Merry Christmas!
We're in Scotland and everyone in my immediate family is/was sick. Fingers crossed we make it through Christmas Day without any incidents :) Staying at Crieff Hydro and as it has actually stopped raining for the first time in days (yippee) I'll try and take some photos to post later.

Cosford RAF Museum
It has been many years since I went to Cosford. As the daughter of a man who loves airplanes I certainly went a lot as a kid, but not since. The first obvious change is the enormous new hangar (below). The whole thing is great, and as I don't know all the names of the planes here's a pictorial of our trip instead.
Complete with interactive displays it was a great day out for the kids and, aside from spending 2.50 on parking, the museum itself is FREE! December 15, 2012
All Saints Church
This morning, I visited my Grandad and Granny's grave and laid a wreath. Poignant, but such a lovely setting. Couldn't help thinking about the people in Connecticut and seeing history repeat itself. There are no words for what happened there, just as there were no words for Dunblane. Very sad times.

Home
Great to be home but the weather went from frosty (nice) to rain (bleh). I did manage to raid Marks & Spencers though. I've wrapped most of the presents and even bought some cards--oh, and I finished the longest running Sudoku puzzle ever on the plane after DH put in a couple of numbers. The family are all in good spirits and it is great to see them.

Packing
Big trip tomorrow. Getting up at OMG early. Which reminds me, anyone going to see that new movie, Zero Dark Thirty? I only heard about it yesterday. It appeals to my inner storyteller especially the role of the female protagonist in a male dominated arena. I want to see it.Back to my trip. I'm charging cameras, ereaders, iPods. Cleaning kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms. Doing all the last minute washing. Stocking the cupboards up for the peeps staying here, and the dog. Trying to preempt any possible disaster scenario (which naturally I will fail at given the nature of disasters). For the first time ever I'm probably not going to take a physical book--although there is a craft book I might throw in... trying to keep our luggage down to 2 suitcases which gets tricky when you have Christmas gifts and two kids. Anyway, totally doable.
I'll be away from the blog for a few days. Here's my first (post airport) destination. Shropshire.

Christmas cards
I need to apologize in advance to all friends and family this year. The chance of getting a Christmas card from us is up there with me finishing the Sudoku puzzle I've been working on since July. Basically, not going to happen unless someone else does it for me :) So please don't feel like you have to send us one. The feelings of 'wishing you the happiest and healthiest festive season' are very much alive and well, albeit in invisible form.
Ok--have to go and dust the bedroom for the dog/house sitter. Waiting on edits on DARK WATERS and trying to do as much preemptive packing and planning as possible. That's a lot of 'p's :)
