Marvel Comic Books

Source by Peter Gitundu

We have read them, throughout the years and have followed them like a cult following and even now as they create more films with our favorite characters we can’t help but buy the DVD. Marvel comic books have been around for a long time and have entertained us as kids and still do for most people as adults too. Who can even forget the famous words of the Hulk “smash em” or “Hulk Smash” which usually where the only words he spoke and of course “my spider senses are tingling” which was what Peter Parker, who is basically Spiderman would say when he felt trouble was on the way.

Over the years the way the comics were changed and in fact they can now be downloaded from internet or read online, which now takes comic books even further than they could get before, and they are now reaching people who had never heard of Daredevil or Electra nor read about them.

The Marvel Comic Books have through the years changed with different artist taking over the helm of drawing the character according to the original only with their design, making also the theme of the comic books change. The new ones have even changed the outfits with Wolverine’s tight yellow spandex suit being replaced with leather black and blue. The story has also changed with the times and the presidents that have come and gone as well as the disasters that have happened.

Even with all the changes that has gone on all over the world we still see fit too look for a comic store so as to see what is new in the life of Spidey, X men, Fantastic Four and many other characters that have been portrayed in the Marvel Comic Books.

Christian Audio Books – Now Available on the Internet

Source by Jesse Whitehead

In addition to Christian books printed the traditional way on paper, Christian audio books can now be easily obtained from the internet. If you are not aware of what an audiobook is, it is simply a spoken word recording of someone reading a book.

Audio books with Christian content are available in CDs, cassette tapes and by digital mp3 or wma download. They can be played back in your car, on your home sound system, or through your computer. You can easily obtain them by going online and choosing which audio books you want to buy or download.

Just like regular print books, audio books usually have lessons or teachings relevant to Christianity. There are many audiobooks available, for both young and old alike. Children love listening to stories, so an audio recording of a book is an ideal way to teach them about their faith. Teens love listening to Christian teen novels. Adults can listen to their favorite bible teacher expounding spiritual truths from the Bible, or get lost in the latest bestselling Christian novel.

Professional narrators or actors read most audio books, although the authors themselves read some. Some books even have background music, which provides for captivating listening. For elderly folks, or people who have vision problems, audiobooks provide a way to enrich their lives with good Christian literature.

For many of us, there is not enough time in the day to sit down, relax and read a book. But with an audiobook, you can listen while you are doing chores, driving your car, or doing other daily tasks.

With iPods all the rage with teenagers these days, you can encourage your son or daughter to stop listening to hip-hop for a couple of hours and listen to a Christian book recorded in audio format instead. They will be far more receptive to this suggestion than if you ask them to read a printed book.

Online book stores not only offer downloads, but you can also join a community forum of Christians who are interested in similar books as you. In an online forum of like-minded Christians, you can share your ideas and make suggestions on which audiobooks you recommend. Likewise, other people can give you their opinions on what books they can or cannot recommend as well. You will find that listening to Christian audio books is definitely a convenient way to deepen your spirituality and grow in your walk with God.

Beware – Read This Before Getting An "Accredited" Online Social Science Degree

Source by Nelson Powell

It’s very important you read this before choosing any online social science degree program or school. The information I am about to give you here will help you make the right choice, no matter what kind of online degree or course you are contemplating on acquiring. I’m about to reveal to you very important points you need to take into consideration before selecting either an online social science degree program or online social science degree institution. It amazes me how so many students end up enrolling with the wrong institutions online. Any decision concerning your education should not be embarked upon without first getting the right information.

Earning an online social science degree has many advantages. An online student can benefit from the flexibility and convenience of the learning environment provided by an online social science degree program. An online social science degree can further your career aspirations. However, choosing a program can be a confusing process. One way of identifying a suitable program is to list your goals and then go through the listed programs carefully to see which one meets your compiled list best.

There are different types of online social science degrees. You can earn an online associate’s degree, bachelors or masters degree or even acquire a course completion certification diploma. To earn an accredited masters degree online, you must possess a bachelors degree from a regular or online institution. To earn an accredited online bachelors degree, you need to have at least a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Whether you are seeking online associates, bachelors, masters, or PhD degree in business, technology, health care, or education, online degree colleges in the US will not disappoint you. There are many excellent institutions to choose from. It’s up to you to decide which one you want. You can earn a recognized online social science degree from an accredited online college without having to relocate to where the school is located. As long as the online college degrees are from an accredited organization there is no depreciation in their value. Get your accredited online college degrees. Acceptance of online college degrees from all accredited institutions is definitely on the rise.

