Ryan Gosling Takes Break From Acting; Paul Ryan's Intern Cyberstalking; Fangsters FREE Giveaway

It seems actor Ryan Gosling is taking a break from acting. After he announced this, the Interwebs went wild at the prospect of no more Ryan Gosling and some sort of web site/help line was set up that started playing "The Notebook" 24 hours.

I've always been a fan of his, but I don't think I'll need the helpline. The article I'm linking to below gets into Gosling's decision to take a break, and gives example of other actors who've done this in the past, too. If you follow pop culture...

Amazon's New "TV Set-Top Box" for Streaming Videos

This information is so new no one's even sure about it yet, and Amazon hasn't verified it, but according to a Bloomberg report Amazon plans to introduce a TV set-top box. This means Amazon will be in our living rooms, too. But more than that, they are allegedly introducing a new smart phone that will compliment their line of Kindle devices as well. You can fault Amazon for many things, but never for falling asleep at the proverbial wheel.

The device will be introduced this fall, acc...

Justin Bieber's Little Monkey; New Release; Gay Fiction: "Pledges"

I know this might sound trivial with all the news happening these days, but these monkey stories have been popping up all week and I figured why not post about Justin Bieber's little monkey.

From what I've been able to gather in simple searches, Justin Bieber has a cute little monkey he calls Mally...but it's created somewhat of a controversy. When he entered Germany about a month ago and they found out about his little monkey they took one look at it, shook their heads, and quarantined i...

"Vanilla Ice Goes Amish;" Brian Stelter on Morning News; Authors Should Post with Care

When I say Vanilla Ice goes Amish, I'm speaking about his TV series with HGTV Network that deals with flipping houses, "The Vanilla Ice Project." And this year they sent Vanilla Ice to Amish country to learn about Amish skills.

A new spin on the rapper's three-seasons-old house flipping series The Vanilla Ice Project, the new show sends the '90s pop culture icon to Amish Country to learn crafting from the famous woodworkers. It will premiere later in 2013.

The article also goes on to menti...

Thoughts for Jeanne Cooper; "Not Young, Still Restless"

I'm not sure how many of my blog readers will know who Jeanne Cooper is (I'm betting a lot know), but she was always a huge influence in my life from afar. She was recently hospitalized in LA, listed in critical condition, and I just wanted to post a few thoughts about her and express hope for a fast recovery...and gratitude for all the things she's given to her fans over the years.

CBS Los Angeles (CBSLA) first reported Cooper was hospitalized on Saturday, April 13 in Los Angeles. The 8...

Alex Beecroft Talks About M/M Books; Monkey Jockeys; Gender Neutral Rest Rooms

Although the article to which I'm linking where M/M historical romance author Alex Beecroft talks about M/M Books is a few weeks old, I think it's the kind of post that can stand up to time and remain relevant without a time restriction. It's an issue we all deal with a one point or another.

For my LGBT blog readers who don't know what "M/M" (Male/Male) is...and I know there are a lot of you because I get e-mails all the time about it from gay men...the best way to describ...

Gay Movie "Violence of the Mind;" Jon Fleming; Philadelphia Q Fest

For those who haven't heard about Jon Fleming and "Violence of the Mind," here's a post I wrote in January of 2012. VotM is a new indie film and there will be screenings of it at various LGBT related events in the coming months, one of which will be at the Philadelphia Q Feast on July 11-22.

Here's a description of VotM I found:

When Sebastian Youngstrum (Ryan Kibby) meets the older, handsome Max Taymer, (Jon Fleming) a forbidden world awakens in the mind of the young man. The line between fant...

Ryan Field Books Published Since January 2013

I hope most people know that when I title my blog posts like "Ryan Field Books Published Since January 2013" I do this with search engines in mind.I'm not famous enough to just title a blog post with "My Books Published Since January." And my ego isn't large enough. I have to actually use my own name or search engines aren't going to pick that up. That's Blogging 101 for those who don't know. You learn these little secrets as a blogger the more you do it. In a way it's like the...

Who Bradley Cooper Lives With; New Adult by Jill Hughes; Free Excerpt "A Cowboy in Love"

Who Bradley Cooper lives with might come as a surprise to some, but I found it kind of nice when I read that he lives with his mom. I have read that he's from my area...Jenkintown, PA, which is about a half hour drive from New Hope...but I'm not exactly sure about those details.

“It’s not like I live in a compound and she’s in the guesthouse. No. She’s in the next room,” he tells Details magazine in its latest issue. ”But here’s the thing. She’s a cool chick. We can hang and she can roll...
