Read an extract of Inspector Andy Horton in A Killing Coast

A Killing Coast, a DI Andy Horon crime novel by Pauline Rowsoni A Killing Coast, like all the Inspector Andy Horton crime novels, is set against the atmospheric backdrop of the sea in the Solent on the South Coast of England, in the waterfront city of Portsmouth and the surrounding towns, and the stunning coastal locations of the Isle of Wight. It's April and Andy Horton finds himself engaged in a new complex murder investigation.

Footsteps on the Shore – The Page 69 Test

Footsteps on the Shore a DI Andy Horton crime novel The theory is that if a reader picks up a novel in a bookshop or library and applies the Page 69 Test and likes what they have read they will purchase or borrow the book. This rather strange rule was devised by the writer Marshall McLuhan championed more recently by John Sutherland in How to Read a Novel: A User’s Guide. Not that I believe we really need instructions on how to read a novel but each to their own.

For those of you who firmly believe in the Page 69 Test here it is for Inspector Andy Horton police procedural, FOOTSTEPS ON THE SHORE, number six in the series of currently 13 novels.

Read an extract of the Marvik Mystery Dangerous Cargo

Dangerous Cargo - An Art Marvik Marne Crime Thriller by Pauline Rowson Dangerous Cargo is set during the month of March, which is why I have chosen to feature it on the blog (along with an Inspector Andy Horton crime novel also set in March - Footsteps on the Shore). If you haven't already read Dangerous Cargo, the second in the Art Marvik mystery series, then this might tempt you.

Compelling, multi-layered, gripping, a great read for mystery lovers Inspector Andy Horton in Footsteps on the Shore, read an extract

Pauline Rowson with Footsteps on the Shore, DI Andy Horton mysteryOD For me, when choosing a new novel to read, and one by a writer previously unknown to me, I will read the blurb on the back cover, then turn to the first page. From there I will decide whether or not it is my cup of tea. I apply the Page 1 Test as opposed to the Page 69 Test. (For those of you who prefer the Page 69 Test you'll find examples of it here on my blog for some of my Inspector Andy Horton crime novels and my Art Marvik mysteries.)

So here is the blurb and the extract from page 1. for Inspector Andy Horton police procedural, FOOTSTEPS ON THE SHORE, number six in the series of currently 13 novels. FOOTSTEPS ON THE SHORE is one of my favourites in the DI Andy Horton series. I hope it is (might be) yours.
