Low Cost Print Advertising for Authors
Reader-Teaser is a print magazine that was created to help authors gain more attention because marketing on the internet alone has become overcrowded and saturated. Each issue gets distributed to thousands of locations and is designed to give readers outside of the internet a view of the writing talent that’s available online.
Writers use the Reader-Teaser to display excerpts from their books, short-stories, poems, humor, screen-writings and everything else writers write about.
THE TOP TWO REASONS WHY THE READER-TEASER IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE TOOL FOR WRITERS:
Exclusive AttentionUltra-Low Cost for PRINT Advertising
Reader-Teaser was created specifically because there are millions of published books and writings available on the internet. Internet marketing alone reduces book sales for YOU the individual writer because of this massive and growing variety readers have to choose from.
The writers featured in each issue get exclusive attention by the hundreds of thousands of readers Reader-Teaser reaches because: Each issue only allows for a limited group of writers.
With This Formula, the Odds Are Put in Your FavorTO AN EXTREME
The second reason why the Reader-Teaser is such a valuable commodity for promoting books and writings is the ultra-low cost to advertise in a PRINT magazine. Print advertising is expensive because of the process it takes to manufacture and distribute. Advertisers pay the price because print produces results. To writers, Reader-Teaser currently sells space by the word for nickels and dimes. One full page in our magazine costs a fraction of what it would be anywhere else.
ALL Writers Can Afford To Be SeenBy the Hundreds of Thousands of Readers Reader-Teaser ReachesWITHOUT THE HIGH COST OF PRINT ADVERTISING
Quick, Easy, Affordable and Effective Promoting.
On average, the Reader-Teaser reaches over 200,000 readers each issue. It gets distributed as a free magazine in thousands of locations, including:

World Building: The Land of The Hazel Tree by Julia Debski

The land where The Hazel Tree is set in a parallel world to the one we live in. Ivy and everyone else live on planet Earth, but it’s very different to this one.

Geography

Geographically, the world is the same. The continents just as green, and the oceans just as deep. The Orarius Pack (or the Costal Pack) is located in northeastern North America. It reaches from North Carolina to Quebec but only goes as far west West Virginia and Toronto. The capital, where Matthias and Ivy live, is in the North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains, as that is where the territory began before it expanded to its current size. The Mara Negra Pack (Black Sea Pack) lies in southeastern Europe and the Middle East. This means the territory covers Romania and Ukraine, through Turkey, to Georgia, Lebanon and Azerbaijan. (Google is your friend!!)

Religion
There are hundreds of religions among the werewolves all over the world, but they all revolve around the moon in one way or another, hazel trees and water. The main religion of the Orarius pack, and across the Earth, believes the first nine packs of the world were born from nine hazel trees which grew around a sacred pool. The men emerged from the water and the women from the trees. They were mated in pairs and began the Alpha lines – from one of which Matthias is descended.

History
Despite the different religions and beliefs the wolves have about the origins of werewolves in this world, werewolves and humans evolved next to one another - one didn’t come before the other. Unfortunately, werewolves’ physical superiority meant that humans got left behind in more ways than one. They became servants and slaves, and fell prey to disease. Humans ended up dying out a couple hundred years before Ivy was born. Since then, they have become a symbol of weakness.

Book Description:
The Hazel Tree revisits a classic Cinderella tale of abuse and sought after freedom from the confines of a cruel life.
Ivy Lune is not your ordinary girl for within her blood flows the secrets of an ancient species of werewolf; a secret that also foretells of a great war and a struggle for ultimate supremacy.
Ivy lives a life of isolation torment at the hands of her aunt and cousins for the majority of her life. Mistreated and neglected, she longs to escape the shackles of her prison-like life. And in that longing, she learns the truth of her identity. She learns her place in a long line of events that were set into motion many years ago. She finds intimacy and belonging in a much larger family.
All the while, unknown to her, there are dangerous forces are at work; old blood ties and murderous plots threaten her chance at happiness beyond her current life.
The Hazel Tree is a tale of mystery and romance set against a supernatural backdrop of terrifying and awesome power.

Julia Debski was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1996. Her family moved around a lot during her childhood before finally settling down in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It wasn't until the 8th grade that she found her passion for writing. It was thanks to a particularly inspiring English teacher and a story that needed to be told. So she began to write, and she never stopped.
Four years later she found herself with nearly a dozen started novels and short stories. As junior in high school she was introduced to Greg Wilkey, a self-published independent author of four novels. He soon became a mentor to her as she worked to write and self-publish her own novel. After two years of hard work, and a nearly a year of mentorship The Hazel Tree was published in October 2013.

Character Interview with Grayson KinkaideBy: Sondra Jacobs
This interview is for a newspaper article about Kinkaide & Associates. It takes place about two months after Grayson and Samantha meet.
I had the pleasure of sitting with Mr. Grayson Kinkaide to discuss his business, his children and a little bit about his personal life. First of all, I would like to start by saying, Mr. Kinkaide leaves quite an impression. He is handsome, intelligent and I saw a little bit of a sense of humor. He’s also, quite a catch, though; this reporter believes he has been caught. Here are a few excerpts of my interview with Gray.1. Please tell me a little bit about yourself.
a. Okay. To begin, I am the father of three children. Jackson, Sarah and Ethan. I am the grandfather of two grandchildren, Lily and Lincoln, whose mother is my daughter Sarah.I am an architect and founder of Kinkaide & Associates, formerly Kinkaide Architects and Engineering. 2. What type of buildings does Kinkaide & Associates design?a. We design any type of building you can imagine. My architects are the best in the business and together, we have designed bank buildings, sky scrapers, small shopping malls, larger industrial type buildings as well as hospitals, clinics and restaurants.
3. I understand your children work with you. Can you tell me what they do for you and how that works out?a. Yes, I am very fortunate to have all three of my children, as well as my brother working with me at the firm. My son Jax is a demolition expert and served in the Army in that capacity. Now that he is home, he heads up the demolition arm of Kinkaide & Associates.b. My daughter Sarah is our accountant. She went to college here in Green Bay at UWGB and has her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She does a tremendous job for us.c. My son Ethan is also an architect. He served in the Army as well and now designs buildings with me and the rest of the architects.d. My brother Jamie, heads up the engineering division of Kinkaide & Associates.
4. So you haven’t mentioned anything about a wife. Are you married Mr. Kinkaide?a. I am not married however, I am seeing a beautiful woman at the time, who is very, very special to me. I foresee a long and bright future with her.
5. Well, that sounds intriguing. How did you meet this beautiful woman?a. I met her at my attorney’s office. She manages his office.
6. People will be dying to know, was it love at first sight?a. I doubt people reading an article about an architectural firm will be dying to know about my personal life. But, since I am feeling rather generous today, let me just say, yes, for me it was love at first sight.
7. Okay, point taken. Tell me what you have planned for the future of Kinkaide & Associates.a. We are in the process of finishing up a large project in the Oshkosh area. This has taken several of us several months to design. It’s a large manufacturing project for a company that has recently been awarding military contracts. They are expanding in a big way and Kinkaide & Associates was fortunate enough to win the bid to design the new facility.
After this project is finished, we have several buildings in various stages of design and build. It never stops for us, which is good.
On the demolition side of things, we are incredibly busy. My son Jax is growing at an astounding rate right now and he is becoming well known around the country. I can see that part of our business really taking off.
8. That’s all wonderful news. Great for the local economy too. What do you do when you are not designing or blowing up buildings?a. I have a love of gardening and so does my girlfriend. We also have a large project we are working on together on the fourth floor of my building at Kinkaide & Associates. We have been spending a good deal of time working up there. We also motorcycle a bit. Mostly, we spend time with each other and our families.
9. Thank you very much for your time Mr. Kinkaide, I appreciate how busy you are. One last question and I’ll let you get back to work. Are their wedding bells in your future?a. With a wink and a smile, Mr. Kinkaide answered, “Ms. Jacobs, you’ll know when everyone else knows.”

I was born in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri named Bridgeton. During my time in Missouri, I explored the Ozarks, swam in the Mississippi River, played kickball and endless games of hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. Spending summers in Kentucky with my Grandmother, Ruth, are the fondest childhood memories for me.
At the age of thirteen, my family moved to Wisconsin to learn to farm. Yes, learn to farm! That was interesting. Taking city kids and throwing them on a farm with twenty-eight cows purchased from the Humane Society because they had been abused, was interesting. I learned to milk cows, the ins and outs of a breeding schedule, feeding schedule and the never ending haying in the summer and trying to stay warm in the winter. Our first winter in Wisconsin, we had thirty-six inches of snow in one storm and were snowed in our house for three days! Needless to say, I wasn’t loving Wisconsin.
I am now married with four children and two grandchildren and a new one on the way this summer. I have learned to love Wisconsin, though I still hate snow. Wisconsin and the United States are beautiful and my husband and I travel around by motorcycle seeing new sites and meeting new people. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are interested in where we are going and what we have seen along the way. At every gas station, restaurant and hotel, we have people come up to us and ask us about what we are doing and offering advice on which roads in the area are better than others and great rides others have been on if we are interested.
I come from a family of veterans. My grandfathers, father, brother and two of my sons and one daughter-in-law are all veterans. Needless to say, I am proud. Proud to be an American and proud of the service my amazing family has given.

