"Compulsion" Provides Thrilling End! - Book Review by Henry April

It is almost as if they were separated at birth as twins and now they have found each other again by a macabre twist of fate."

The twins? Well, they just happen to be serial killers starring in " Compulsion " by Jennifer Chase!

Interestingly these two individuals have very different reasons for killing; however, their reasons are so complementary that, instead of acting separately, as most serial killers do, these two have formed a close relationship–like no other!

Emily Stone is an unusual chara...

How Much Research is Essential for a Crime Thriller?

I love to do research. This can be a thorn in many writers' sides, but I really enjoy this part of the creative process. Just think about it… you learn something new every time you conduct research. You actually can learn a new fact that you didn't know yesterday.

It's quite amazing when you begin to outline the story you want to write, you realize all the little details that you need to research to give your story that added dimension. Even though I've studied intensely about forensics and...

Bringing Your Passion to the Written Word

I feel so fortunate to be pursuing a career in which I am able to integrate my passion for forensic psychology and criminology with my love for writing. Using the information I learned in the classroom and through independent research to bring to life the character of Emily Stone has been an amazing journey so far. If you have read Compulsion or Dead Game , you know that I also share a love for photography and related technology with Emily. She uses her equipment to track pedophiles and seria...

Tea Time with Marce - Book Interview of "Compulsion" and "Dead Game"

My Review - by Tea Time with Marce " Dead Game "I love a good serial killer story, this one could have got 5 from me if it gave gruesome details and had me on the edge of my seat, but it didn't. I think this is a perfect read for those that enjoy a thriller but want the G rated version. The concept of the story made me think of the movies Saw, so I was excited to read it but without the details I felt cheated. The good thing is I loved the characters, so much so that I will go back and read...

What Do Crime Scenes Tell Us?

Understanding and interpreting a crime scene is much like a three-dimensional puzzle, generally with more questions than answers. However, the exigent circumstances are that the investigator needs to come up with some answers immediately and hopefully the name and whereabouts of the perpetrator. This is most crucial during a homicide investigation when there's a killer on the loose.

Basically, the crime scene in the preliminary investigative stage is divided into four categories: evidence, wit...

What is the Appropriate Punishment for Children Who Kill?

In my first Emily Stone novel, Compulsion , the main character spends a great deal of her time and resources investigating criminals who prey upon children. She uses her natural instincts and the latest technology to track down pedophiles, rapists, and murderers who are terrorizing her community and then passes along the evidence she gathers to the appropriate members of law enforcement. But, what happens when the person who commits the crime is a child? How should we react when the members...

"In this Video Game , Game Over means You're Dead"

Book Review of "Dead Game" beau angelnz of Paula Zone

Novels about Virtual Killers are one of those things that pop up now and again, and they always make for interesting reads. This novel has one of those looks and feels about it that the killer could be related to Jigsaw from movies "Saw". This novel incorporates two storylines and does a brillant job of interweaving them together.

We have Emily Stone and her partner Rick Lopez playing the Phantom Detective duo and helping bring Child...

Spend a Saturday Afternoon Outside in a Country Garden

This is one of my favorite times of the year with the annual Aromas Country Garden Tour! I actually get to mix some of my favorite things together, being outside with nature, thriller novels, and meeting new people. It doesn't get any better than that!

I will be spending the afternoon nestled in one of the town's most beautiful gardens with both of my books available for purchase, Compulsion and Dead Game. I will be answering questions and I would love to meet other garden and thriller...
