Thieves!

People often ask me why I don’t put myself out there more, why I don’t do more social networking. Because I’m a private person. And…

So I got one of my email’s hacked. Glad it wasn’t a major account, however, I HATE THIEVES!! I’ve never been a big fan of social media. Don’t get me wrong it has its perks. But as much as I love, adore, and can’t live without technology, its dark side scares me and makes me weary. NO, IT’S NOT THE INTERNET’S FAULT! It’s the evil people on the internet who scam, steal ID’s, and hack. MAY YOU ALL BURN IN THE INFERNO OF MY RAGE!!! (just the evil people)

With that said, my fellow writers, bloggers, tweeters, facebookers, and what-nots, be careful what you do and how you do it, because them damn thieves are everywhere!

Plotting Thoughts 6/17/12

The sins of the parents often trickle down to the child. And depending on how public (well-known) the sin,the bigger the trickle. Now the question is: How big do I want this character’s trickle to be?

RBH

Without being forgiven, released from the consequences of what we have done, our capacity to act would … be confined to one single deed from which we could never recover; we would remain the victims of its consequences forever, not unlike the sorcerer’s apprentice who lacked the magic formula to break the spell.

Floating through a dream

None of my ideas come from my dreams, but…

I often dream of what I write. The characters are so real to me. The story so vivid.

My daydreams are usually consumed by my story. I find myself paying less attention to reality in order to focus on the imaginary.

Will I go mad? Am I already there? Well, genius is another form of madness… so I accept.

Drown Out The World

It’s easy to get discouraged in a world full of strife and discord. It’s easy to say,

“I give up!”

When the world says,

“Things are hopeless.”

But I say,

“Tune it the heck out and get back to what you love.”

Be it writing, acting, drawing, etc., you be the dictator of your craft.

Plotting thoughts 6/6/2012

If everyone just took five minutes out of their day to write something meaningful, what would they write about?

Love? Life? Liberty?

Pride before the fall?

Would they write out a plan to better humanity? Would they find new solutions to go green? Would they seek inner self before outer appearance? Could one write about philosophical…

Oh well, there goes my five minutes.

Plotting Thoughts 6/2/2012

The book I’m currently writing has me ponder the ideals and concepts of freedom. Emotional freedom. Physical freedom. Mental freedom. And that age old question that reoccurs when philosophizing such thing: Does it truly exist? Contained, chained to gravity, is there true liberty?

Then again I think too much and my character isn’t a philosopher so I’ll put those thoughts in another book.

After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.

RB? Here!

Comfortably sitting on my bed getting ready to tuck in, I think.

“I haven’t blogged in… AWHILE!”

So I pick up my phone and decide to do something different. Yeah, that’s right. A blog from my phone.

And expect more of these short blogs because the majority of my creative energy is being sucked from my mind poured into my major works. Hints the main reason I have neglect this aspect of my life.

So while you may not get much fancy pants fluff, do expect more fluff.

Sorry, 2012, I’m Late!

Happy New Year!

Better late than never? To be honest, I’m not feeling the newness of the year. The only difference is the changing of the dates.

Resolutions?

I don’t usually do resolutions. Too hard to keep. But I have one resolution:

To Roll Up My Sleeves & Get To Work!

2011…

…brought a lot of interesting ideas to my writing. While I’ve been writing, I haven’t put my all in it like I usually do. Now that I’ve consolidated and tweaked my thoughts writing drafts, it’s time to dig deep and truly make diamonds out of coal.

Step 1.) APPLY PRESSURE:

To create diamonds, coal has to be under enormous pressure. By publicly declaring that I’m going to finish one of these books, I feel I’m pressuring myself to get it done.

Step 2.) APPLY EVEN MORE PRESSURE:

I’m going to be greedy and go for the best possible diamond. So I’ll try for two books this year.

Step 3….

I’ll stop there. Diamonds are great, but a lot of work. Plus, greed corrupts!

So this year will be all about honing the craft and polishing my diamonds… I mean books to brilliance.

The Good. The Bad. The Trash.

When reading a book, what do you find unforgivable? When do you find a book worthy of trashing?

Before I continue, you will notice on Scribeyond that I do not review books and refuse to speak ill about other authors' work for I understand the painstaking thought that goes into a novel.

With that said, I just finished a book that left me…

PISSED!

It started off good. I mean it had me turning pages. The main character was discovering self, forging alliances, tapping into great powers, recognizing the evil, thought shaky, ready to do battle with it, and then….

And then…

Then?

Then towards the middle the main character did something so outrageous I screamed. Hoping to find some meaning, some understanding or redeeming action, I kept reading. Two chapters from the end of the book, I trashed that son of a…. PIIIIIISSSSSSEEEEEDDD!!!!

The only thing I have left to say is a bit of advice to all writers/authors who don't want their books trashed:

If the main character KNOWS who the evil villain is and you plan to have the main character join forces with the villain, AND the main character is supposed to a good guy/gal, YOU BETTER HAVE A HELLUVA GOOD REASON FOR IT!!!

That is all.