Book Description:
Powerful yet tormented modern warlock Quinn Fairmont must initiate the silver-eyed Cade Mairston into the world of witchfinders, Withinners, and what can happen when two men fall truly, madly, deeply in love.
THE WORLD IN SHADOW
In modern London there lurks a warlock, Quinn Fairmont. Dangerous, powerful, tortured, sharing his body with the soul of an ancient Welsh sorcerer, Quinn is never alone—and never wholly himself. He fights against all those who would exploit his kind. He takes pleasure where he can find it.
In the forest of Hampstead Heath, Quinn’s hometown, Cade Mairston appears to him like a waking dream. Lithe, lean and silver-eyed, he evokes feelings in Quinn unlike any other: lust with true affection, immediate and shocking. Cade is clearly more than he seems. And yet, if a man of the world, Cade is innocent. He knows nothing of warlocks, witchfinders or Withinners. He knows nothing of what he is, what he might be, or what he might feel. For him, the story is just beginning. Magyck, peril and passion await.

At the age of eight, her family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa where she stayed for nearly thirty years before arriving back in the UK in December 2000. She has written ten novels, two novellas and a screenplay since February 2012 and clearly believes in keeping herself busy. She has found herself wanting to stay in the genre that is M/M Romance so more can definitely be expected.
Sue is a member of Romance Writers of America and Romantic Novelists Association in the UK. She is also a member of a rather unique writing group, called the Talliston Writer’s Circle, which in itself has a story all of its own to tell and lives in the rural village of Bocking, in Essex, with her family. Her plan is to keep writing as long as her muse sits upon her shoulder. Her dream is to one day make enough money to give up the day job and get that big old house in the English countryside overlooking a river, where she can write all day and continue to indulge her passion for telling stories.

Music Playlist and Giveaway for Dead Awakenings by Rebekah R. Ganiere

Hi! I'm Rebekah. Thanx so much for having me today! My debut novel Dead Awakenings is an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance about Deaders. A new form of Reanimated Undead.
I frequently get asked if I have a playlist I like to listen to when I write or if I write without noise. I have to have noise when I write. I have four kids that I home school and if there isn't noise around me I get antsy and think there's something wrong. I can't stand silence. Unless I'm asleep. I have to have total quite when I'm sleeping.
But when I'm writing I like to have the television on for noise, or I have a specific playlist. I've been listening to some of these songs for a long time. I've always loved music. I've been able to deal with emotions through songs before. It hits me hard. I cry to so many songs when I hear them, yeah I'm sensitive that way.
Anyway, since music touches me so deeply, I use it as a tool in my writing. I write Tortured Alpha Males and Kick Ass Heroines. I have no problems with the heroes. They actually are really easy for me to write. The heroines are a different story though. I have problems sometimes getting them to come across well. So I need a bit of help. And for that help, I turn to some tough and amazing singers.
Pink! Yes, Pink. She is my favorite tough, balls to the wall, all out female. Her music is strong, and inspires me to write hard hitting females who don't take crap from people. Even though they are sensitive inside.
Kelly Clarkson. I love her music. She has strong women songs, but she also has many touching songs that hit me deep, so I like the emotion behind her singing.
Katy Perry. I think she is great. Her songs are fun and uplifting and teach people to be who they are.
For strong males, I like Green Day, Live, Train, Imagine Dragons, Fun and several others.
My actual list looks like this:Pink – Just Give Me a ReasonKelly Clarkson – Dark SideTrain – 50 Ways To Say GoodbyeChristina Perri – Jar of HeartsPink – Bad InfluenceKelly Clarkson – BreakawayPink – U + UR handSarah Bareilles – BraveKaty Perry – RoarJordin Sparks – BattlefieldImagine Dragons – DemonsJean Simon – CupsPassenger – Let Her GoGreen Day – 21 GunsPink – Try
I love music. If I had to choose between going blind and going deaf, I would choose to go blind. It would be tough, but I know I couldn't live without music.
Thanx a bunch for having me today! I hope that when you read my writing you can hear a bit of these songs in them. Feel free to let me know if you do, and what your favorite songs are, or what songs you write to.

Book Description:
Evaine, a struggling New York theater student, enters an unsanctioned drug trial in an effort to pay bills. She awakens in a derelict hospital, chained to a bed with no memory of who she is, or how she got there. A band of pale skinned men, led by the gorgeous Luca, burst in, whisking her away to safety.
Once at Haven House, Evaine is introduced to The Family. Like them, she has become A Deader, a reanimated Undead.
Luca is hell-bent on stopping the experimentations, and killing those responsible. He has no time for a Newborn who is struggling to control her rages, hunger, and powers. Nor does he have the desire to deal with the feelings she's awakening within him.
Despite their best efforts, Evaine and Luca find their connection intensifying when suddenly, she remembers not only who she is, but also her fiancé, Tristan; who is still looking for her.
Torn between her first love and her new heart’s desire, Evaine runs back to Tristan putting everyone in danger. When a rogue faction of Deaders, called Feeders, attempts to kidnap her, Luca suspects Evaine is the key to the experiments.
Can everyone band together to keep Evaine off the cutting table of those she escaped from? Or will second death tear her away from everyone, for good?

Rebekah grew up on both the east and west coasts and currently lives in the Los Angeles area. From the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein to The Stand by Stephen King, Rebekah immersed herself in other people's made up worlds. She began writing in junior high and then found she liked pretending to be other people's characters in high school. Lettering in drama she went on to study theater in college as well. After college she continued acting till becoming a mom. Ultimately, she ended up going back to writing her characters down instead of acting them out, so she could stay at home with her kids.
Rebekah is a member of Romance Writers of America and is a board member of both the Fantasy, Futuristic, & Paranormal and her local Los Angeles chapters. When she isn't spending time telling the lives of the characters constantly chattering inside her head, you can find her with her husband and four children; reading comic books, gaming, at the movies or taking care of the menagerie of pets. A dog, a rabbit, two bearded dragons, and three tortoises. Wonder woman, the escaped snake, has yet to be located.

