The UK's First Gay Dating Show, Ryan Field Books

The UK's First Gay Dating Show

I'm not up on my reality TV, so I could be wrong about this, but I don't think the US has ever had a dedicated Gay dating show. But again, I could be wrong. We have Dancing with the Stars, one of the most heteronormative TV shows ever aired. And we have others. But nothing geared strictly toward gay men.

In any event there is a new Gay dating show launching in the UK. The title is "I Kissed a Boy," and it's on BBC channel 3.

Whether or not you like reality TV is no...

LGBTQ Political Candidates in Turkey, Ryan Field Books

 LGBTQ Political Candidates in Turkey

When I owned my art gallery in New Hope, PA, in the 90s, there was a guy next door who owned a Turkish novelty/gift shop. He was very attractive and I liked a lot of his merchandise. I gained a new affection for Turkish coffee. Unfortunately, the general public was not interested in Turkish merchandise and he had a rough time selling anything out of that store.

But he was nice to talk to and he was always curious about gay men. In fact, I think he might have ...

More On Expansion of Florida Don't Say Gay Law, Ryan Field Books

More On Expansion of Florida Don't Say Gay Law

As everyone knows, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida expanded the don't say gay laws. And this article to which I'm linking claims it will harm students and teachers all over the country. And in various ways. I would imagine more than a few parents who disagree with the law will be harmed, too. Not every parent wants to raise their children like ultra conservative Christians.

For one thing, most LGBTQ students won't feel safe in school anymore. For anoth...

FDA Updates Blood Donation Policy for Gay and Bi Men, Ryan Field Books

FDA Updates Blood Donation Policy for Gay and Bi Men

The FDA has had an antiquated ban on gay and bi men donating blood ever since the early days of the AIDS crisis. That's years of banning us. Even though we have reached a point where testing for HIV is much easier, and things like PrEP make catching HIV very difficult, not to mention changing lifestyles, they continued to ban us until recently.

Well, I have no intention of ever donating blood. That ban should have been lifted years ago and I am...

Good Old Louisiana Now Has Don't Say Gay Bill, Ryan Field Books

Good Old Louisiana Now Has Don't Say Gay Bill

This makes me feel awful for anyone who is gay in Louisiana. And frankly, it's not going to go down well in the history books for Louisiana. But then again, nothing has ever gone down well in the history books with Louisiana.

And that's because they just passed another senseless don't say gay bill that sets us back another 20 years. I also have to admit that I get a little bothered by the fact that they lump gay men in with Transgender people and that...

West Virginia Basketball Coach's Homophobic Slur, Ryan Field Books

West Virginia Basketball Coach's Homophobic Slur

This is just one reason why Tony and I do not live in a state like West Virginia. We made this choice consciously, and for very good reasons. We don't want to deal with people like this. I know it can happen anywhere, but it's more likely to happen in places like West Virginia. At least that's been my life experience.

West Virginia University's Basketball Coach apparently made a homophobic slur and now he's apologizing for it...as they always do. ...

Yeshiva University Sadly Mourns Gay Alumnus Who Took His Own Life, Ryan Field Books

Yeshiva University Sadly Mourns Gay Alumnus Who Took His Own Life

After all this time, it is sadly still happening to gay men. They take their own lives thanks to the daily conflicts they face being gay. This where I become livid when straight people tell how much everything has changed. As if magically, all of a sudden, we are all now safe to be queer gay or whatever.

Little do they know.

A beautiful smart young gay man named Hershel Siegel told people he was having issues coming to terms with ...

Chicago Gay Bars, Anheuser-Busch, and Dylan Mulvaney, Ryan Field Books

Chicago Gay Bars, Anheuser-Busch, and Dylan Mulvaney

I haven't been following this story closely, but I've seen glimpses on Twitter.

Dylan Mulvaney is a transgender social media star and Anheuser Busch has been distancing themselves from Mulvaney. So several Chicago gay bars are boycotting the beer company.

“For 41 years Sidetrack has encouraged liquor and beer companies that have wished to garner the LGBTQ+ customer base to actively support our community,” the bar’s statement said.

Here's more. T...

TikTok Tracking Users Who Watch Gay Content, Ryan Field Books

TikTok Tracking Users Who Watch Gay Content

I love TikTok. I've been a member since it started. Admittedly, I'm more of a lurker than I am a contributor. But it takes so much time to get it right, I'd rather just watch. I don't have the time to work on videos and that kind of content. And anything else, I think, would be boring.

With that said, the majority of my TikTok feed are cooks and music videos. If they are gay, then it's was an accident. In other words, I don't go there looking for gay c...

Gay Fans Consider Disney a Safe Place Under the DeSantis Rule, Ryan Field Books

Gay Fans Consider Disney a Safe Place Under the DeSantis Rule

The vicious DeSantis reign over Florida has been swift and without mercy for anyone who is LGBTQIA in Florida. From the don't say gay bills to the homophobic people surrounding DeSantis who allegedly think you can become gay by drinking tap water. I wouldn't step foot in Florida right now for any amount of money. And I know many other gay people who feel the same way.

However, even though many gay Disney fans have backed out of events...
