Buying Online Audio Books Can Increase Your Reading Material
Let’s face it, a long trip on the open road can get boring. Buying Online Audio Books can make your trip much more enjoyable and help the time pass more quickly. Before you head off on your next road trip, spend some time browsing the best-sellers and see if there is something that would interest you for the long trip ahead.
Many individuals enjoy listening to best-sellers on tape because you can get a lot more done. You can listen to a book on tape while you are traveling across country. If you have a list of reading material that you know you will never find the time to read, consider ordering it in audio form.
There are hundreds of thousands of volumes available to order in this format. Finding time to read can be difficult. Listening to them on tape or CD as you travel across country makes it possible to keep up with some of the new titles as they become available.
Books on tape tend to cost a little bit more than those on CD. Some people prefer the cassette method, which usually holds a chapter or two per tape. Others enjoy listening on CD, which holds the book in its entirety.
Whichever method you prefer, convenience seems to be the deciding factor. Many people enjoy listening to a book that is read or acted our dramatically, rather than reading it themselves. Part of the reason could be because it allows them to picture what is happening in the story as they use their imagination to visualize the story unfolding.
It has been proven that audio readers read more books per year. Statistics show that people who listen to reading material on tape or cd may end up getting through triple the amount of books as regular readers do. This fact alone has encouraged more people to begin purchasing this type of reading material online.
People are working more hours and have busier schedules than ever. Sometimes, with those busy schedules comes a long commute. Think about how you can be using that time in traffic listening to the latest suspense thriller or listening to a best-seller.
Many people confess to wishing they had more time to read. By purchasing audio reading material, this dream can become a reality. If you have children, there are also special books that can be purchased for them to listen to, as well.
Audio books can be purchased online in three formats. You can purchase your favorite reading material on cassette tape, CD, or even a downloadable format such as MP3. The cost is usually a lot cheaper than the regular book version, so you can expect to save money. There are even audio book clubs that you can join.
Buying Online Audio Books has become more and more popular. Not having to take the time to travel to a store to try and find what you are looking for can save time and money. Imagine the convenience of just going to a website and clicking on the book of your choice. This form of reading is increasing in popularity as more and more people discover ways to save time and money.

Most people study Spanish to be able to speak and carry on conversations they meet during travel or, perhaps, in the course of their work.
A smaller but not insignificant number, though, desire to go beyond speaking Spanish. They want to have the pleasure of being able to read Spanish books and other materials in the original language.
Thanks to the Internet you have a huge choice if you want to read books in Spanish online, or to download them to your computer for perusing at your leisure. Many are in the public domain and are therefore free of cost.
A huge selection of free books and other literature authored in Spanish may be found at La Biblioteca Virtual de Espanol (cervantesvirtual.com). Catalogued like a real library, with sections and subsections ranging from literature to history to religion to travelogues to much more, this virtual Spanish library could keep you supplied for years with texts to read or download.
If deep thoughts are to your liking, you’ll definitely want to spend time at the Proyecto Filosofia en Espanol (filosfia.org). Here you can read books in Spanish covering a wide range of philosophical subjects.
You don’t have to limit yourself to old material, either. For instance, Babab.com has a section of contemporary books in Spanish at babab.com/biblioteca. They are offered completely free of charge; all you need is a copy of Acrobat Reader on your computer to read them, since they’re formatted in PDF.
Don’t forget good old Project Gutenberg, either. It has a whole section of free texts in Spanish at gutenberg.org/browse/languages/es. They range from Aesops’ Fables to Cervantes’ Don Quixote, and some are available in audio format for when you feel like listening instead of reading.

Read Novels Online VS Reading Books
Reading from a screen is more tiring and much slower than a book, and many people miss the relaxing touch of the page. There is a massive difference in the experience of reading a blog versus reading a novel. High-concentration reading from a computer screen is not very comfortable. There are hundreds of books that are worthwhile reading and never see the light of day or at least not at any time receive their just due.
They say people are not reading now as much as they used to. What if people just don’t want to read novels online? Same goes with the Internet, if all you do is chat and participate in social websites, then you cannot really expect to put your vocabulary to good use, neither can you expect to learn much more; but, it is possible to read novels online (Literature. Not many people give up paperbacks to read novels online. Secondary to this question is this is it making reading more accessible.
