and then switched to her contemporary .
Today's prize is a print copy of Dangerous Games.
IT'S NOT WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE.
Navy SEAL Clint "Iceman" McIntire didn't ...

Make Some Noise- Day 2
Day two and the first print romance book that brought me into this gig. Hubby and I were on holidays and I'd already gone through all the books I had with me. I spotted this intriguing looking gentlemen (damn, love those eyes…) on the shelf at the drugstore and the rest is history.
Sherrilyn Kenyon? Cool book. Wonder if she has anymore.
My jaw hit the ground when I discovered…umm, hello? LOTS more. I was a kid in a candy shop. I love finding an author when the series is in full swing.
A nice...

Make Some Noise- Day 1
Let's start the celebration at the beginning. I discovered ebooks in January of 2008, and one thing lead to another. After reading a lot of books in a short period of time, I discovered a submission call for paranormal stories with a humorous twist. Wolf Signs became my first attempt at writing erotic romance, and the following March my first story was published.
For today's contest, I'm going to highlight a few of the first books I read in ebook. Winner of today gets their choice of one the f...
