Billy Eichner and Why "Bros" Wasn't a Box Office Smash, Ryan Field Books
Billy Eichner and Why "Bros" Wasn't a Box Office Smash
We still haven't seen Billy Eichner's new movie, Bros, yet and that's mostly because we don't go to movie theaters that much anymore. Especially with COVID still going around. I know a lot of you have moved on from COVID and you're pretending it doesn't exist, but I'm not one of you. I still take precautions, and people are still getting COVID.
With that said, I think I would have made an exception this time...if I had known. I'm now linking...

With Recent Anti-Gay Laws Old Gay Activists Think History is Repeating Itself, Ryan Field Books
With Recent Anti-Gay Laws Old Gay Activists Think History is Repeating Itself
As far back as I can recall, LGBTQIA people have had to deal with inequality. But we are now living in some of the best times for gay people. I can't talk about everyone under the LGBTQIA umbrella right now. But I can talk about gay men right now. We have legalized marriage, which is HUGE. We get all the benefits straights get from marriage. And public opinion continues to change, in our favor, every time someone does ...

A Man Who Wanted to Harm and Dismember a Gay Teen From Grindr, Ryan Field Books
A Man Who Wanted to Harm and Dismember a Gay Teen From Grindr
First, I can't help but wonder why a gay teen would even be on Grindr. There should be limits. But there you are. He was there and he almost lost his life.
Evidently, some guy in Louisiana named Chance Seneca tried to kidnap and murder and gay teen that he'd hooked up with through Grindr. But more than that, he contemplated dismembering him.
Of course, there was a plea agreement and the guy wound up pleading guilty to one count of kid...

Jeffery Dahmer Reporter Claims the Netflix Series, "Dahmer," Missed Many Facts of the Case, Ryan Field Books
Jeffery Dahmer Reporter Claims the Netflix Series, Dahmer, Missed Many Facts of the Case
Tony and I are watching the Dahmer series on Netflix right now and we know that the entire story has been fictionalized and dramatized for the sake of entertainment. They took a great deal of "artistic license." And I think in most cases with a story like that you can expect a certain amount of fiction. I remember following this case back in the 90s and even I saw a few flaws. But I don't mind that. The one ...

A Review For All-Gay Movie by Billy Eichner Called "Bros," Ryan Field Books
A Review For All-Gay Movie by Billy Eichner Called "Bros"
I'm linking to a nice review for Billy Eichner's all-gay movie, Bros. I keep making a point that it's all gay because we rarely ever see that anymore. We see straight women writing gay romances and getting away with all kinds of cultural appropriation. And if you challenge them, they will call you a misogynist. It's really quite a phenomenon. It's okay for them to appropriate gay male culture, but you can't call them out on it.
And becau...

A New Book About Chicago Gay Bars and Chicago Gay History, Ryan Field Books
A New Book About Chicago Gay Bars and Chicago Gay History
From what I gather, there is a new book out about Chicago gay bars by two authors, Rick Karlin and St. Sukie de la Croix. It is titled, Last Call Chicago: a History of 1001 LGBTQ-friendly Taverns, Haunts, and Hangouts. From the description on the Amazon page, they seem to be covering everything from the 1920s to the present.
According to this article, the book is filled with all kinds of gay-related photos and old-school ads. If you're fro...

Memoir About a Gay Kid in Rural America Who Survived, Ryan Field Books
Memoir About a Gay Kid in Rural America Who Survived
After growing up in a small town in Southern New Jersey, I can relate to what it's like growing up gay in a small town. You can't express yourself, you're constantly questioning yourself, and you're often in denial about who you really are. And you are terrified to face it. It. Is. Hell. And I would never go back to live there again.
With that said, A gay author named Taylor Brorby has a new memoir out titled, Oil: Growing Up Gay in a Fracture...

Cuba Finally Approves Gay Marriage, Ryan Field Books
Cuba Finally Approves Gay Marriage
It's nice to finally see that Cuba has approved legalized same-sex marriage, which is part of a new family code that is being called the most progressive in Latin America. In the past, there has allegedly been a long tradition of toxic masculinity. And now all that is about to change.
Best of all, two-thirds of the voters helped pass the law. The new legislation will also allow gay couples to adopt, and the rights of women should improve.
I think this is a sign...

Trump Wants to Keep Our Country Gay, But Not Really, Ryan Field Books
Trump Wants to Keep Our Country Gay, But Not Really
I think Donald Trump is the most controversial figure I have ever seen in my lifetime. People either love him or despise him. He's broken up families, friends, and sometimes even marriages. And he continues to plow forward with such a strong MAGA following that I wouldn't go near any of it with a ten-foot pole. MAGA people hate gay people. And I've experienced that kind of hate on Twitter firsthand.
With that said, Trump recently stated at one ...