Read novels online, get the latest news, and contact the author. The conventional wisdom that no one wants to read novels online exists in the realm of fiction. Parents worried about kids reading too much online should ask and answer questions about what they are reading. When they are reading with the keyboard within reach, they ask questions and make comments. Considering how much reading consists of articles, online and off, the fact that electronic reader discussions are so exclusively focused on books illustrates the backwards thinking, book people have when it comes to contemporary reading and technology.
Finding Romance Books To Read Online – Tips and Tricks To Know Before You Download Novels On Love
There’s nothing like being immersed in a good novel on love and romance. Many individuals download romance books to read online and it is a frequent habit, made possible by advancements in computing software and the internet. A book you read on your computer is called an eBook, but they also go by other names, such as an electronic book and a digital book.
Whether or not you are used to downloading romance novels online, the following paragraphs will go into detail with some tips and tricks to know, if you’re going to satisfy your need for romance books to read online. We will also discuss the types of places where you can get your hands on some quality romance novels, as well as some precautionary measures you should take.
The internet is a somewhat safer place to do browsing and downloads compared to a few years ago. Even with downloading romance novels to read online, that does not mean you should not be vigilant either. There are rogue websites and files on the internet that are programmed to compromise your privacy and the security of your personal computer. Having some security program(s) on your computer to combat viruses, malware, spyware and rootkits, is a step you should take before doing any extensive browsing and downloading online.
Websites can contain code and romance eBook files may have been tampered with, to cause damage to your computer. While the chances of a downloaded romance eBook, causing an infection on your personal computer is minimal, it can happen, so don’t turn a blind eye with regards to having a reputable security program that is regularly updated (to combat new threats) on your computer. This should provide the best experience possible when you download romance stories online.
Finding romance books to read online can be a chore, if you are looking for a database containing a multitude of romantic novels. The easiest databases you will find are shopping sites, as they will have a multitude of romance books for sale. These can be tangible books, which are shipped to your home or downloadable romance eBooks, which are delivered to your computer instantly upon completion of the transaction.
If you’re on a budget you will find that many romance books are affordable. There are certain places that may allow free romance eBook downloads, but the quality and content of these books are often questionable and stripped. For example, you may freely download a romance novel to read online, only to find out that you were only given the first couple of pages. These are usually samples and if you like what you read so far, you have to pay for the rest of the book.
What has been emerging lately is a subscription based model. Websites offering a service where you subscribe and afterwards, you are able to download all the romance books to read online that you want. Some of these are “pay by the month” subscriptions, but I have seen one that only asks for a small one time payment for a lifetime membership, and what is offered is surprisingly good. You’re basically given unlimited access to a huge library of eBooks.
Because of the advancements in technology, you aren’t just limited to reading love and romance eBooks on your computer. There are many other devices that allow you to read digital books. Some of these include, the iPad, Kindle and Nook. The devices that were primarily made for reading eBooks are called eReaders.
The main advantage to having an eReading device, is that they are portable and they can store a multitude of digital books, as opposed to having to tote all the books that you want to read wherever you go. These portable eReaders usually have a very long battery life, before you have to charge them again. Some eReaders have improved lighting features, in case you are going to read in a poorly lit area.
Now that we have some information on downloading romance and love stories, are you up for getting some steamy romance novels to read online?
Where to Read Comic Books Online?
More and more people are wondering where they can read comic books online. The digital versions of print publications of this highly enjoyable and addictive medium, after all, have grown in prominence in recent years, with the advent of comic book readers and portable computing devices like laptops, iPhones, iPods and the Apple iPad.
When trying to discover where to read comics online, one must remember a particular day when these digital format files are released.
Wednesday is usually (san the occasional holiday) New Comics day, when new issues arrive at your local comic shop. It’s the time of the week that is always red marked by sequential art aficionados all over the country, and all over the world for that matter.
This is the time of the week when the likes of Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, the X-Men, Green Lantern and other superheroes embark on their newest adventures (or continue their quests from previous months, as the case may be). Whether the heroes are up against the specter of the Blackest Night, or banding together to defeat a Siege, or fighting against one another in a Civil War, Wednesday will always be the day when the newest chapters of the greatest stories are published, delivered and revealed.
Whether people like Spiderman comics, or Superman issues, or old comics of Captain America in World War II, there will always be something for different people come Wednesdays.