It is more cost effective pursuing your degree online as you can cut off many expenses such as traveling or transportation cost and other college expenses since you can attend the classes online from home. In additional, many college books are in electronic format which you can view or download from the online school learning system. This saves you the expenses in buying the text book. Besides that, the tuition fee for online social science degree programs is cheaper and you can complete your degree in a much shorter time.

Flexibility to fit into one’s busy schedule is one of the major advantages offered by an online social science degree. If you are someone who is looking to enhance your knowledge and get an extra degree that is related to your career field, but you don’t intend to put on-hold your current job just to meet the purpose; then, an online social science degree offers a perfect solution. Nowadays, online social science degree programs cover almost every subject offered by traditional “brick & mortar” social science degree program, colleges/universities. You can choose one that meets your needs and fits into your busy schedule.

Sometimes, prior college credits or related work experience can shorten the amount of time it takes to complete your degree program. Generally, it usually takes about three years to complete an accredited online social science degree (This may vary in some instances). This time frame is based on a curriculum of at least twenty hours of course work a week.

Now, while there are lots of benefits attached to earning degrees online, there are also very important things to consider. Several cases were recently published of individuals falling prey to unaccredited online institutions, awarding hoax online social science degrees. There is a sham associated with the online social science degree programs offered by some online institutes. Lately a large number of cases have been reported online in which individuals after earning their desired life experience degree found out that their degrees were not accredited according to law. Imagine what would happen if you later discovered that the degree you used in applying for a job, is a “fake degree”. It’s even worse if it were discovered by your potential employer.

It would be better for you to put some effort into trying to ensure that the degree you are pursuing is from a reputable online university. It’s important you are getting a real degree. An online university which has gone through a proper accreditation process is what you need and deserve. An accredited online social science degree is a college degree that is received through Internet studies offered by an accredited college or institution. This means that the school or university that is offering the degree has been approved by a national or state board of education.

In order to offer an accredited online social science degree a college must offer its course work and lesson requirements to the board of education for approval. The board then goes through the course work and makes sure that it adheres to the industry standards for completion.

There are many universities offering different highly accredited online social science degree programs. Doing some research of the official websites of the many universities, colleges, and schools offering online social science degree courses might be particularly helpful to see which institution and program suit your time and work schedule. It is also important to ensure that the university program and the university itself is accredited and recognized by the industry. Taking the time to do such a research work can be time consuming.

But do you know there’s a, not so publicized FREE online service that keeps and updates an award winning database of accredited online institutions? Do you know that this same service does all this at no cost to degree seeking students? I and my fellow education counseling colleagues were pleasantly surprised when we discovered this silent but highly effective service. It’s has been the N0.1 service we have recommended to prospective students during our counseling sessions. I will reveal the website address of this unique service, which offers for FREE, what others are charging prospective students for.

Other unique aspects of their service which impressed us include; the fact that they help you:

* Take the guesswork out of choosing from hundreds of online schools and thousands of degree options.

* They show you the Top online schools, and match you with the one that’s best for you.

* They match you with the best schools available (and we literally mean that.). It’s truly amazing the way they do this.

* They give you the best chance of academic success based on your unique requirements through a unique degree choice and degree school matching system.

* They also help you answer any questions you can think of regarding getting your degree.

* They help you research careers by industry. They also give you information about programs by your area of interest and inform you about today’s fastest growing and most lucrative careers.

* They help you discover your personality type and what careers are best suited for you.

* They show you how much you could be worth if you get a degree.

* They simply do all the work for you! And at no cost too!

I never knew such a free service could turn out being the best service. But, I guess they do not want to be swarmed by too many requests, which explains why they rarely announce their existence. I just feel it’s a service the lucky ones among you who will read this article should benefit from. You shouldn’t have to always pay before you receive great service.

I sincerely hope they will be able to keep this service free for a long time because of information reaching us that they might have to start charging a small fee to cover their cost. Anyway, if you are reading this right now, they are still available to you.

Simply visit their website, fill their complete form and apply for their Free degree and online schools matching service. It will save you the headache of choosing the wrong school or degree program. Filling out their profile form is fast and easy. Just let them do all the work for you.

Today more than ever, it is important that you ensure that your institution of higher learning – whether online or campus-based – is accredited. It can mean the difference between continuing your education, and having to start all over. By checking your school’s accreditation up front, you will avoid finding out later that your credits may not transfer to another institution, or that your employer does not recognize your degree. This service checks this out for you at no cost too.

