Goodreads Book Giveaway
The Killing Game by Toni Anderson Giveaway ends July 08, 2013.
See the giveaway details at Goodreads. Enter to win I'm running a Goodreads Giveaway for THE KILLING GAME--US entrants only. I have a good reason for the US only thing. Most of my giveaways are open worldwide but not this one. I won't be doing many giveaways for this book (JFYI).
And...
I received my first Publishers Weekly review (ever) for DARK WATERS--and it was great!
"In this action-packed contemporary, Anderson (Dangerous Waters) weaves together a tapestry of powerful suspense and sizzling romance." Read the rest *here.*
Danger once again laps at the shores of Barkley Sound, the Graveyard of the Pacific…
Since her rocky childhood and its abrupt, brutal ending, schoolteacher Anna Silver hasn’t given her trust easily. But when her estranged father gets in over his head—again—and winds up dead, his last message to Anna is as clear as it is insistent: she’s in danger and Brent Carver, the man with whom he shared a prison cell for five years, is the only person she should turn to for help. With nowhere else to go and with her father’s killer on her trail, Anna flees to what she hopes is safety.
Tucked into the west coast of Vancouver Island, Brent Carver’s isolated home hasn’t seen many visitors. And his friend’s daughter is the last person he ever expected to grace his doorstep. She’s in trouble, and he can’t deny her protection…just as he can’t deny his attraction to the independent beauty. As their passion sparks into flame, the perfect storm brews off the coast of his island home, bringing with it a sadistic killer hunting Anna and the secrets she’s come close to uncovering.

Dangerous Waters is a finalist in the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense
So last week I found out that DANGEROUS WATERS was a finalist in the Published Division of Kiss of Death's Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense (Single Title Romantic Mystery/Suspense).
Very nice!
Kiss of Death is an online writing chapter of the Romance Writers of America. It is the only chapter I belong to and I enjoy the online courses and the pre-conference tour. This year I'm missing the tour, unfortunately, but I am attending RWA nationals where the winners of the Daphne are announced (at the Death by Chocolate party). It's my third time at nationals, but my very first time being nominated for anything beside "best wallflower" award.
My fellow nominees are fabulous. This is who I am up against:
This is my favorite book of Melinda's. Not only do we share an agent, we share a publishing house and editor.
Joe Green's story. I'm a massive Cindy Gerard fangirl and I love this story.
I've been wanting to read Bronwyn Parry for a while now. The only thing that put me off was the price of the ebook. Well now I have the perfect excuse to indulge my Romantic Suspense addiction--AND it's set in Australia. Win:win.
I've had the Chasing Evil trilogy in my TBR pile for some time. Guess what I'm reading this weekend? I've heard great things about this author.
Last, but hopefully not least...
Me!
Good company or what?
So thanks to the judges who put me among the finalists. I know the sort of time and commitment it takes to judge and I really appreciate it :)

**4.8 STAR** average on Amazon.com
Enjoy!
A snow leopard biologist becomes the prey when cold war secrets threaten to expose a modern-day spy ring, and an elite British soldier is forced to choose between his country and his heart.
Wildlife biologist Axelle Dehn isn’t about to let anyone harm her endangered snow leopards—not the poacher intent on killing them, nor the soldier who wants to use them as bait. But Axelle is unknowingly entangled in a conflict that stretches back three decades, a conflict that could spark a war between two of the world’s great nations. British SAS soldier, Ty Dempsey, is on a mission to hunt down an infamous Russian terrorist in a remote region of Afghanistan. Dempsey hasn’t failed a mission yet, but when Axelle is kidnapped by the Russian, he is forced to choose between duty and his heart. He risks everything to save the determined, prickly woman he’s fallen for, but in doing so sparks a deadly series of events that threaten to expose the most successful spy in history. A spy who will destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Blogging at NYUS
Because I have lost the power to blog here (temporary I am sure) I am again guest blogging on NOT YOUR USUAL SUSPECTS. Check out our hidden talents!
Here's a painting I didn't share over there. Technically it isn't great but I love patterns in nature so I love this painting anyway.

I actually blogged
over on Not Your Usual Suspects... Sexpectations.
Finally, the snow has melted and I will be able to get into the garden this weekend. I'll probably end up bent and wizened in the tub on Saturday night but it'll be worth it :)
Writing-wise, I am suddenly having a ball and I'm almost halfway through the first draft of my new serial killer story, tentatively titled STOLEN. Got to keep focused as I have a huge amount to do before summer arrives, and before I go to RWA. I'm also starting to edit March and Josie's story (from Her Sanctuary) that I hope to have published this year. I know I've been talking about it for an age but I'm really trying, I promise.

Update--writing news

I'd love to hear what people think about the book. It is not a traditional Romantic Suspense, more an Action Adventure Romance.
In other news I'm hoping to publish Marsh and Josie's (from Her Sanctuary)--BLADE HUNTER--before the end of the year! I've had a lot of reader emails about this book and I'm trying hard to get it ready.
We still have snow. It's ridiculous. I think it's the longest winter in history!!!
