surf's up, greenwillow authors!
i'm sick as a dog and on antibiotic horse pills to boot!
(i'm a Big Whiny Baby when i'm sick. =)
but things that make me feel better :
1. working on Secret Project of World Domination.
2. reading gail carriger's Blameless.
3. seeing the fotos of megan teaching me how to
"surf" for the first time over at the greenwillow blog.
i miss my author friend!

i'm afloat
hello gentle readers!
i've been waiting on my copyedits and
it feels exactly like being forced away from
a lover. i compared just beginning a novel
like getting to know a new crush. but now
that i've revised Fury of the Phoenix a good
3.5 times with my editor, i'm much more familiar–
at the point where i can choose a certain word
choice i used to search the doc and jump to the
part of the story i want to be at.
this familiarity is comforting, and one needs to
work up to it as with any love...

a concert at noon
i was able to go to a free concert and panel
on chinese music, then and now, at lunchtime
today. i wasn't quite sure what to expect, but enjoyed
myself so much! i never did learn a musical instrument
and know nothing about music in general, but i'm
always humming and singing (not well, either =) just
like my mom does and just like sweet pea seems to.
the venue was packed and i had great seats in the third
row. however, not the best spot to take fotos, so sorry
for all the giant heads in the...

i drove up to los angeles to see my writing

i came home, i was exhausted, my voice was hoarse,
but it was all worth it. i could divide this post in two,
but i won't, so you can experience in full effect, the
awesomeness of my day. =)
it started with a lunch date with gretchen and

ai ling and chen yong by shuangwen
i commissioned a portrait of ai ling and
chen yong a while back from a digital artist,
shuangwen. she happens to be from guangxi,
the province that my mom is from! i couldn't
be happier with it and hope to make postcards
from them to pass out as swag in the future!
thanks especially to courtney (ANGELFIRE,