Wednesday has, thus, become what is known as 0-day in the digital comics community. 0-day is when printed comics are converted into digitally distributable formats like CBR, CBZ and even PDF (though the former 2 are preferred). With comic book reading programs like CDisplay for the PC, Comic Zeal 4 for the Mac, and Stanza for iPhones, iPods, and iPads, enjoying these digital comic formats has become very easy and convenient.
The sole question that remains is this: where exactly can you read comic books online?

James Redfield and The Celestine Prophecy
In 1989 James Redfield resigned from his job as a counselor and therapist to disturbed adolescents in Alabama and devoted his life full time to writing. This was a very brave move but “The Celestine Prophecy” went onto to sell more than 20 million copies worldwide. The story of the publication of the book is certainly worth telling as it is one of the most inspiring publishing stories ever.
Having quit his job, James Redfield sat down to write his book. He was a not a natural writer and found the process sometimes difficult. He recounts in his later non-fiction publication “The Celestine Vision” which appeared in 1997 that his journey was possible through the remarkable power of synchronicity. Curiously he explores the power of seeming coincidence in one of the earlier chapters of the original book. He says that when he got stuck people would show up, or a book would drop into his lap that took him to the next step in his revelation of the nine insights that he reveals when he came to write ‘The Celestine Prophecy’.
The project hit a brick wall in 1991. He had finished writing after two years of hard work and then he turned to getting his book published. He says he received some offers from publishers but none of them seemed right to him. This disheartened him as he interpreted this seeming lack of acknowledgement as failure. He took some more time to use the insights that he writes about to help him in his own life. The plot, which reads like an adventure story is set in Peru and synthesises the author’s explorations into Psychology, Eastern and Western Philosophies, Science, Ecology, History and mysticism. When he looked at the insights as a stepping stone in his own life, he generated more insights, which he was able to include in the book.
Soon afterwards as ‘synchronicity’ would have it, he bumped into a publishing consultant form New York. He introduced Redfield to the concept of self-publishing. The first print run numbered 3,000 copies. The author and his wife Salle gave half of these away to select individuals and small booksellers in their surrounding area. Word of mouth did the rest, as the recipients of the books were keen to recommend “The Celestine Prophecy”, so thanks to this marketing, in six months they had one hundred thousand copies in print. The Redifield printing phenomenon was so successful that it came to the notice of Warner Books. They bought the rights and published a hard cover edition in March 1994. In 1995 it reached the number two position in the New York Times best seller list and then got to number one slot in 1996, where it remained for the best part of a year. Even Britain’s Prince Charles boasted of having a copy of the book beside his bed.
The account of the success of “The Celestine Prophecy” demonstrates that an author can write a novel or a non-fiction book, stick with it and have a success story beyond his or her wildest expectations. Here’s a question have you ever thought of writing a book?
Why Do I Have to Market My Book? I Just Want to Write a Book
Today's authors need to be expert marketers.
At one time, authors were coddled and coseted (a very, very long time ago). Today's authors need to consider how they're going to get that book sold, often long before the book is written.
Anyone who goes the route of self-publishing knows that they are responsible for getting the word out about their book, but many authors do not realize that even the larger publishing houses have cut their marketing divisions down to such an amount that unless you're ' re a regular name on the New York Times Bestseller List, you're not going to qualify for a marketing slush fund.
What does this mean for you?
If you have any intention of writing a book that will reach the audience you want to reach, you are going to have to do all the marketing for your book.
Even before you write the first word, you need to consider the following points:
Who your audience is
What they want to know
Why they need your book
How your book is going to help them better than anyone else's book out there
I admire anyone who has the desire to write a book, especially a nonfiction book that is designed to share information that the author has and I do not. When I talk to authors, however, many of them do not look much beyond their desire to write a book. They fail to take into consideration their future audience, their future readers. They want to roam and ramble through their topic, much like taking a wandering stroll through the woods without a map or a compass. What is likely to happen is that hiker is going to get lost.
So will your reader.
This is a big mistake. You do not want your reader getting lost or confused when they pick up your book.
In order for a book to be any sort of a success, it must absolutely take the reader into account. It must answer the four points above in great detail. Before your reader even reads the first page of your book, they want to know that you understand their problem and are going to solve it for them.
What does this have to do with marketing?
Simple. My identifying your reader's major problem and showing how it can be solved with your book, you've taken the first step toward marketing your own book. You've identified a need and with your book, you have a solution.
That's not only going to make your book a better book. It's good business sense to write a book that people will pay money to read.