Interview with lazarusInfinity Author of Exodus: A Requiem for Jacob Forlorn

What inspired you to become an author?
Even though I started writing when I was eight years old, I never took writing seriously and the thought of being a published author never entered my head. Being one of those nerdy kids who always finished his work in class early, I would make up stories on the spot and write them down. Once my third grade teacher caught what I was doing, she read my work and told me to “Just keep writing.” For years, my mother always told me I’d be a published author but I never believed her and even laughed at the thought. My first love growing up was always acting. I started performing when I was eight and did that all the way through college. Writing was something that was just always there, evolving from writing short stories in elementary school to plays and screenplays in college. The wake up call came about 3 years ago when I was laid off from a job I’d held for 6 years. Being unemployed for the first time really made me wonder what I would do, and that’s when I stumbled across an article about indie publishing and the potential for success. Once again, my mother’s words rang in my head and it started from there.
Do you have a specific writing style?
Although I try to evolve and experiment with different styles, my work is very down to earth and conversational in tone, along with being very visual. I’m pretty fearless as a writer, and will often say things or describe situations that most people wouldn’t dare touch. Looking back on it, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Growing up in the most dangerous neighborhood in New Orleans, you learn to be fearless and take risks. EXODUS is not a story that everyone will gravitate toward; there are parts that will make readers laugh and there are parts that will make readers cringe and empathize with the main character. It’s a very dark story of what happens to a man who’s been destroyed by love and betrayal. This is not Twilight or 50 Shades of Grey.
Do you write in different genres?
Yes. In addition to EXODUS and its sequel REVELATION, I’ve also written a zombie apocalypse short story that deals with an outbreak infecting New Orleans right in the middle of the Super Bowl/Mardi Gras. I even have a children’s book out and the next novel coming soon will be a romantic comedy. I like mixing it up a bit so that I don’t get stale.
If yes which is your favorite genre to write?
Although I’m a fan of mysteries and thrillers, I try to keep an open mind and experiment with multiple genres. It all depends on the story. I tend to believe that if you can build a loyal following, your readers will follow you in whatever genre you write. Coming from a background that includes both playwriting and screenwriting, I tend to draw from everything I’ve learned and use it to the best of my advantage.
How did you come up with the title for your latest book?
Oddly enough, I’ve never brainstormed a title in my life. Whenever the idea for a story comes, the title is usually the next thing to follow, and it always works. Most of the time, I don’t even know where the stuff I write comes from. I sit at my laptop and something just happens that I’ve never been able to explain.
Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?
The title always comes immediately after I get the premise of the story. Whenever I’m in the middle of one story, usually another story idea will come along followed by the title for that one. So I usually will have a to-do list of about 3 or 4 titles fully thought out and ready to work on in the future.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
In EXODUS and REVELATION, the message is simple: Be careful with who you fall in love with and what you allow yourself to believe in. It can come back to bite you in the long run.
Is the book, characters, or any scenes based on a true life experience, someone you know, or events in your own life?
The book is loosely based on experiences and horror stories I’ve heard about from friends and other people. These stories all culminated in this idea about a guy trying to do the right things with the wrong women, and what that betrayal would do to him. It’s a character study loosely influenced in the vein of OTHELLO meets ANGEL HEART. We’ve all heard stories and songs, read books or watched movies about what women go through in bad relationships. Those stories will never grow old. I wanted to go against the grain and tell the story of what a man goes through in that situation. Let’s take a good guy, put him in a bad situation with a beautiful woman who cannot be trusted and couple that with dark nightmares and supernatural visions. What would that do to a person mentally, physically and spiritually? What would that drive a man to?
What books/authors have influenced your life?
Everyone from authors and playwrights to actors, directors and screenwriters has influenced me. For anyone looking to really study and appreciate the craft of writing, check out THE ART OF DRAMATIC WRITING by Lajos Egri. The principles in that book are universal, working for everything from novels to plays and screenplays. Authors that have influenced me are Steven King, Ernest Hemingway, James Baldwin, Richard Wright and Zora Neale Hurston to name a few. Screenwriters and directors include Spike Lee, Scott Frank, Aaron Sorkin, Steven Spielberg, Charlie Chaplin and Bernardo Bertolucci. One of my biggest influences since getting involved in publishing has been an old friend I haven’t seen in nearly 20 years. Back when I was in high school studying acting, this guy was in the same class and we always fantasized about the day when we’d become established actors. Over the years after college, I lost focus and faith and struggled from one job to another. He went on to study at Juilliard and has worked with everyone from Spike Lee to Clint Eastwood. Just seeing him enjoy the level of success he’s accomplished has inspired me to not only work harder as a writer, but also to one day get back into actor’s training and relive my first love. Being a Hollywood star isn’t my goal anymore, but to go through the training and have the guts to get back on stage and do good work is definitely a dream of mine.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Spike Lee for certain. I can still remember being a young teenager in the theatre when Do the Right Thing came out. I was completely blown away by what I saw on that screen, and am still inspired by it to this day. Greats like Ernest Hemingway, August Wilson and Arthur Miller are others that I constantly look to for guidance.
What book are you reading now?
Physics of the Impossible by Dr. Michio Kaku.
What books are in your to read pile?
The Future of the Mind, by Dr. Michio KakuDoctor Sleep, by Steven KingInferno, by Dan BrownThe Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald
What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
The novel that I’m currently working on is called PORN AGAIN, which is loosely based on my years in adult retail. The synopsis is below:
“What’s it like working in a sex store?”
That’s a question that Harper ‘Happy’ Downman will soon learn the meaning of…in more ways than one.The poster child for middle-class America, Happy is your typical button-down, conservative Christian American with a quaint home, a lovely wife and a dull sex life. At the height of the Great Recession, a drastic turn of events in both his personal and professional life rocks Happy’s world to its very core. All seems lost…that is until his lecherous older brother comes to the rescue with a ‘stimulating’ solution that’s sure to raise more than just eyebrows within his eccentric family.Relocating to the decadent, hedonistic streets of New Orleans, he soon finds that he’s way out of his league. In a world of porn, sex toys and interesting characters, Happy takes a memorable journey of sex, love and relationships that he will never forget.Porn Again is a funny and insightful romp proving that it’s not always the people who work in a sex store that you have to worry about. Sometimes it’s the people who shop there.
Read it with someone you ****… In addition to PORN AGAIN, I’m also working on the screen version of OCCUPATION and will be shopping around for an agent.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?Please see the sample for Exodus: A Requiem for Jacob Forlorn.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? The biggest challenge is putting the ideas for other stories out of my head so I can focus on finishing whatever I’m currently working on. Whenever I’m in the middle of one story, the title, characters and premise for the next one or two stories will always pop up. I have a to-do list of at least 3 or 4 stories that I will be working on at some point in the future.Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? Ernest Hemingway. He has one of the most unique and compelling voices I’ve ever experienced. I also love how he managed to put so much of himself into his writing. That’s something that I aspire to.
Do you have to travel much to do research for your books?Unfortunately, traveling is something that I’ve never had the ability to do, for financial reasons. I remember being a kid and getting the gift of a globe for my birthday. I would spend hours spinning that globe and fantasizing about traveling to places like Paris, London, Rome and Tokyo one day. It’s still a goal of mine, and to travel for research on a book would be an added bonus.
Who designed the cover of your latest book?Ryan Doan Illustration & Photography designed the covers for EXODUS and REVELATION. For my upcoming novel PORN AGAIN, Kit Foster Design did the cover, which has picked a lot of great feedback. For more info, you can find them here:www.ryandoan.photoshelter.comwww.kitfosterdesign.com
Do you have any advice for other writers?Write from the heart, write what you want to read and don’t be afraid to be true to your voice. Not everyone is going to love everything you write, and while it’s great to be a commercially successful author, it’s also great to be able to take risks and help push the envelope. As a writer, I have no fear so that’s been one of my biggest assets. I’m not afraid to try new things or go places where most writers won’t go. That coupled with a background in both playwriting and screenwriting means that the possibilities are endless. I didn’t understand that years ago but I get it now. Another thing I would stress to other writers that I’m also still learning is to take the craft seriously. Being an indie author still comes with the stigma of being unprofessional, so you want to eliminate that as much as possible. Study the marketplace. Do your research. Get your book covers professionally done and your material edited. Always look for ways to get your work in front of as many readers as possible and never give up.
Do you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this book?1) House of the Rising Sun-The Animals2) Me and the Devil-Gil Scott-Heron3) Glad to be Unhappy Remixed-Billie Holiday4) Trouble-Coldplay5) Letters from the Sky-Civil Twilight6) I’m Into You-Chet Baker7) Give Into Me-Michael Jackson8) O Death-Ralph Stanley9) Ain’t No Grave-Johnny Cash10) Love Song #3-Meshell Ndegeocello
11) Hail Mary-Tupac

"Just keep writing." Out of those simple words grew a dream that would instill a profound sense of purpose within a young kid born and raised in New Orleans, LA. With only his dreams along with an insatiable drive to be the best he could be, this writer would grow from penning children's literature in the 3rd grade to later writing stageplays and screenplays in college. Heavily influenced by a who's who of incredible writers from Langston Hughes, Claude McKay and Ralph Ellison all the way to August Wilson, Arthur Miller and Aaron Sorkin, lazarusInfinity has continued to stretch his creative boundaries to encompass all forms of writing. In addition to writing contemporary fiction and children's stories, he is currently at work on several screenplays along with another novel.

