A must-read post

I have so much work to do, the only thing that can justify me taking time out to blog is this fantastic post by Teresa Medeiros, titled, Teresa says it loud and says it proud:  I WRITE ROMANCE NOVELS!!!!

Here's a small tidbit from her post:

People often ask me why I write romance.  I write romance because the ever expanding boundaries of the genre allow me to express my own heartfelt beliefs in optimism, faith, honor, chivalry and the timeless power of love to provoke a happy ending.  In a society

Quotes I'm enjoying

"I firmly believe that a man capable of committing to something outside himself can also commit to a mate and, as a woman, I find that really appealing. Because he possesses a warrior's supply of testosterone, the military hero can be charmingly clueless when it comes to the female mind. He doesn't always "get" women, but when he falls, he falls hard. And, being goal-oriented, once he's got THE woman in his sights, he's not about to let her get away. This is a particularly handy trait in my

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you're probably familiar with Jake, the SEAL whose been visiting me for as long as I can remember - he and his brothers were regular visitors on mine and other blogs, until I seriously started writing their stories and then, well, I kept them too busy to play.

Anyway, this special sneak peek from Hard to Hold, which releases November 24th, 2009, focuses on the three brothers the trilogy centers on - Jake, Nick and Chris, and also introduces their father

Quotes I've found along the way

I start a new Claire Fontaine notebook (my absolute favorite kind, since they handle my favorite pen without bleeding through so I can write on both sides of the paper) about every 2 months.  I always use the first page to write down the goals (short term, people, because I do prefer the whole, dreams not goals, thing.  And then I write down a quote.  Throughout the notebook, when I look back, I'll always find other quotes I've found along the way.  Some I've heard before, some not, but no matte

The great cell phone decision of 2009

So I’m between the iPhone and the new Palm Pre.  Although Sprint annoyed me, because, even though I’ve been a loyal Sprint customer for 9 years, I have to wait until August 1st to get the Pre at the discount price.

When I said to Sprint Customer service, so basically, any idiot can walk into the sprint store now and get the discounted price but I have to wait until August 1st, he said, no ma’am, any idiot who isn’t a Sprint customer.

*snorts*

Anyway, Zoo and I went to buy a new mattress and a bed

Chat tonight and TV talk

Before I forget, there’s a Writeminded Chat tonight at Writerspace - 9PM EST.

Onward - am I the only one watching Daisy of Love?  Or am the only one who will admit it?  I tell myself that watching it on Sunday morning rather than Sunday night is better - and somehow, that justifies it for me.  Because it’s honestly the worst show ever.  But, you know, trainwreck = gawking.

I’m also watching Real Housewives of New Jersey, even though I wasn’t planning on it.  Not as good as NY - and I believe Atlan
