#RWA18 New Friends!
Met so many great people at the Romance Writers of America conference, and caught up with many others. I should probably think of “networking” and “making contacts” if I’m treating my writing like a business. But writing is no ordinary business, and a very solitary pursuit. Everyone’s a friend to me. I get so much more out of my friendships than I do out of business deals, not that business isn’t occasionally necessary. We all need to eat. But overall… Welcome, friends!

Rainy Day Motivation
Red lips, new shoes. I had birthday cake (my nephew’s) yesterday, so I had to get active today. The rain made it tough to start, but I put on some power red and my new Brooks Glycerin 15 running shoes, and got out there (to the gym, not running in a downpour). I’m a high arch overpronator and these shoes are the best for me, love them. Find your motivation!

Princess or Villain?
You might be a villain if you hear the angry crow over the sweet birdsong. Uh-oh. Villain here.

Friday Yet?
I hope your week is going better than Pepper’s! (Actually, she had a great week, just relaxing).

Well Done, Marchers!
March for Our Lives was a huge event, and congratulations and well done to everyone who got out there to make a difference! Truly inspiring!
And then there’s this… mind-boggling. How does one work out with a gun in one’s yoga pants?! Not to mention all that other stuff in the pockets. https://jezebel.com/but-yoga-1824062280

Work in Progress
I’m writing a Young Adult best friend breakup story (I can relate)!
One friend would totally buy this Coach bag on sale. On sale! Coach! And it’s pink!
The other friend would never need a handbag- that’s what pockets are for. And even if she did, it wouldn’t be an overpriced luxury brand.
They’re currently in my head arguing over if I need that bag or not. Want, need… not the same. But I do like it.[image error]

My Girls!
Nothing like coming home from a weekend away to these two love bugs, my corgis Bandit (the tricolor) and Pepper (red and white).[image error]
They’re Pembroke Welsh Corgis (like Queen Elizabeth II’s). My BFF Dee Davis has Cardigan Welsh Corgis (Penn and Gus).[image error]
The difference? Cardigans are slightly longer in body, more solid build, with broader wedge-shaped faces, and glorious long tails. Pembrokes have a foxier look, more pointed faces, and usually docked tails (which is still an AKC breed standard, but we’re trying to change that). In the UK, they won’t dock tails (yay!). Both corgi types have the short legs, and tend to be great at agility training, and being loving companions.