Book Description:
Only a vampire is man enough to teach werewolves how to fight.
Pretty librarian Sugar wants her life to stay quiet. That’s hard enough when friends and neighbors turn into furry werewolves every full moon. But when a hot vampire gets involved, life’s bound to get complicated.
The Omegas have always been the pansies of the paranormal. Now Chicago’s top werewolf pack has issued them a life or death challenge. Their only option: hire a vampire warrior to teach them the moves.
Daedalus has been a powerful vampire for ages. Intrigued by the chance to train the geeks of the underworld, he wasn’t bargaining on losing his heart to a human. Can he make the Omegas a success, fit into Sugar’s quiet life, and avoid being ripped to shreds in the process?
The Omegas Excerpt:
Chapter One
Eric strode into the living room holding an envelope. “I found the solution to our problem.” Sugar uncurled her legs from under her and sat straighter as she watched Eric’s lanky form approach. They had both survived growing-up in the same low income neighborhood. Friendship forged in such fires never died.He handed her a letter and joined the rest of his pack lounging on her mismatched furniture.Sugar examined the front, then the back of it. “Pal Robi Incorporated. What’s this?” “It’s our salvation.” Eric shifted in his seat to lean forward. “Read it to everyone.”She glanced at him with a questioning look. What was he up to? Slidding her fingernail under the corner, she tore it open. The letter was printed on good quality paper with a huge golden company emblem stamped at the top. An errant blond curl slid in front of her eyes and she shoved it back behind her ear.
To the Omega pack:I have reviewed the details of your plight. Pal Robi Incorporated deals mostly in security issues, but I find your problem worthy of my personal attention. Enclosed you will find a non-negotiable contract. Please review it closely, and have your signature notarized. The return fax number is listed on the contract so proceedings can begin. Mail the original to my office. Thank you for your business.Sincerely,Daedalus Pal Robi
Cold claws of fear gripped her stomach. What had Eric done? “You hired a vampire?” Her shout shattered the silence around them. The other wolf shifters responded to her outburst with low growls directed at Eric. What had she gotten herself tangled in? She wasn’t pack, just a plain vanilla human. The Omegas were her neighbors and also her closest friends, each of them an outcasts from their old packs. Driven by loneliness, Eric had solicited Sugar to help him search for others like himself. Werewolves with no attitude. Geeks of the underworld. Pansies of the paranormal.Their friendship spanned years, since high school, when he’d rescued her from a home of drug abuse. Eric had treated her like a little sister, advising her on life in general. When he survived his werewolf attack, both their worlds shattered and their roles reversed.Eric found four others to join him: Sam, Tyler, Katrina and Robert. No alphas ruled in this pack. They needed each other, so they became a family. All five lived in the apartment next to her.Eyes wide, Eric held his hands out in front of him. “Mr. Pal Robi is offering to teach us how to fight.”Sugar tilted her head as she surveyed her friend. “Yeah, for a substantial fee. How can you guys afford this?” He always thought with his heart.Eric looked at his pack, pleading. “Before you make any judgments, let’s have Sugar read the contract out loud.”She held it in front of her.
This is an agreement between Pal Robi Incorporated and Eric, Sam, Katrina, Tyler, and Robert, from here forward to be known as the Omegas.
Scope:1. Pal Robi Inc. will provide to the Omegas, training in defense, hand-to-hand combat and small weapons use.2. Training will take place for the duration of the period beginning with the trainer’s arrival until the challenge date.3. Combat training is inherently dangerous. Pal Robi Inc. is not responsible for injury or death sustained during such training.4. Trainer will not intentionally hurt and-or kill any Omega during the period of this agreement.
Responsibilities of the Omegas:1. Omegas will provide trainer from Pal Robi with appropriate lodgings.2. Omegas will provide daylight security of said trainer.3. Omegas will submit to the direction of the trainer without question for the duration of the training.
Fees:1. Omegas agree to pay Pal Robi Inc. $8,000 in cash prior to the beginning of training.2. In addition, Omegas will provide the trainer with fresh, consumable blood upon request.
Penalties:1. Failure to provide payment renders this agreement null and void.2. Failure to abide by the terms specified represents a breach of contract which renders the agreement null and void.3. Breach of contract will result in an immediate investigation. Vengeance will be swift and unmerciful.
Sugar placed the contract on her lap while waiting for their reactions.Robert held up his hand to speak, like a kid in a classroom. She sighed. How could this pack of puppies fight a pack of wolves? “Robert, speak up. You don’t need to ask permission to talk anymore, remember?”He grinned sheepishly. “What do they mean ‘vengeance will be swift and unmerciful?’”They turned to Eric, but it was Tyler who answered. “It means if anything happens to the vamp, we can kiss our asses goodbye.”Sugar folded the letter closed. She agreed with Tyler. Vampires were bad news. Literally, all over the news swearing they had turned a new leaf and won’t hunt humans anymore. Wouldn’t catch her becoming a donor any time soon.Eric stood and faced his pack mates, staring at each one in turn. “How can we not hire him? The Ayumu pack officially challenged us. One of us has to fight and beat one of their alphas in a month. There’s no other way.”“We will be absorbed again,” Katrina whispered in her thick Asian accent, as she hugged her knees tight against her chest. Being a submissive female in a pack equated to being anyone’s meat. Sugar had tried to help Katrina come to terms with those old wounds, but they kept her captive.Tyler shuffled closer to Katrina, petting her long, black, silken tresses. She shrank from him, fear etched on her delicate features. He looked at Sugar and shrugged. She crumpled the letter in her hand. How did preying on weaker members of the pack equate to strength? She just couldn’t understand shifter culture.“You should run away.” The weight of Sugar’s words hung in the sudden silence.Eric crossed his arms. “There will always be another Ayumu pack wherever we go. We’re finally happy. We have jobs, friends, and a home. It’s all worth fighting for, right guys?”Sugar watched her friends’ expressions harden and her heart sank. So it would be a fight. They nodded to each other, sealing their fates. There went their quiet life.Worst of all, a vampire would be moving in next door.* * * *Daedalus Pal Robi strode across the foyer of his house and tossed his car keys to a passing vampire. “Can you park it the garage for me? I’m done hunting for the night.” He pointed to a piece of wood protruding from his abdomen. That was a close call. He would let the others think the vampire-gone-bad he’d been hunting and finally killed had done this. In truth, a clumsy fall almost ended his long existence. The human police were discovering decapitated bodies in the river. They thought a serial killer responsible so far. Daedalus knew better, decapitation was an excellent way to hide bite marks, as well as burning the bodies or shredding the flesh to make it look like a shifter kill. As Nosferatu Prime of Northeastern America, it was his responsibility to take care of these issues before the humans did. Vampires didn’t need more bad publicity. History did that for them.Daedalus killed the lazy son-of-demon. It didn’t take much effort tracking and staking him. In his over-confidence, Daedalus had spun around to leave and tripped on a fucking extension cord. It sent him flying face forward onto an antique wood chair, hence the chair leg sticking out of his stomach. A little to the left and two inches higher and a pile of dust would all that would have been left of him. His nest mate stared at the injury. “Do you need help, Master?”“Nah. Just a flesh wound. It won’t take long to heal.” He closed the door to his study behind him and crossed the room to the fireplace. Leaning against the mantle with one hand, he wrapped the other around the wood shaft. He took a deep breath and yanked the son of a bitch out. “Fuck.” Wood burned. It didn’t matter where in the body it stabbed him. He tossed the piece into the fire and rested his forehead against the mantle. Blood trickled from the wound in a steady thin stream. He’d have to feed to finish the healing process. He pressed his hand to the wound and retreated to his comfy chair close to the fireplace. That was too close. If he’d perished, how would people remember him? The Infernal Champion of the Brotherhood, Vile Butcher of Babylon, and Subjugator of the Accords, to name a few of his titles. For the last two hundred years he’d been trying to be good. Whatever that meant. It started out as an experiment but over the last century it had transformed into a true desire. After an age of depravity and lack of role models, he still wasn’t clear what he should and shouldn’t be doing. The Vampire Council ordered no killing of humans so he enforced that law to the best of his ability. If a few unsavory ones vanished in the night and nobody missed them then he turned the other way. Ridding the human race of evil doers seemed good. Someone knocked on the door.He jerked in his chair at the sharp noise and stifled a moan at the stabbing pain. Careless again. Too lost in his thoughts, he hadn’t heard the footsteps. He’d grown complacent in job surrounded by his loyal nest. “What?” Yanking his leather jacket closed, he hid his healing injury. The door cracked open and Clementine, his vampire secretary, stepped inside, her eyes downcast as always. She hurried across the room and handed him a large business envelope. “This arrived while you were gone, Master.” “Thank you.” He glanced at the return address, glimpsing the word Chicago, and fingered the edges of the seal. It wouldn’t behoove a Prime to tear it open like a boy on Christmas morning. “Could you call for a donor to attend me, Clementine? I feel like eating in tonight.” She bobbed her head and backed out of the room. One day she’d stop fearing him, he hoped. Ripping open the envelope, he saw what he’d been hoping for. The shifters signed the contract. He could afford to leave his nest for a few months and take this small side job. He grinned and buzzed his personal security team.“Yes, Master?”“We’re going to Chicago tomorrow night. Come by my study so we can make arrangements.” Training a few shifters to defend themselves seemed like a good thing to do.

