Another Giveaway and WIP update

Click on the link to enter!And in completely unrelated to Inamorata news--for a change--I've just finished the first draft (okay, really it's the third draft, but it's so different from the first two it was really starting over) of the new manuscript--Hallelujah! I was beginning to think this day would never arrive. But it has, and it's going to my critique partner today, so I'm basking in relief and the faint glimmer of possible brilliance for a few days until she brings me roughly down to earth again.And of course, I'm drinking in celebration--every single day until her critique comes in--because one really should seize every good moment.

Today, Books a la Mode is featuring an interview with me on the Top Ten Books that Influenced Me as a Writer (how's that for an unwieldy title? Blame me!). She's also giving away a copy of Inamorata, so head on over there to enter.

Also, the Historical Novel Society has recommended Inamorata and given it a great review: "this mysterious, dangerous, haunting novel will keep readers spellbound."

And in other news, I am feverishly working away on the newest manuscript, which has really spent the last year taking its own sweet time. Attempting an end of August finish for the first draft (technically the third, but it's changed so much it might as well be the first), so wish me luck!

This morning, the Seattle Times wrote a very nice review of Inamorata, calling it "just right for a great summer read," and "Chance’s Venice is glittering, mysterious, sophisticated — full of artists and musicians and dangerous amoral undercurrents."

Reviews and a Special Bone River Deal

Inamorata has been getting some lovely reviews from the blog-o-sphere. Historical Novels Review says "this mysterious, dangerous, haunting novel will keep readers spellbound."

From My Shelf Confessions: "If you're a historical fiction lover, a lover of mystery and just good o' fashioned novel that grabs you and doesn't let go, with beautiful prose and imagery, don't let Inamorata escape you."  She's also doing a giveaway of the novel on her site, so if you'd like to enter, the link is here.
