Changes At Ravenous Romance...

I literally just found out that Lori Perkins, editorial director at Ravenous Romance, resigned last Friday. You can read more in an announcement she made on her blog, here.

It was a very busy Monday. I've had deadlines with one publisher and I've been multi-tasking with issues at Amazon. I didn't have time to read my e-mails until about an hour ago, which is something I rarely put off all day.

I have had a lot of titles published with Ravenous in the past four years and I've enjoyed working wit...

On Literary Authors Switching to Genre

I posted about genre authors switching genres the other day, and now I would like to follow up with a link about how some literary authors seem to be switching to genre fiction.

I find this more than interesting. And if this is a trend what does it say about where literary fiction stands today?

It's a very insightful article, and one that makes me wonder how many more changes we can expect. I would guess that the same people who weren't taking e-publishing and e-books very seriously two or thre...

25% of Amazon Book Sales Come from Fifty Shades of Grey

I'm always looking for interesting posts about books and e-books. I was going to post something about Jeff Rivera, but then I read about a slight kerfuffle he had last spring and decided not to go there. I don't know Jeff, but I once wrote a piece about his web site and he personally thanked me in a very nice way. He seems like a nice guy and I hear he's a good author. And I tend not to follow online flame wars too closely.

To ignore Fifty Shades of Grey nowadays is practically impossible. My...

On Authors Switching Genres...

Authors switching genres is a topic that has fascinated me for a while. Mainly because I've written in other genres and I like writing in other genres. As a career writer I like to think...though I may be the only one who agrees...that I can write anything in any genre I want. In fact, it's more of a challenge to write in another genre after a writer has been working in one genre for a long time.

Now, whether or not readers will follow an author to another genre is a completely different matte...

Apple Going After Google...

This article doesn't sound like Apple is playing around. I read Steve Jobs' bio and he wasn't joking around either.

"I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product," he (Jobs) said, according to biographer Walter Issacson. "I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

I have both Apple products and an Android tablet. I like both for different reasons, so it's interesting to watch them fight this out. What's very interesting is that all tech companies steal from each other. Jobs h...

Hollywood Crowd Dishes Up $40,000 Plate Dinner for Prez

This is a bipartisan post. I could apply it to the other presidential candidate as well. I'm sure he's had his fair share of five figure dinners to raise money, too. I stay out of taking sides when it comes to politics, but I'm not afraid to voice an opinion about politics in a general sense with a bipartisan POV...something we don't see often anymore.

I also understand politics and I understand that nowadays politicians need money in order to run a campaign. What I don't understand is why I'...

Release Day: Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street

"Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street" was released late last night...it takes more than twelve hours to upload e-books to Amazon for publication so I'm never really certain the exact time it will be for sale.

This book is different from anything I've done before because it gets into light BDSM...nothing too strong...and it's more serious on many levels. It's not a parody of anything and the two main characters who meet and fall in love share not only a strong bond but something else they didn't kn...

"50 Shades of Louisa May"

This is truly too entertaining not to share:

As listed in Publisher's Marketplace:

Louisa May Anonymous's 50 SHADES OF LOUISA MAY, imagining the secret sex life of an iconic 19th-century American novelist and the Transcendentalists (Thoreau, Hawthorne, Melville) after whom she lusted, to John Oakes at OR Books, by Dan Conaway at Writers House (NA).

Information shared from this wonderful blog, "It's All in the Details."

What on earth did E.L.James do to publishing? It's like everyone has gone BER...

GOP Chairman Willie Billings' Wife Has Fanatical Melt Down with Fred Karger

Fred Karger, a gay man running for president I've posted about many times this year, met with Utah Washington County GOP Chairman Willie Billings. Allegedly it was a good meeting without any problems. Then a few hours later Fred Karger allegedly received this letter from Chairman Billings' wife, Nanette Billings. This brings new meaning to the old phrase "No-no, Nanette."

From: nanette Billings (email address removed) Subject: running for president

Message Body:

you are an idiot. You met with...