The Alpha Excerpt:
Chapter One
Tyler followed Eric into the kitchen with Robert and Sam in tow. “What’s wrong with you, Eric? You almost lost control of your beast.”
Running his fingers through his hair, he tried to hide the blush heating his cheeks. Spice is home. He’d lost hope of ever seeing her again. The desire in her eyes when he loosened her jacket and the smell from her pussy set his beast-side on a craze.
I, Eric Turner, the geek next door, turned her on. The sexiest, most confident girl he’d ever met, his high school obsession.
“Sorry, she took me off guard.” He looked at Robert, his calm, overly serious second in command of the pack, who shook his head at him. “Damn, I almost changed in front of her. What a disaster.” Eric’s mouth went dry.
Sam handed him a glass of water. If anyone understood losing control of his beast, it was him. Ever since the Omegas conquered the Ayumu werewolf pack, their females kept knocking on the door. The bodybuilder had trouble refusing them, and his beast liked the attention. He didn’t completely transform mid-intercourse anymore but they heard his howls.
Eric needed to stop thinking of the pack as Ayumu. They were all Omegas now and he their alpha. The sip of water he tried to swallow went down the wrong way and blocked his windpipe. Nothing came out, not a cough and not a breath.
“Eric?” Sam asked.
Katrina scurried into the kitchen. “I make tea. You want some?” She stopped. “What is wrong with Eric?”
He coughed out a manly squeak and pointed to his throat.
Redheaded Tyler pushed pass Sam and pounded on his back.
Not a moment later Spice sashayed into the room. Even in his distress, her presence drew him like a magnet to iron.
A solid smack on his back set off a cough. He expelled the water from his throat, and it landed on her generous, rounded chest.
She stood with arms out at her sides, and her mouth hung open.
“Smooth, real smooth.” Sam patted him on the shoulder and exited the room. The others followed in silence but a few seconds later, Eric heard their restrained laughter from the direction of the living room.
He grabbed a dish towel from the rack by the sink and raced over to her. “I’m sorry.” Without a coherent thought in his scrambled brain, he dried her tight, white sweater.
Tension in her shoulders as he bent over to stroke around her curves clued him in that he’d done another boneheaded maneuver.
Her intense stare weakened his knees as he glanced up with her breast cupped in his hand. The urge to fondle it sent a shiver up his spine, but the ingrained gentleman inside of him beat down the beast, who wanted more than just a touch.
He jerked his hand away. “Sorry.” Alphas shouldn’t apologize that much. Daedalus would kick his ass if he heard him.
Eric straightened and swept the annoying hair out of his eyes. Why did he decide to let it grow? Who cared if all those guys in romance books had long freaking hair?
“Don’t be.” She gave him a small, seductive smile.
He kept waiting for this wet dream to end.
“Who’s Daedalus?”
Nothing more deflating to a man’s ego than to ask about the resident stud vampire. “Sugar’s boyfriend.”
“The one she has to ask permission to cut her hair. Then you’re not together?”
“No.” That question showed how much she paid attention to them as kids. He and Sugar had been best friends since sixth grade. Dating her would be like dating a sister. Even though they were identical twins, Spice got placed in a different category from Sugar. She topped the list for the five-finger-knuckle-shuffle when he needed it.
She leaned closer and ran her finger down his chest. It left a trail of heat along his skin. “What’s happened since I left two years ago?” Gesturing around the room, she raised an eyebrow. “New house, new boyfriend, new friends, and…” She stepped to press against his body and gazed at him with green sparkling eyes. “New Eric.”
Where did he start? We hired a Nosferatu vampire to teach us how to fight about a year ago, who by the way, is banging your twin sister. Oh yeah, all of us are werewolves, except Sugar, and I defeated the local alpha in a fight to the death so it made me top wolf in Chicago.
“Nothing much. We pay rent to Sugar and live here.” The old Eric she referred to still resided inside of him. He still liked Star Trek, ‘live long and prosper,’ worked from home for a computer software company, and read as much as Sugar.
His heart twisted a little. She didn’t like him; she liked the changes the beast made inside of him. After the werewolf attack, his eyesight returned to twenty-twenty. He got stronger and faster, which meant leaner and more muscular.
She moved back and placed her hands on her hips. “Six of you live under this roof?”
“Seven. Daedalus lives here too.”
Shaking her head, she grinned and looked at the floor. “Unbelievable.”
He heard the front door open and close. “I’ve got Thai.” Sugar’s voice, higher and more musical than Spice’s, called out.
“What’s going on?” Daedalus must have given her a ride from work. “Why are you guys so serious?”

The Beta Excerpt
Chapter One
Another man exited the building not long after the vampire. He wore a rumpled button-down, short-sleeved shirt tucked into loose jeans. His mouse brown hair cried for a cut and a comb.
He pushed his glasses up his nose and bent to tie his running shoes.
Recognizing him as the person who had accompanied Daedalus earlier, Esther heard opportunity knocking. He didn’t look like a threat being thin and weak. She crossed the street and approached him from behind. “Excuse me. Do you have the time?”
Glancing over his shoulder, his gaze traveled along her bare legs, to her knee length loose skirt, and finally met her stare. Her breath caught in her throat. The irises of his eyes reflected a non-existent light and shone pale amber. He blinked and it vanished, must have been the glasses that gave such a strange effect.
He rose in a single fluid motion that set her predator alarm off. Checking his cellphone, he gave her a shy smile. “It’s ten after two.” He scanned the area around them. “This is a dangerous part of town, ma’am. You shouldn’t walk around alone. Trouble is going to find you.”
Or maybe find him. She eyed his wiry arms and changed her assessment of him. Lean, tight muscles slid under his skin as he moved. He wasn’t weak, more like a cross between a martial artist and a geek.
“Are you offering to walk me home?” Flashing him her most flirtatious smile, she toyed with a piece of her hair.
He swallowed. “S-sure.” Shuffling to her side, he fell in next to her, eyes darting around them.
Men were so easy to manipulate, but this one actually wanted to protect her. So cute, she could have pinched him. Trying to be discreet, she took quick peeks at him. Nice strong chin and straight nose. Maybe a hint of freckles? It was difficult to tell in the dark.
“I’m Esther.” She held out her hand. What the hell prompted her to use her real name?
Wrapping a firm hand around hers, he shook it. “I’m Robert.”
His touch sent tingles along her arm. The name seemed too mature for him. “What are you doing out so late, Rob?” How did such a polite man like him get involved with a Nosferatu? She checked his neck for bites and didn’t see anything, but there were more places on the body to feed from besides the neck. It would be a shame if he was a blood slave.
“Robert is fine. I was checking on a…friend.” He stuffed his hands in his pockets. “And you, Esther?”
She laughed. “I’m up to no good.” And she winked at him.
A rosy blush surfaced on his cheeks as he stumbled.
Something in this man attracted the devil inside of her. She entangled her arm around his and leaned into his hard body. The strength hidden under the geeky exterior sent a pleasant shiver through her body. Not all things were as they appeared. She hated surprises but not this one. If this was an act then he deserved an Emmy. She glanced at him, pleased that she needed to arch her neck back slightly to meet his sharp green gaze.
God, what was she doing? She assessed him like a potential lover instead of a possible avenue to get her mark. Stupid, focus. Once Daedalus was out of the picture she’d come back for Rob if she still wanted him. Until then…she stopped in front of a duplex. “This is my place.” She lied with the ease of an expert.

