Guess what I found…
A yellow jacket wasp in the house! It’s 20 below 0 celcius (-4F) and I have a wasp??? It was a BIG one…looked like the pic below…I hope it came in on the firewood I’ve been carrying in or maybe we have a wasp nest in the chimney and this is just the first one?? I had three of them a couple of months ago on the same basement window. Oiiiii
Worked on Sophie’s Menage this morning and will work on Inner Girl Rising for the rest of the day. Both stories are coming along smoothly. *high five*
My usual early morning walks were put on hold lately due to ice being everywhere. So we’ve taken to the Walker’s Club at the Shopping Center. It’s nice to walk around the mall and window shop when you know you can’t buy anything because the stores are all closed…except the McDonald’s and Tim Horton’s coffee. Mom needed a good stretch for her legs and so we booted around the loop two times. The next time we will try for three loops around. Of course I did put out my back again this morning – slipped on the ice yesterday and did a bad twist and then getting out of the car this morning – another bad twist…lol…not sure why it keeps going out. Buy my hot bean bag is my back support on my computer chair. A trip to the chiropractor is in order in the New Year.
Heading back to writing. Have a good one!

The Big Melt has begun!
Squeeeing! The Big Melt has begun. It is a relief to see the crystal wonderland starting to disappear. Although it was beautiful, I prefer to see snow on the trees. Today I am going to work on “Inner Girl Rising” and do a bit of research for “Sophie’s Menage”.
For SM I am leaning toward either a leather fetish night or spanking fetish night at the Key Club….either way it should be fun for our hairstylist Sophie as you can tell just by the cover!! Woot!
Hope you all have a great day!

Ohhhhh noooo! They are calling for windy conditions and more power outages overnight. But it will be mild for the next couple of days so hopefully lots of the ice will melt. Squeeee! We have everything prepared…just in case. I learned how to use the new propane stove. Very easy!! So we can have a hot meal this time around. lol
Made great progress today on “Inner Girl Rising”…and I hope to make more tomorrow, if the powers that be permit it (pardon the pun).
Here’s a pic of the clothesline in the backyard…
and a tree near the hydro line…eek!
Going to watch some tv tonight and light a candle for all who continue to suffer in the blackouts.
Hugs,

Getting back to ice normal
I’m slowly getting back to normal after the ice storms. But I still get jumpy when the power goes off for a second and comes back on again. We’ve invested in a new camp stove and lantern (to be used outdoors due to carbon monoxide possibilities)…but if the power goes off again I also invested in more candles, matches, batteries for the flashlights and radio – I’ve got a huge box of kindling plus some firewood stacked by the fireplace and yes the cell phone is fully charged. LOL
As promised here are some pics from the ice storm.
The pic above and below are scenes right around the corner from my parent’s house. Tons of branches down and some wires too. They was taken a couple of days after the storm. For some reason I didn’t take many pics. I felt as if I was violating the people who were
out of power. It was a weird feeling that I had never experienced before.
During the power outage we hunkered in the basement by the friendliest fireplace. We sent out word that we had heat and everyone was welcome, but neighbors opted to stay in their own homes. We had a pot of hot water going all day for coffee and in anticipation of the storm mom had cooked up some homemade soap which really came in handy!
I’m thinking that if extreme weather becomes the new norm – Hydro should start putting all wires underground- big $$$ to do but it might save them big $$$ in the long run on manpower if their infrastructure went underground. Above is the wire from our house…we got off lucky compared to lots of people.
The top of our very tall and gorgeous pine tree is starting to lean. We pray it doesn’t fall on the house.
This morning after a pretty and fluffy all night snowfall…more weight on the already ice-laden trees…more power failures to come?
Mom seems to be doing better the past few days. Let’s hope the bladder infection diagnosis was the right one and no more problems.
And as always a post is not complete without mention of Chee Chee…who during the power failure was stubborn and remained upstairs in the cold – but finally ventured downstairs to sit near the fire. Chee Chee was not amused when her ears got cold. lol She has been hugging blankets ever since.
That’s it for now…going to grab a salad and sandwich and nurse my aching back – too much walking on ice to get firewood, too much snow shoveling and too much chopping firewood…and of course too much ice. LOLOL.
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!
Hugs,

