Gay Pride Canceled After Anti-Drag Law is Enforced, Ryan Field Books

Gay Pride Canceled After Anti-Drag Show Law is Enforced

This story is right out of the playbook of Anita Bryant. I'm convinced that this entire thing with the straights going after drag is completely contrived. They had to find something to get us. They clearly can't go after the President of the AMA who is an openly gay doctor. They clearly can't go after openly gay attorneys or politicians, of which there are so many. So they find the weakest of us all and they go after them.

And I say this be...

Barry Humphries Who Played Dame Edna Dies, Ryan Field Books

Barry Humphries Who Played Dame Edna Dies

I can't remember living in a time without Barry Humphries. His character, Dame Edna, has been entertaining us for years.

And now he's gone. He passed in a Sydney hospital after hip surgery. When he spoke about his injury recently it was honest and real.

"It was the most ridiculous thing, like all domestic incidents are. I was reaching for a book, my foot got caught on a rug or something, and down I went," Humphries said of his fall.

Here's more. He was a ...

As a Gay Man I Will Not Celebrate Muslim Holidays, Ryan Field Books

As a Gay Man I Will Not Celebrate Muslim Holidays

Last week it was a Muslim holiday called Eid Mubarak. That means blessed holiday or blessed festival. And I saw a gay man...one who has a fairly high profile...celebrating it and wishing Muslims a happy Eid Mubarak. I was stunned to see any gay man do this.

And that was enough for me. I told him that there was no way I could celebrate Muslim holidays knowing how Muslims feel about gay men. And then I told him he should feel the same way, too.

Now...

Florida Approves Expansion of Don't Say Gay Bill, Ryan Field Books

Florida Approves Expansion of Don't Say Gay Bill

There are so many things about this I don't like. But I think the thing that gets to me the most is the way straights are so casual about it. They say we should read the entire bill. They say we they aren't doing anything wrong. But the fact is that we are being targeted for no reason at all. And they are using sexuality as the scapegoat. And any fool knows there is more to being gay than sex.

Florida has now passed an expansion of the don't say ga...

Japan Grants Refugee Status to Gay Woman From Awful Uganda, Ryan Field Books

Japan Grants Refugee Status to Gay Woman From Awful Uganda

Once again, we see another country in Africa proving to be hateful and homophobic. This time it's Uganda.

It seems there is a Ugandan woman who went to Japan and applied for refugee status a couple of years ago. She alleges that the police in Uganda assaulted her because she's gay. But at the time, she was refused refugee status.

Then she filed a lawsuit in March and the court ordered that she was to be considered a refugee because she w...

Gay Couple Attacked in Tel Aviv, Ryan Field Books

Gay Couple Attacked in Tel Aviv

The rise of crime against gay people is going global now. Allegedly, a gay couple was attacked in their own apartment recently.

Someone broke a shutter in one of their windows and shouted death threats.

A neighbor shouted at the couple, "Go back to Germany." According to one of the victims, this is all something new happening in Tel Aviv.

"I have lived in Tel Aviv for ten years and have never experienced an [homophobic] attack. Only in the last few months have we ...

Gay Men Attacked in Times Square In NYC, Ryan Field Books,

Gay Men Attacked in Times Square in NYC

Earlier this month a gay couple claims they were attacked in New York City's Times Square while everyone just stood there and watched it happen. Allegedly, it was both physical and mental hate/abuse and one of the men needed surgery to repair a fractured jaw.

The gay couple claims they were targeted and harassed for being gay.

“They come up to us and they’re like, ‘You need to move,’” one of the men recalled for WNEW, fighting back tears. “They’re like, ‘Y...

Gay Men Saved Us From Monkeypox, Ryan Field Books

Gay Men Saved Us From Monkeypox

All talk of Monkeypox has all but died down completely. I know I haven't heard of any cases in months. We had a few cases here in Palm Springs, but none lasted long.

Well, this article talks about the quick outbreak in Monkeypox almost a year ago. It talks about how Monkeypox was fairly rare until recently.

This time was different. In early May of 2022, mpox found its way to gay raves in Spain and Belgium, huge annual parties that draw men from all over the world....

The American Medical Association's First Gay President, Ryan Field Books

The American Medical Association's First Gay President

When my gay nephew came out to me on Facebook about ten years ago, he was studying to become a doctor. And now, all these years later, he's out to the world, happy about who is is, and he's now a full-fledged doctor.

With that said, there is now a gay president of the AMA, which is historically a highly conservative organization. I guess in spite of the fact that there are so many openly gay doctors. I've always known many openly gay doctors...

Abused Gay Men Don't See Themselves as Victims, Ryan Field Books

Abused Gay Men Don't See Themselves as Victims

Over the years, as life has evolved for gay men, I'm still seeing the same old issues that I saw 30 years ago. It's almost as if some gay men don't realize they are part of a marginalized group and they always will be. I especially see this in book publishing and in films. In book publishing there are gay men who see nothing wrong with non-gay authors writing gay content. In films, there are still gay men who think that when a straight actors takes ...