Book Description:
Some things are best to forget. But what if the past won't be forgotten?
Born in China of a pure shifter bloodline, Katrina was raised with only one purpose--to breed. Abused by her alpha, she runs away to America as soon as she can. With a new pack and her true mate, she thinks the nightmare is behind her, but when she is abducted on the streets of Chinatown, Katrina must face her past and fight for her freedom.
It took Tyler a year to earn Katrina's love, another to build her confidence and pride, and only a moment to lose her. Broken-hearted, Tyler won't give up his search for Katrina. But he never trained as a warrior like the other shifters. What chance does a real estate agent have in the fight for his mate?
WARNING: Explicit shifter sex, heartbroken torment, and an unstoppable shifter in love.
Omega’s In Love Excerpt:
An antique red archway covered the entrance to the tourist trap to keep evil spirits away and good luck in. Sticking his hand in his jacket pocket, he rubbed the small, velvet jewelry box he’d placed there earlier today. He could use all the luck he could get–just because Katrina was his mate, didn’t mean she’d agree to get married.
Raised in an all-wolf-shifter community in rural Mongolia, she didn’t think like American shifters. Like him. He took a deep, shaky breath. Marriage was a foreign ritual to her.
He’d chosen this location not just for his superstitions, but for its significance. Katrina worked in the area, a place where the old Asian world met the new, as an interpreter for some of the local companies.
She waited under the arch, facing him, her delicate eyebrows furrowed. An Asian man he didn’t recognize spoke with her.
Facing the stranger’s back, Tyler could only see his short black hair and long fall trench coat.
A sharp stab of jealousy drove him to quicken his pace. He couldn’t help it. As a shifter, possession was nine-tenths of the law, and Katrina belonged to him.
Passing half a dozen souvenir shops offering cheap trinkets, Tyler trotted along Wentworth Avenue. Katrina’s raised voice reached his ears, but he couldn’t understand Mandarin. He growled low in his chest. His mate didn’t yell often.
Three other men broke from the crowd and surrounded the arguing couple.
Tyler’s heart rate took off like a locomotive on a downhill slide. He smelled shifters. Non-Vasi shifters on their territory. Surrounding his mate.
The Asian stranger grabbed her arm and yanked her into his embrace.
“Hey!” It took every ounce of Tyler’s control to keep his beast from busting out on the tourist filled streets of Chicago’s biggest attraction. He shoved the stranger from behind, knocking Katrina from his arms.
She stumbled and landed hard on the ground. Tears stained her cheeks. The cold wind blew strands of long, black hair across her face.
“Get your hands off her.” He bent to help her, but the stranger blocked him. Straightening, Tyler glared at Katrina’s assailant and met a cold, dark stare.
His beast rose closer to the surface and clouded his thoughts. She belonged to him and this male thought to block his way. The only solution was to tear this asshole limb from limb. “Get out of my way.” He spoke each word separately and clearly to get his point across.
“This is none of your concern.” The stranger spoke with a thick accent like Katrina’s.
“You’re on Vasi territory. Anything that happens here is my concern. And she belongs to me.” Tyler pointed to Katrina, then back to himself.
“Chinatown is not Vasi territory. Never has been and never will be. And this female mated me before she ran away.” Crossing his arms, the stranger planted himself in front of Tyler. “She still belongs to me and has never been yours to take.”
Tyler’s jaw hung as if on broken hinges. He shot her a questioning look, but she stared at the ground, not meeting his gaze. Katrina hated to speak about her past. Now, he knew why.
She wiped her face, huddled on the ground, and didn’t deny a thing.
Every bit of joy in his life lay with Katrina, but truth’s claws dug into his heart. He didn’t know which hurt more, the lies or the way she hunched on the ground, submitting to this stranger like an omega all over again.

To defend and protect, at any cost.
Sam is Sigma of his pack, defender of the innocent and frail. Too bad the one time it mattered most, though the urge to guard the weak runs strong in his shifter blood, he failed to protect his best friend from an attack. Just when his self-confidence can't go any lower, he becomes entangled in a vampire skirmish and is left with an injured female in his arms.
Vampire accountant for Pal Robi, Inc., Clementine can't believe her master would ask her to commit corporate espionage. She’s shot when discovered, but a shifter comes to her rescue. It's as if he's made of her fantasies, and in the few hours with him she lives more than the decades she's spent among her clan.
Hiding with him on the streets of Chicago, in the midst of fighting together to stay alive, can a petite vampire break through her hero’s jaded heart?
WARNING: Hot dominating sex, an action packed evening, and a first date gone all to hell.
Sigma Excerpt: Sam ground his teeth at Clementine’s stubbornness and hovered around her in case she fell.
Blood soaked the back of her pink t-shirt and dripped, leaving a gruesome trail as she walked along the exterior balcony toward their motel room on the second floor. “You paid with cash like I told you?” She weaved on unsteady feet.
“Yes, ma’am.” He barely had enough money in his wallet to buy a soda now. “No credit card to track.” He reached out to grab her elbow, but she swatted his fingertips. Reflexively, he shook the sting away. “Playing tough and insisting on walking doesn’t get you brownie points if you pass out.”
He unlocked and opened their room door. The scent of cheap air freshener and stale sweat swept over him. He turned and sneezed.
“Bless you.”
He wiped his mouth. “Thanks.” Wasn’t there some supernatural law against vampires being polite? “It smells odd in here.” She leaned against the door frame and pointed to the faded yellow bed. “Can you pull off the blanket?”
“We got what we paid for, a cheap-ass room. At least they don’t charge by the hour.” He winked and did as Clementine asked, then watched as she crawled onto their bed, lying on her stomach. “What can I do to help?” The deep red stain continued to spread under his scrutiny. “When Daedalus was staked, he didn’t bleed like this.”
She twisted around and whispered, “You were there?” With her blue eyes wide, she appeared very young, but vampires were experts at fooling people. Clementine could be five hundred years old, for all he knew. With a wig, Daedalus looked twenty, younger than Sugar.
He chuckled at the memory and recalled the expression of horror on Sugar’s face. “It happened in my old apartment.”
“You’re one of the original Omegas?”
“You make it sound like a bad thing.” They’d had five pack members at the beginning, before Daedalus came and changed everything. Now they numbered in the triple digits and were called the Vasi. He pointed at her wound. “Can you bleed to death?”
She rolled back onto her stomach. “No, but I’ll need to feed before the blood lust takes over me. You have to remove the bullet.”
He grabbed the edge of her shirt and tore it open, exposing her back.
She hissed and glared at him over her shoulder. “I could have taken it off.”
Pasting mock surprise on his face, he laid a hand on his chest. “Where’s the fun in that?” Not waiting for her response, he went into the bathroom and washed off his pocketknife. A pair of tweezers would have been handy. And some gauze. He grabbed a face cloth instead. “Do I need to sterilize my knife or find some antiseptic?”
“I’m a vampire. Disease doesn’t plague us.”
He shrugged off her prickly tone, betting she was as gentle as the sound of her name on his lips. “Good, because I can’t provide either.” On his knees, he straddled her legs and leaned forward to examine her wound. He planted his palm between her shoulder blades.
“What--” She struggled under him. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t want you to move.” Using his shifter strength, he shoved her flat against the bed and wiped the blood away. “Stop wiggling so much. It’s distracting.”
“Not like you can do more damage.” Her words came out muffled.
“No, but you’re turning me on.”
She went limp, her breathing heavy and strained.
He couldn’t help but chuckle. This shitty day was getting better. Using the tip of the pocketknife, he gently probed her wound. “Tell me if it hurts.” The hole in her flesh was deep. It appeared as if her backbone had absorbed the impact of the bullet. Damn, vampires were tough.

Shattered in forgotten memories.
Sugar survived a shifter attack but it left her broken. Paralyzed on the left side, she fights for her independence in her day-to-day life. Her worst injury, the scars on her soul, has her pushing Daedalus away. How could he still love her when she is just a shadow of herself? But a new threat on Daedalus’ life yanks the veil of self-pity from her eyes and she’s resolved to protect him, even precariously balanced with her cane.
The vampire council sends an emissary to Daedalus. His clan brother, another Nosferatu, hands him an ultimatum. Return to his post as Prime in Pal Robi or he’ll kill Sugar and her shifter friends. Daedalus has brought enough trouble into Sugar’s life. He won’t be responsible for more, so he agrees to leave Chicago.
To both warriors surprise, Sugar’s not willing to remain behind, and with her own shifter guards she’s ready to help Daedalus regain control of Pal Robi.
Prima Excerpt:
As soon as he closed the sliding glass door shut, Daedalus would bet his bank account that his conversation with Pallas would only have a pretense of privacy. Shifter hearing could be miraculous, especially when pressed to cracked-open windows. The distant sound of a chair clattering to the floor in the dining room reached his own sensitive hearing. He could picture his housemates scrambling to find the best places to eavesdrop.
Pallas strode to the center of the moonlit garden. “So the rumors are true. You’ve lost your mind.”
Daedalus chuckled. The other Nosferatu hadn’t changed. They’d been close once. “Maybe. I wish the one about you was true.”
Pallas spun around. “Which one?”
“You being dead.”
“That would be too convenient.” A familiar crooked smile bloomed on his ugly face.
Daedalus laughed louder and shook Pallas’s hand, squeezing his fingers together as hard as he could.
“You’re such an ass.” Bearer of bad news or not, he was still a brother, a tie to his past, and a comrade at arms.
Pallas returned his strong grip. “I learned from the best.” His clan brother, and he used that term loosely since they weren’t born from the same parents, bore the trademark appearance of their people—bald, pale, and deadly. “You’re creating quite a stir in the council, enough for them to coerce me to wake and seek you out.”
They released the painful handshake, and Daedalus shook his numb fingers, grinning as Pallas did the same. “You can tell them, for once, I’m happy.”
He snorted. “Like they care. I can’t believe you’re living with shifters again.” He made a distasteful noise. “Nasty habit. They said you left your post.”
“I did, and I left it in good hands.” Then the fools were killed and the traitors who took over tried to have him assassinated, but Pallas didn’t need to know that.
“Your company is in chaos. I went there before arriving here.”
“No.” Pal Robi Inc. was his private security company, hence it being named after him. What better than hiring an almost indestructible vampire as a guard? The company also served as a front for the vampire political structure in his area. Vampires had revealed themselves, with the other supernatural creatures, to humans fifteen years ago. Vampires were expected to follow human laws and their government, but vampire society had had these things in place long before humans had figured out how to organize themselves. The Vampire Council didn’t expect their people to follow human laws, but Pal Robi Inc. was developed to give his people legal jobs and to police their hunting. In other words, if a vampire couldn’t feed without killing, it was his responsibility to stop that person before humans were aware of it.
“I didn’t assign those who presently think they are running my company.”
Pallas sighed. “Are they under your command?” He gave Daedalus a pointed stare. “Currently.”
“No.” Daedalus shrugged. “How much damage can they do? The last thing they want is to draw the Council’s attention. I haven’t truly lost control.”
“Your estate is abandoned.”
“It’s not abandoned. I dispersed my staff to other tasks, and there’s a shifter house sitter. You probably scared the shit out of him.” He’d have to call Stephen and check on him. The young shifter didn't like company, let alone drop-ins from hell.
“A little scare never killed anyone. The council wants you to straighten things out at Pal Robi Inc. and return to your post as Prime. Things are falling apart in the area.”
An alien sourness curdled his stomach. He examined the odd sensation and decided he didn’t like the source. “Or what?” This visit was expected. Not Pallas himself but someone the council would send. The Prime kept the peace among vampirekind in his area. Sort of like a sheriff. If those traitors hadn’t been so greedy and tried to kill him, things would still be fine.
“They’ll make me kill everyone at Pal Robi Inc…” Pallas’s gaze wandered to the house, “…and here.”
“Do you think you can defeat me?” It had been ages since he’d fought one of his own kind. Living among the Vasi pack had softened him.
A hard shield fell over Pallas’s eyes. “Yes.”