It was the ice storm of all storms!!
Wow, I cannot believe I survived that ice storm. The past couple of days I am living in a land that has been dipped in ice. I prefer to think of it as crystal – makes it more bearable and it sure is pretty when the sun shines.
But the ice storms have left behind utter destruction – trees down, branches everywhere, long icicles hanging off the hydro wires and crystal glaze on everything!! When I get my camera working I will upload some pics I took.
I had every right to be anxious because if anything could go wrong during that storm- it did! Just as the second ice storm took hold I had to call the taxi to bring my mom to the Emergency!! We spent 4 hours there and they discovered she had a bladder infection and not a gall bladder attack as I had suspected. Good thing I took her in.
We got home at midnight and the lights were still on…but three hours later as the rain continued to fall down and freeze it began to lightning!! Then it got really windy! And then the lights went out…and the rain stopped. It was eerily quiet and very dark everywhere.
We were lucky as I had been collecting kindling and wood over the last year for emergency and we used the fireplace to keep us warm. By late afternoon the house was starting to get cold and we were convinced we would be spending another night in the dark. We had a warm place to go but we decided to stick it out at home – and as we sat downstairs and began talking about all our loved ones who had passed away – the power came on!!!! I like to think all our loved ones had heard us and had pulled some strings for us *grin*
There is still a chance the power will go out again if the winds pick up – so I spent the day preparing more kindling for the fireplace. No writing done over the past few days as it’s just been too stressful to think. But I hope to start again in a day or two- if the power stays on.
I am especially grateful to the Hydro people for working around the clock to help get power to people. We had a couple of people die of carbon monoxide poisoning over in Newcastle. I pray everyone stays safe during these trying times.
That’s it for now. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Trapped between Ice Storms!!
Feeling a bit claustrophobic here. The second ice storm is supposed to hit tonight and once again I am on pins and needles with anticipation. To top it off I have mom suffering another belly ache…dr. says it is gallstones. We’ve cut out fried foods so I am not sure what the problem is this time. To top it off I’m seeing some damp spots along the area where the wall and floor meet in the garage. Can I say stressed? LOL So, no writing today. Can’t wait until the storm is gone and I can get back to work!
In order to distract myself, took these pics of the ice so far.

Bracing for the Ice Storm Part Deux
Whew! The first ice storm was a cinch…*wiping sweat from brow*. Now we wait for the BIG ONE scheduled in for tomorrow afternoon into Sunday morning. Oiii ice storms remind me of the one Texas recently had and the one Montreal experienced some years ago.
I do remember having an ice storm around these parts when I was in my late teens. I found it fascinating that I could slip on my skates and skate down the driveway and along the road. Too cool! Memories like that you don’t forget. So, I am wondering if I should dust off my skates and see if I can get a little road skating in this time around? I may not be as flexible…the mind is willing but the body…LOL..There’s just one problem…I don’t know my skates are. LOL.
But I do have a bucket of water, a propane stove and plenty of wood ready by the fireplace just in case the power goes out. Wish me luck and see you on the other side of the storm. Woot!

Ice Storms?
Oiiii there’s one thing that freaks me out and that is an ice storm. With my luck we have two of them on the way. One will be tomorrow and then another coming in on Saturday evening. Can I say I am a bit spooked?
But on a good note, I am at 9,000 words for “Inner Girl Rising”. I am seriously enjoying this story which takes place in the autumn in Northern Ontario Canada. Loons, owls, and beavers so far. Oh and a canoe ride and a stranded heroine on an island. With two heroes on the way to rescue her…
Oh and here is a nice video with some hunky Santas…a FB friend sent it my way, lol Enjoy!

It’s a case of mistaken identity when identical twin brothers Jode and Josh Midnight, owners of Sexy Toys, show up for an erotic several day photo shoot of their toys with famous nude model Cammie Creek. Cammie believes the two well-hung hunks are the male models she’s supposed to work with. Usually she doesn’t mix business with pleasure, but when they’re seducing her in front of the camera and creating fantastic orgasms, she can’t resist turning them into her personal sex toys.
Josh and Jode are enjoying the perks of being male models; hot lust, sizzling toys and the best sex they’ve ever had. But how will Cammie react when she discovers they’re actually her bosses and they fell in love with her even before they met her?
Happy Reading!
