Brendan Fraser Plays Gayface in "The Whale" and Wears a Fatsuit, Ryan Field Books

Brendan Fraser Plays Gayface in "The Whale" and Wears a Fatsuit

I can still remember the first time I saw Brendan Fraser in a real film. It was Gods and Monsters and he played the hot young homophobic employee of an old gay Hollywood director of horror films. I still love the movie but I didn't love Brendan Fraser's character, not even with the ending where Fraser's character tried to embrace the old director being gay.

Well, it looks as though good old straight Brendan has come a long way since...

Old Madonna Does this Odd "I'm Gay" Thing on the Internet, Ryan Field Books

Old Madonna Does this Odd "I'm Gay" Thing on the Internet

When 64 year old Madonna first started out I liked her, and then she started to appropriate gay men and gay culture and I got sick or her and her opinions fast. And that's not all she's been accused of appropriating. If you do a quick search you'll find many more articles.

In any event, this week Madonna posted a weird video to social media. I saw it on Twitter, but I believe she posted it to TikTok first. In short, it's a video where Mad...

Spanish Soccer Star's Joke About Being Gay Is NOT Funny, Ryan Field Books

Spanish Soccer Star's Joke About Being Gay Is NOT Funny

Yesterday I posted about a soccer star in Spain who allegedly posted that he was gay. He claims he was hacked, and then deleted the Tweet. But frankly, it's still not funny. And it's hard to believe that these gay jokes are still going around today. I remember them well growing up as a closeted gay kid. While the straight people would laugh I would cringe.

The piece to which I'm linking right now was done by a woman, and I think she nails i...

Iker Casillas Claims Twitter Account was Hacked after His "I'm Gay," Post, Ryan Field Books

Iker Casillas Claims Twitter Account was Hacked after His "I'm Gay," Post

Iker Casillas is a former goal keeper in Spain and he claims his Twitter was hacked after posting that he was gay. But no one is really certain about what happened.

Then Casillas Tweeted out that he was sorry to the LGBTQIA community. However, according to this article no explanation came with any of Casillas's Tweets. But more than that, all this happened after the media in Spain said he was in a relationship with an actr...

Palestinian Gay Man Brutally Murdered, Ryan Field Books

Palestinian Gay Man Brutally Murdered

I posted about this yesterday but I thought it was serious enough to post more.

The decapitated body of a poor young gay man named Ahmad Abu Marhia was found in Hebron just as he was about to be granted asylum. He was living in Israel temporarily and planning to start a new life, free from discriminations, in Canada.  Even though I hate to jump to conclusions, these countries have no respect for anyone LGBTQ. And this painfully gruesome story is proof.

Marhia...

Gay Palestinian Ahmad Abu Marhia Beheaded in West Bank For Allegedly Being Gay, Ryan Field Books

Gay Palestinian Ahmad Marhia Beheaded In West Bank For Allegedly Being Gay

On the global front, this is what's still happening to gay people in Muslim countries. This poor kid, Ahmad Abu Marhia, was seeking asylum and getting threats because he was gay. There's a video of the murder scene that's been going around on social media (I haven't seen it) and of course police say they can't confirm anything.

Give me a break. It's not like we haven't seen this before. Israel media claims he was kidnapped...

After "Don't Say Gay" Law A Weaker Disney Hopes to Limit Damage, Ryan Field Books

After "Don't Say Gay" Law A Weaker Disney Hopes to Limit Damage

I find it hard to believe that Disney is all that weaker after the Don't Say Gay Laws. For one thing, I know there are a lot of gay people in Disney, but its mostly a heteronormative venue. And look at what happened to Billy Eicher's new movie, Bros, this past weekend. It tanked at the box office because the straights didn't show up. Many call themselves gay allies, but when it comes to things like Disney I'm not sure they are willi...

Gay Man Gets 4.5 Million After Allegedly Being Attacked by Christian Patrol, Ryan Field Books

Gay Man Gets 4.5 Million After Allegedly Being Attacked by Christian Patrol

This all happened in Brooklyn, NY, which is really the last place you expect to see gay people attacked. But there there you are. It happens everywhere.

This happened 10 years ago to a then 22-year old on his way to a birthday party. It took ten years of litigation for him to see any satisfaction.

It was a religious group called the Williamsburg Safety Patrol, which consisted of a volunteer group of Orthodox Jews. They s...

Being Gay in North Texas: From Beatings to Shaming, Ryan Field Books

Being Gay in North Texas: From Beatings to Shaming

This is disturbing, but not surprising. The only thing I know about Texas is that we drive through the panhandle when we're doing cross country trips. The only city we really see is Amaryllis. So I really don't know much about Texas other than what I read online.

And this story doesn't set the stage very well for Texas. It already has a "reputation" and this doesn't make it any better. During an interview this year a few LGBTQ advocates decided ...

"Bros" Admits the Annoying Truth About Gay Men, Ryan Field Books

"Bro's" Admits the Annoying Truth About Gay Men

Before I get into this article fully, yesterday Billy Eichner and "Bros" were both trending on Twitter and I was amazed at the way so many straight people come out of the woodwork to either slam Bros, or comment on a gay film as if they know all there is about gay men. These straights were even comparing Bustedback Mountain to Bros, as if they have anything at all in common. Bros is an authentic gay film written and performed by openly gay artists....