Guest Blog, Excerpt and Giveaway: Eternal Mixture Shevaun DeLucia

Behind My Writing
My journey as a writer/author began a little later in life. I never dreamt that I would write a book at the age of 30—or ever, for that matter. Other than being a mom, I never knew exactly where I fit in as far as a career goes. But I realized every writer needs to start somewhere. Whether it’s dreaming as a child, studying in college, or beginning in the adult years as I have, it doesn’t matter how we get here. We all end up with the same goal: to see our own words printed on paper.
About five years ago, after reading a book, I recall closing it with a crazy thought of writing my own, with my own desired ending. I laughed at myself. Me, writing my own novel? Was I crazy? Had I lost my mind? Maybe I had. What did I have to lose, though? If I failed, I’d still be a book lover, just not a writer.
I sat down at my computer and began spewing out words through my fingers, anything and everything that came to my mind. My thoughts became sentences, and my sentences became pages, and my pages became a book: my first book. I went through the editing process and even queried some agents. I finally decided, after many denials, that it was time to chalk the book up to a good learning experience. I locked it up and threw away the key.
I continued to write and enrolled in some college courses, any classes that my writing could benefit from. That’s when I began my second attempt at a novel.Writing Eternal Mixture has been a thrill! It’s been full of the emotional ups and downs that come with gaining self-confidence while experiencing something new. I spent many waking minutes glued to my computer. Though my family found me obsessed at times, they now understand what hard work looks like.
I made a decision to follow my dream, and in that moment, I had to stop caring what others would think. I’m the first to admit, it’s scary to put your most sacred work out on display for the whole world to critique and analyze. But, this is my dream and mine alone. I didn’t want to have any regrets, so I forged on!
With each person who takes the time to read my book and shares positive thoughts, I have a confirmation that I have chosen the right path for myself. Dreams can come true with hard work.
I just want to say thank you Fang-tastic Books for allowing me to be your guest. Thank you to the readers who’ve taken the chance and those who intend on taking the chance on Eternal Mixture! You all rock!!

Excerpt: A part of the first chapter
I head over to the library to kill some time before my next class. It’s quiet and peaceful in there, and I always feel a wave of calmness when walking through those doors. I think it may have something to do with all these words that have come together, creating stories, written by all these amazing authors who now surround me. I love books. Something about seeing through someone else’s eyes and living a mere moment in someone else’s life soothes me. I take a seat at the table in the back, take out Christopher Pike’s Blood Thirst from my book bag, and dive into the book. The main character, Sita, is so empowering, bold, and immortal, yet carefree and fragile all at once. The thought of living a thousand years is so intriguing but ultimately depressing, having to outlive everyone and anyone who enters your life. Still, it makes me wonder, what would I give to have all eternity in my hands? As I contemplate this, I hear a chair skid across the carpet in front of me. I slowly bring my book down, low enough to peek over. I furrow my brows. “Can I help you?” I ask the boy sitting at the table across from me, feeling a bit perplexed and apprehensive. A smirk spreads across his face as his smoky golden eyes bore into mine. “No, just taking in the view,” the boy answers back with swagger. Is this kid crazy or something? I know he can’t possibly be talking about me, and the library isn’t much to look at either. I glance behind me. “The view, huh? Kinda hard to believe, since we’re sitting in a library,” I comment sarcastically. “Very true. But I wasn’t talking about the scenery; I was more or less talking about you,” he replies. “My name is Brent,” he says while extending his hand for me to shake. Immediately, I feel the thump-thump, thump-thump of my heart pumping with great intensity. An ice-cold shiver rushes down my arms and throughout my body, and I can’t help but stare at his soft, pristinely manicured hand, as though touching it would be the death of me. An end to all means. But most of all, I’m afraid of the burning scar his touch might leave on me. I continue to stare at him, not sure where this is going. He eventually drops his hand. I’m kind of wondering if maybe this is a joke, like he was put up to this or something. Maybe I’m being punked and everyone is hiding behind the bookcases, waiting for him to make a fool out of me. But Brent just continues to gawk at me with this indescribable charisma. I feel as though he’s drawing me in with the golden blaze of his eyes but making me question his intentions with a devilish grin. “Ahem.” Brent clears his throat, looking amused, and leans his head to the side, waving his hand to get my attention. “Oh, sorry. I’m Raina,” I finally reply after leaving my trance. “Hi, Raina. It’s nice to finally meet you,” he says, as though he’s been waiting for this moment his entire life. “Finally?” I question, feeling the blood rush to my cheeks. “You say that as though we should already know each other.” I watch as he adjusts his shoulders and reassesses himself before responding. “I saw you in the hallway this morning and then again in the cafeteria. I just felt like you were someone I wanted to meet,” he confesses. “The cafeteria felt a little crowded, with all eyes on me, so I left to get some air,” Brent finishes, shrugging his shoulders. “And you followed me here?” I can’t believe that just came out of my mouth. Of course he’s not stalking me! Why would anyone want to do that? “I wasn’t stalking you, if that’s what you’re thinking. When I passed by, I saw you sitting alone. I felt like this was my chance to introduce myself without any watchers lurking,” he admits with a kind of sincerity. At least, I think he’s being sincere. Before I can even respond, the bell rings. I stand up and quickly gather my book off the table to place in my book bag. I push in my chair and smile at him as he begins to stand up. I turn to walk away, not knowing what else to say to him. An intense warmth stings my hand, goose bumps rage through my skin as my hair rises from my body. I pause slowly, turn around, and look down. Brent’s hand is now touching mine. “Raina, when can I see you again?” The energy from his hand is climbing through my every limb, awakening the parts of me that lay dormant for so long. “Why would you want to see me again?” I question, a little dumbfounded, taking my hand back. He steps closer. “Because I like you.” Straight to the point. I turn slowly around, not sure how to answer this, and I can feel the heat off his body as he walks beside me. I stop when we get to the glass doors. “Listen, you seem nice and all, but I have a boyfriend,” I say, leaving him speechless. I’m completely shocked that this lie just came rolling off my tongue so easily. I hate lying, but I hate being let down even more so, and I’m sure that’s just what he would do eventually.

Short Excerpt:
“Lilly.”
Oh God. It’s him. There’s no mistaking that rich, masculine treble.
What’s he doing down here?
“M-Mr. Stonehart,” I stutter, turning. I curse my inability to hide my surprise. He totally caught me off-guard. I have to look up to meet his eyes. Then up some more.
The face that I find is so striking it should belong to a Greek god.
He’s younger than I expected. Late thirties, maybe early forties.
That means he started his company when he was younger than me!
Dark scruff lines his angular cheeks. His jet-black hair is styled in long, natural waves. My fingers itch to run through it.