In summary, earning a degree online is a good option for people who are planning for career promotion or education advancement. The advantages of an online social science degree program in terms of flexibility of learning schedule and convenient of study from home enables you to plan your study to fit your busy working schedule. Getting a degree from a reputable online university will make it easy for you when entering the job market after graduation. You need to ensure you are getting a degree from the best university so that your degree will make your resume look good and attract the maximum attention in your job application. Wishing you well in your educational pursuits.

Review of How to Win the Pools Using Blueprint7 Fixed-Odds Betting

Source by Anthony F Francis

We all dream of winning the pools, but how many of us have actually won anything worth shouting about? Well there is hope yet. For to my surprise far from just ticking random numbers on a pools slip, there is a more precise way that takes out all that guessing, its called Fixed-Odds Pools?

What is Fixed-Odds Pools and how can Blueprint7 help I here you ask? Well Fixed-Odds Pools its when odds, or bets to you and me, are published and don’t change. This means they don’t vary according to how many people bet for or against the various options, they remain the same regardless of what happens. Therefore with Fixed odds pools, rather than a chance in million of winning, you could have depending on the odds set a 1 in 4. That’s where the odds are published is 1/4, which means you’d be betting your one coin against four belonging to that of the bookmaker or pools company.

In this example they are setting a probability that they believe there is only 1 chance against 4 that your chosen team will win – this is a ratio of 20% to 80%. So if you bet £1 at these odds, and your team won, you would win £4.

And this is where a book I recently came across book by Paul Forester called Blueprint7 comes in, in it he sets out in clear english, and in easy to understand methods and principals that rip the Fixed-Odds Pools wide open.

By using this precise judgment, guesswork is eliminated … and winning is turned into a mechanical – non emotional – event.

For me I can only describe it as a bit like baking a cake. Follow a good recipe and you will end up with a cake. But … try it without a recipe and all you’ll make is a sticky mess.

In addition I must stress that this is a genuine product that is perfectly legal to participate in, and information on Fixed-odds betting can be found online, and in betting shops.

So if you want to start being part of the many who don’t leave there betting to chance, then you won’t go far wrong starting off with The Paul Forester Blueprint 7 Fixed-Ods pools book.

Promoting Your "Amazon Published" Book or eBook Online

Source by Dan Grijzenhout

You’ve just gone through the work and the excitement of completing your first book or e-book and you are ready to showcase it to the world. Now, you have to get the word out and try to get some buyers for it. This by the way, is just as strenuous if not even more so than writing the book in the first place. You will realize soon enough that you have to dig deep within yourself to market what you have created to others to make the sales. One author I know when once asked how his books managed to sell so well said. “It’s easy. Write it, put it in a place where people can buy it, and then promote the heck out of it for about 3 years.”

In this article I don’t plan to discuss the myriad of things you can do outside of the Internet to promote your creation such as book signings, getting a table at trade fairs to showcase your book and give away autographed copies, trying to get retailers to sell it (if you’ve created a bound version of it), etc. The tips provided below are written to help you get maximum publicity for your book or e-book online.

Let’s start with building your online selling strategy. Where will you put your book to sell it?

The most popular choice on the Internet is Amazon. This is a very good first step for many books, particularly e-books. Amazon owns Kindle Books, the defacto leader in E-Book marketing and distribution. The whole world has heard of Kindle and there are literally millions of Kindle Readers out there that people can use to read your e-book not to mention that Kindle book reading software is available for computers, tablets and even mobile devices – so it is very easy to distribute and make your creation accessible to others. Amazon also owns “Create Space”, a second entity that can turn your E-book into a bound book that can also be sold on Amazon-Kindle and through distributors globally. If you want to “pay-market” your book through Amazon? You can do that as well through building one of their economically priced advertising campaigns.

Going through this process also gets you an ASIN number for your book or an ISBN number for your book if you wish to go that route (needed for selling hard-copy books through Create Space but not for e-books just sold on Amazon-Kindle). You can enroll your book as well into the Kindle KDP Select program which is like an online library that people pay a monthly subscription to and you can get additional royalty payments for your book from here – based on number of pages read. You can also get promotional banners from Amazon that you can put on your website or blogsite and even send in e-mails to people to further promote your book.

Bottom line is that starting out, Amazon – Kindle has a lot to offer a new self-publisher. You can literally get your book out there in under a week and start making money from it if people purchase it.

But you will need to do further work to get your book to actually sell and start earning you revenues. Your book will get onto Amazon OK, but it has to be seen and desired in order for you to make sales. There are books that have sat there for years without any sales at all so don’t think your done once you get your book published and onto the site. You have to help the sales happen by promoting it. So below is a list of things you should also be doing yourself online to get people to your Amazon purchased page to buy your book.

