Hold on Tight sneak peek up!

(Because who doesn't love a list?)

1.  Check out the brand new sneak peek for HOLD ON TIGHT (aka Chris's book) which releases on January 26, 2010.

2.  I am now following Chip Coffey on Twitter.  Awesome!

3.  Sons of Anarchy 90 minute episode tonight.  (I also follow Kurt Sutter on Twitter)

4.  HARD TO HOLD releases in 13 days!

5. I have a case of Diet Dr. Pepper.  (it's the little things)

6.  For Nano-ish – I need 3K today.  I need 5K but would take 3K.  It's been days of, working / writing all...

Slapping the spirits

Please tell me someone saw the Paranormal State episode that took place at the insane asylum?  OMG – how AWESOME was that?  Usually, it's just Ryan and Chip Coffey running around and then nothing really happens, although it's way better than Ghost Hunters because hi, all the ghost stuff ends up being a plumbing issue. Convenient since the men who run the group happen to be plumbers and can fix the problems.

I don't want to know ghosts are nothing more than washing machine problems and carbon m...

The thing about word count…

One of the most basic things I didn't realize when I started writing was how to deal with / convert the word count of my manuscript.  In the past week, I've gotten a few questions about it (I'm assuming because NaNo is full force) so I figured I'd answer it here.

I understand it can differ for ePubs, because they use actual computer count, so you can check Word or whatever program you use and get your actual word count there.  Easy enough.  So if the publisher says they want manuscripts of...

New review for HARD TO HOLD

The wonderful Lea from Closetwriter has written a great review for HARD TO HOLD!

Here are a few snippets from her review:

What I loved about this story is not only the characters, which are well developed, and complex, but also the progression of the relationship between Izzie and Jake. Their emotional connection grows over the course of the story and is believable.

The climax to Isabelle and Jake's story is heart in the mouth riveting. Ms. Tyler infused a number of plot twists and turns, and...

NanoWriMo-ish

With NanoWriMo upon us, I always feel the need to explain my process, because it's pretty different  (read: insane) than most of what I'd read about when I first started writing – you know, the, this is how you should do it, posts.nano_09_blk_participant_100x100_1.png

I've always been contrary.  And maybe my insanity will help comfort a few of you who don't do things in order when you're writing.

Anyway, I'm sort of unofficially doing Nano.  I say unofficially because this is a contracted project that I started back in August...

Random letters

Dear November -

It is November, as you should know.  Hence, that means nice, chilly fall weather.  I do not like needing the air conditioning this time of year, as I live no where near Florida.  Also, I'm tired of finding ticks crawling around the bed via Gus's unsuspecting body.  Please bring the frost on now.

Thank you.

Dear People who appear to be freaked out when they see Gus as if he's the most giant dog ever – CIMG0015

He is large, yes.  But he is certainly smaller than Great Danes and even...

With apologies to skippy

I guess at one point I used the expression, damn straight, skippy, around my mother.  A conversation ensued in which my mother asked who this skippy was.

I tried to explain that it was just an expression (trust me, this took a while) and then she said, I'm going to start using it.

Except she couldn't remember it.  At least not correctly.  So she's been walking around, saying, suck it, smitty.

*shrugs* Maybe she'll start a new trend.

Quick 3

1. I wanted to order this cool pumpkin cake for Halloween, except Zoo told me I was insane (his point?) and besides, no one was [image error]coming here for Halloween.  Except now, we're having lots of friends here for dinner and Williams Sonoma is out of the cake.  Or it was yesterday.  Which was the last day to order to get it in time for Halloween.  Today, back in stock.  Someone somewhere does not want me to have this cake.

2. I was interviewed for Romantic Times Magazine's Clubhouse Feature in their D...