He has a prominent nose that might be too big on a less imposing man, but on him, it’s perfect.
In short, he’s a package of the purest masculinity I’ve ever seen.
And then there are his eyes. Oh my God. His eyes. They pierce into me like honing missiles. They are the deepest black I have ever seen. They would be frightening if they weren’t so beautiful. When the light reflects a certain way, you catch a glimpse of the purple underneath.
They are like midnight sapphires. His eyes reveal a cunning intellect. Those eyes do not miss a thing.
Add all that to his towering height, his wide shoulders, his confident-yet-at-ease posture… and Stonehart cuts an intimidating figure.
My gaze darts to his left hand before I can stop it. No ring. He’s unmarried.
He looks down at me, expectantly. His eyes narrow ever so slightly, and I feel like I’m being dissected, measured up, and tucked away in some small corner of his brain. I imagine this is what a gemstone feels like under the magnifying class of the most critical appraiser.
Stonehart clears his throat. I come to with a start, realizing I haven’t said anything in ages. I open my mouth, but the capacity for speech seems like a foreign concept to my brain. “I—”
Somebody bumps into me from behind. I stagger forward. I’m not used to these shoes, so my heel steps the wrong way. My ankle twists under me, and I start to fall.
I don’t fall far. The hand still on my elbow tightens, and Stonehart pulls me into him.
I plaster myself onto the solid steel wall the man has for a body. I catch a scent of his cologne. It’s a deep, musky smell with a hint of charred spruce that is all male. It scrambles my thoughts even more.
“Sorry!” a rushed voice calls out. From the corner of my eye, I see the postman giving a hurried, apologetic wave.
Although the sequence lasts less than a second, it feels like an eternity. Pressed up against him like that, I don’t want to move. I know that I couldn’t have made a worse first impression.
Stonehart eases me off him with a firm yet gentle grip. Our eyes meet. I flush the most vibrant red. His fingers graze my forehead as he brushes a lock of hair out of my face.
Any tenderness I may have imagined vanishes when Stonehart takes out his cell. He long dials a key and growls an order. “Steven. See the delivery boy leaving right now? Have his building pass revoked.”
I gape. Stonehart keeps speaking. “Wait. I thought of one better. Bar his company from accessing the building.” There’s a pause. “For how long? Indefinitely. FedEx can talk to me when they have an improved employee selection program in place.”
The phone call gives me just enough time to compose myself. My heart’s still beating out of my chest. But nobody has to know that.
I speak without thinking. “You’re going to restrict the entire company from serving this building because of that?”
Stonehart humors me with an answer. “A company’s employees are its most important asset. Their behavior reflects the organization as a whole. If FedEx decided that clown is good enough for them, it tells me they’re sloppy. I do not do business with sloppy organizations.”
“What about the other tenants in the building?” I ask. “Won’t that piss them off?”
When I hear myself and realize how improper my question is, my cheeks flame red again.
Stonehart’s eyes darken, as if he cannot believe I asked that question. I open my mouth to apologize for my imprudence, hating the way my professional skills have evaporated into thin air. I’m cut off by a short, barked laugh.
“Miss Ryder.” He sounds amused. “I believe that is the most direct and honest question anybody has dared ask me in weeks.” He takes my elbow again and leads me to the elevators. I have to take two quick steps to match one of his long strides.
“Yes,” he continues. “They will be ‘pissed off.’ But the perk of owning a building—” he hits the elevator call button, “—is that you get to make executive decisions.” He gives me an unreadable glance as the doors open. “That is, at the risk of being questioned by inexperienced interns.”
If that isn’t a loaded remark, I don’t know what is. I flush scarlet red for the third time since I’ve met him. I’ve never had a man throw me so off balance.
The elevator is packed, for which I’m infinitely thankful. The trip up will give me some time to properlycompose myself.
Gratitude turns to panic when the crowd files out, meek as mice, when Stonehart steps in. None of the people waiting in the lobby follow us.
The doors close. I’m alone in here with him. My heart’s beating as fast as a hummingbird’s wings.
He catches me staring. “Impressed?” he asks.
“They know you,” I manage.
His dark eyes flash with amusement. “Astute.”

Interview: After the Summerland The Witches of Spring Hill By Patricia Proctor

Hi! Thank you so much for having me on Fang-Tastic Books! I’m thrilled to be here and excited to share a little about one of the characters in my book, After the Summerland, the first book in the Witches of Spring Hill Series available now on Amazon.
After the Summerland is a book about sixteen-year-old fraternal triplets, Chloe, Rowan, and Kaiden Alexander, who discover they are the reincarnation of three powerful witches and they are living on sacred land that magnifies their abilities. It isn’t a coincidence that they learn about this just as another set of fraternal triplets moves to town. Cian, Xavier, and Brianna Silvan know all about the Alexander triplets and have moved to Spring Hill for a very specific purpose. Their attraction to each other is just as powerful as their distrust, but in order to overcome the force of dark magic bearing down on them, they have to find a way to come together and defeat a power unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.
Rowan Alexander is one of my favorite characters in this book. She’s a little bit snarky, has a mind of her own, isn’t impressed by boys who chase her, and tells it like it is. Here is a character interview that will give your readers insight into this fiery girl.
Name: Rowan Alexander
Nickname: Red, but Xavier Silvan is the only person that calls me that and I hate it when he does!
Bio: I’m sixteen years old, I live in Spring Hill, North Carolina, I’m a fraternal triplet – I have a brother and a sister, I only like school because of the social aspect, though I’m actually super smart and get good grades, I can’t wait to get out of Spring Hill, oh, and I’m a witch.
Physical description: I’m totally the best looking out of the three of us! (LOL) I’m 5’6”, and have long, auburn hair that I wear both curly and straight, and I have green eyes.
What’s it like being a triplet?
What’s it not like? I don’t know. We don’t look alike so most people don’t know we are triplets, unless they know us, like everyone here in Spring Hill does. But since we’ve found out that we’re witches, we do seem to have a deeper connection, but I don’t know if that’s because we’re witches or if it’s because we’re triplets. It’s like I can sense when Chloe or Kaiden are happy or sad, angry or hurt. It’s kind of cool.
Did you really have no idea at all that you were a witch?
No, not at all. Chloe says that she knew something all along, but I’ve never had any kind of feeling about it. I wish I would’ve though – I was shocked and angry at my dad when I found out.
How has becoming a witch changed you?
I feel closer to Chloe and Kaiden now, well, they don’t annoy me as much as they used to, and I don’t mind being outdoors as much – I actually like going to the clearing and practicing spells. Once my abilities manifest, I’m sure I’ll change a lot more. I just hope it happens soon... I hate being last at anything.
How do you feel about keeping a secret that you’re a witch from all of your friends?
I don’t really care. My dad says it will change the way people look at us, but I don’t think my friends would act any different. They’d probably wish they were witches too. I’m used to keeping secrets though. Since my dad is the chief of police, I’m always finding out things about people in town that I’m not supposed to know.
What did you think when you first laid eyes on Xavier Silvan?
Ugh... I mean, he’s hot, but he’s probably like every other boy. His hair’s cool, and he’s got these eyes... they’re really dark, almost black. But he seems cocky, and I hate that.
What about the other Silvans, Brianna and Cian? How do you feel about them?
I don’t trust any of them. Brianna is pretty, I guess, but she seems like she’s needy and I hate that. Cian’s cute in a quirky, weird kind of way – he’s the nicest so far. I still don’t trust him though. I have a feeling that Chloe likes Cian more than she’s letting on, but I just know that they’re all keeping something from us and I’m not letting my guard down until I find out what they’re doing here in Spring Hill.
Tell us something about your sister, Chloe, and your brother, Kaiden.
Chloe acts like she’s all honest and open, but I know she’s got secrets of her own—I just haven’t found out what they are... yet. And Kaiden is very protective of the people he loves. Even though he intentionally annoys me, and acts like he doesn’t care about us – he’s very protective of us.
What is your best/worst quality?
I have a good sense of fashion – I dress well, definitely better than Chloe. My worst quality, I guess, is that I can be mean. But who isn’t sometimes?
What do you want for your future?
I want my abilities to manifest! I also want to leave Spring Hill— I want to see new places! Other than that, I’m not sure. I just want an adventure...
What is your biggest fear?
Being weak, especially because of a boy. I’ve seen girls in school get all weepy and sad if a boy doesn’t say ‘hi’. I guess I’m afraid of loving someone so much that they could turn me into that.
What is your favorite thing about being a witch?
I like the power that comes with it. Even though I can’t do anything yet, I’ve seen what Chloe and Kaiden can do and I just know my ability will be better than theirs – that’s why it hasn’t manifested yet, right?
You’ll have to read the series to find out more... but there’s a little bit about one of my favorite characters in the Witches of Spring Hill series! I hope you enjoyed it and thanks again for featuring me on your blog!