Pushing the Boundaries of Good Taste – Are Audiences Addicted to Sex and God-Killing?
Controversy. Provocative Literature. Scandalous movies. Are they all designed to push the boundaries of good taste or to make us think. Or, at a baser level, just to stimulate hormones that give us a natural high?
Scandalous books and movies
Think of the most controversial films and books of all time. Hollywood has often danced on the edge of censor-goodwill, courting big box office, pushig boundaries that inspire disgust, shock, anger. To a large extend, today’s push into “reality” television is built around the same concept.
A quick history of “controversy in films” shows a great affinity to Christ-bashing (read as organized religion bashing), sex sensationalizing and violence-sensationalizing, of course. In other words, anything that glorifies our taboos. And, it should be remembered, that my list is a partial list, and all were hits, many based on banned books or scandalous (and to a large extent, classic) books:
Religion Addiction
o 1976-The Message: The Story of Islam an epic drama by the producer of the Halloween horror films, caused riots and death threats.
o 1979-Monty Python’s Life of Brian: a tasteless romp into satirizing the story of Christ, and considered one of the funniest movies ever made by many experts.
o1988-Last Temptation of Christ shocked, appalled, delighted for the same reasons the 1955 book that inspired it by Nikos Kazantzakis’s became a best-seller-and banned book (a theme repeated in DaVinci Code-a graphic sexual relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus.)
o 1994-Gibson crucifies Judaism and glorifies violence in The Passion of The Christ.
Sex Addiction
o 1962-bubble-gum popping, underage Lolita shocks the world in Kubrick’s early masterpiece (and the book was banned for years as well!)
o 1972-Bertolucci’s masterpiece Last Tango in Paris, was is pornography or art?
o 1972 -the “repulsive” J. Waters Pink Flamingos, pushes even bad taste (feces eating, chicken sex, cannibalism, etc) to the limit but becomes a cult hit.
o1978-Pretty Baby, child porn? Based on Al Rose’s book Storyville, New Orleans, depicts Brooke Shields as a naked 12-year-old prostitute
o1999-Trey Parker’s South Park, Bigger Longer and Uncut is has been called one of the most “obscene movies of all time.”
Taboo Addiction
o1994-violence taboo champion Oliver Stone does it again with Natural Born Killers, a movie credited with inspiring a real killing rampage
o Almost anything by the master Tarantino
o 1974-Tobe Hooper’s squirm-fest Texas Chainsaw Massacre
o1985-Year of the Dragon, based on Robert Delaney’s novel, portrayed endless racial stereotypes
o 2006-United 93 sparked a “I’ll never watch that” furor that proved untrue. Everyone rushed to watch the “R rated violence” and gritty realism of this story of terror and heroism. People complained of “not being able to sleep” after watching, a natural result of hormone-stimulation.
Hormone Stimulation or Art?
Art in any form is designed, really, to stimulate hormones, to give us a natural high, and-for the majority of us who eschew illegal drugs and addictive substances-an addiction we can feed without guilt.
Great books and great movies have always been about addiction. The most memorable titles were considered scandalous in their time-Mark Twain was once “controversial, as were most notable authors-and often these “pushers of the boundaries” break taboos a create a new paradigm. Who would have thought, only twenty years ago, that we’d be thrilled to watch the explicit horror and sex we indulge in today? Take away the censors, it might all have happened earlier. On the other hand, censors add to the “forbidden fruit” appeal.
Censors and Books
Censors have always been with us, even in books. Publishers often refused to publish what as perceived to be too controversial. But think back on banned books and movies from the past. When the ban is eventually lifted, feeling guilty or not, millions will rush out to buy the book or watch the movie. Why? To find out what was so bad it resulted in protests or bans.
Censors and TV
Star Trek was made famous for its first “inter-racial kiss” allowed by censors only because Kirk and Uhuru were being “controlled by aliens.” Imagine, that not so distant time-many of us remember the airing of this episode then-when censors could tell us “no, no, a white man can’t kiss a black woman.” Clever man, that Gene Rodenberry. He got around Censors in every episode with uncommon rationales for his forward-thinking ideas.
Reality TV, the Heir Apparent?
Now, we have a wild-west on television, where realistic violence and graphic sex is portrayed at nearly any time of the day, and sponsored by advertisers who would have feared the “wrath of customers” only a decade ago. Reality TV, particularly the cable network shows that push the frontier, truly tests audiences limits when it comes to “good taste” and morality.