Be sure you build out your Author profiles on Amazon Central and on book review sites such as “Good Reads”. On Good Reads, also be sure to get your book into their “Listopia” program – so learn how to do that. Find other similar Author sites and get your name out there as well.

Consider getting out an online press release on your book as well. Make sure it has back links to where people can view and purchase your book. Take a look at “Reddit” as one possible site for this.

Promote your book on different social media platforms such as Pinterest, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, etc.

Consider building a YouTube channel and creating a promotional video for your book with linkbacks to where your book can be purchased.

Create your own “Author” blog-site to further promote your book. Traverse the Internet to get linkbacks to your site or book through guest posting, article writing, etc.

Get an automated e-mail marketing and autoresponder system in place and use it to help promote your book – build your e-mail subscriber lists!

Consider getting a podcast series going on iTunes where you can have “podcast discussions” about the content of your book. FYI – Once you get some of these built, stick an image of your book in front of them and upload these to your YouTube channel as well as “Video Podcasts”.

Keep posting and guest posting and getting yourself out there with people. The more people that know about you and your book, the better your sales will be. Build relationship bridges with other authors (EzineArticles and Good Reads are good places to do this), with book reviewers, people knowledgeable in your “book space”, etc. Get known out there.

Build a Facebook business page for your book and put your author “Good Reads” button onto your Facebook pages that can bring people back to your Author page at GoodReads. Promote your book on Facebook using the “Boost Post” feature – this is a very economical marketing platform with great targeting capabilities.

Be sure to get on Google+ and build out your profile there. Then, search for and join several communities relating to your topic area and also relating to other authors – become a positive content contributor to these communities.

In summary, if you can get through all the above steps for promoting your book online, you will be well on your way of starting to build the base needed to start earning revenues for your book. Best of luck to you in your writing career.

Document Management in the Information Age

Source by Rajat Poddar

A document can be described as a written representation of thoughts, ideas and or experiences. On the other hand, a book can be described as a collection of logically related documents. Documents come in different flavors. Some of the different types of documents include: audio documents, video documents, literary documents. In this article my references to documents will be of the literary type. Books, journals, and webpages are some of the different types of documents available to users out there. With the wealth of information available today the need for a veritable means of searching for high quality documents is imperative!

There are different methods of searching for documents. Some of the traditional ways of searching for documents or information include: Searching for books in a Public Library; Borrowing books from friends/acquaintances; Searching for books in a book store; Using search engines; and lastly Using online book portals [Library 2.0]. With the advent of the internet came about a proliferation of information: As at 2010, according to Google, there were about 130 million books in the world; As at 2011 also, there are about 267 million websites across the globe. With the overabundance of information available at the click of a mouse, a number of questions arise: how does a user find high quality documents/books? How does a user search through documents/books are at a reasonable rate? How does a user compare similar documents/books? How does a user collect documents/books? How does a user copy books/documents?

The traditional methods of information search [libraries etc.] have become deficient; a lot of the desires that book lovers all over the world want are left unfulfilled. The traditional search engines [Google e.t.c] do a better job by filtering a lot of the information for the user; however like an ex, they still leave the book lover yearning for what was missing. With unfair SEO tactics, machine based ranking of information, and other flaws, how does a user truly get to high quality content from a commercial search engine?

The concept of online book portals is the water needed to quench the fire of the relentless book lover in the search for unbiased high quality information. With book portals, collecting, preserving, organizing, selecting, bookmarking and disseminating books is a lot more convenient and a lot easier for the internet savvy user. Unfortunately, like any new ardor, there are some areas for improvement. Copyrighting issues and a lack of one primary e-book format are some of the challenges the online book portal space faces.

How to Choose Children’s Books for Your Child

Source by Anne Nicole Brooke

Reading is one of the most essential things that children should learn. Parents love to see their children getting hooked with reading books. If you think it is time for your child to start reading books, there are some considerations that you should keep in mind in choosing children’s books for your child:

1. Discover your child’s interests. Though it is impressive to see your child engrossed in reading encyclopedias, it is not enough reason for you to push only that kind of book to your child. What you need to do is to observe your child to know what his or her interests are. If you notice that your child has an affinity for animals, then you may choose to buy them a book of fables. You should always consider the interests of your child over your own. By doing so, you are cultivating his interest in reading.

2. Choose age-appropriate materials. You should consider the cognitive level of your child when choosing children’s books. Do not force them to read books which are too complex for his age. Let your child enjoy reading by choosing books that they can understand well and relate to.

3. Choose books with attractive graphics. As much as possible, buy children’s books that are appealing to the eyes. Children love colors and drawings. Once your child sees that the book you bought for them is attractive, they will be interested to explore its contents. Since children are generally visual learners, they find colorless books to be unappealing. On the other hand, books with colors and graphics will keep them interested and will enhance their imagery.

4. Choose books that teach values. Books are very influential. With this in mind, you should make sure that the books you buy for your child gives them the right influence. There are a lot of books that are written to impart golden values such as courtesy, honesty, respect, caring, sharing, etc. This is a really great way for your child to learn about these values while enjoying reading stories.

Reading can be a lot more fun for your little ones if you guide them on their first books. Read their books with them. By doing so, they will find reading to be a really important activity since you spend time to do it with them. Once they get used to reading books, they will eventually love to read more.

Lanzarote Travel Books

Source by Julie K

It might seem like a no-brainer, but before you go on vacation, pick up a good travel book about the destination. Travel books can help ensure that you get the most out of your vacation dollars. Take a look at the hotel section before you book your reservation to ensure that you’re not paying top dollar or to ensure that the hotel and price you have decided on is truly worth it.

This goes for Europe travel books as well as specific vacation books, like the guide books for Lanzarote. The Lonely Planet books are fine, but I prefer the DK travel books in the series. The maps are easy to read and the write ups are simple and factual. They are loaded with pictures and suggestions about what to see and where to eat. The DK book at my bedside right now is for the whole of the Canary Islands, not just for Lanzarote holidays. I like that, too because although I’ve hopped to the other islands, I have not spent much time on the others. Knowing about the special handcrafts on the other islands or about this or that great restaurant or bodega is really cool.

No matter the book on your bedside, you know that you need the basics. You need to know the best places to stay, shop, eat and drink. You need to know what the weather will be like and when to go for the best deals and the best weather. You need to know what museums are a must and which ones are a bust. All the best travel books have a solid traveling with kids section. Look for big, clear maps and if they fold out, that is even better.

Depending on the size of the book, new ones will set you back anywhere between $10 and $20 dollars. If you want a bargain, look online. You can buy used travel books online and usually save 50% or more. Most travel books come out in the spring, April is the most popular month, so if you are traveling in the spring, you may have to settle for last year’s travel guide. And in fact, for less popular places — like Lanzarote — you will be lucky to get a new edition of a guide book every 3 or 4 years. Of course some things will change, but the basics of museums and sights will remain steady. The bar that is touted in the book might not be there any more, but what’s a vacation without a little adventure?

A Beginner’s Guide to Reading Manga

Source by Tracey Patterson

Manga is the Japanese word for comics and cartoons in print. (Anime, on the other hand, is animated cartoon for TV or film). Even though manga is essentially a cartoon, manga holds a higher place in Japanese culture than comics do in American society. Manga is well respected as both art and as a form of popular literature. In fact, much the the adult population in Japan read manga and several major manga magazines in Japan sell several million copies each week.

This should tell you that manga is not just kid’s stuff.

What kind of story would you be interested in?

A hard-boiled detective hired to locate a missing girl?

A world dominated by animal-human hybrids in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war in 2054?

A boy-meets-girl-meets-giant-robot adventure?

A historical play revolving around the shadowy generals of the Genpei War?

A successful journalist who takes in a handsome homeless man as a pet when her fiance leaves her?

There are hundreds of stories to choose from in manga books and there is something that caters to everyone’s taste. Furthermore, many manga titles combine artful pictures and frames with nuanced stories for very entertaining and addictive reading.

Manga is generally categorized into different genres. The most popular ones include:

– shonen manga for boys and male teens

– shojo manga for girls and female teens

– kodomo for children

– redisu for adult women

– seinen for adult men

– jidaimono is historical drama

– suiri is crime and murder

– ecchi is erotic fare

So, how to get started with Manga? Easy.

1. Walk into the store. Most large booksellers have a section dedicated to manga, but to really get a range of titles, try a comic book store. Either way, manga books usually have covers in color and maybe the first few pages as well, but the rest of the story is usually in black and white.

2. Look through the books, read them a little. Stop when you find something that you like and take it home.

3. If you are comfortable with surfing the Internet, read manga online first. Do a search for one of the many directories of online manga sites and scan those sites for titles that are interesting. Many of the sites will actually show the manga book-drawing and text-from its Web site.

Remember that when you read manga, you read the frames from the right to left. Often, when you open up a manga–just like you would a regular book–there will often be a page that will tell you how to read it.

Give a few manga titles a try to get a feel for what you like. Once you find a title you like, you can look for more of the same or similar titles with that publisher. Look for the English publisher’s Web site in the front of the book, then check out that site–it will probably contain descriptions of all their books and maybe even a little sample online.
