Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: December 2023
Hello everyone,
With the break coming up in December, I plan to read so much more! This list should be a lot bigger than the list for November. I have about six big piles of books that I am trying to read BEFORE I buy more books. I have even done the impossible and won't allow myself to walk into a bookstore! However, that might be short lived. Even being surrounded by books is the best thing to me. I love the smell, the atmosphere, and the possibility for finding a new obsession.

Cover Reveal
Hello everyone,
This is my favorite reveal (besides the book releasing!). I have already showed so many family and friends because I loved it so much.
Getting the cover how I wanted was a process. Unfortunately, the person who created the cover for Missing was no longer available. I had to resort to trying to find a new cover artist. At first, I found someone who could not give me what I needed. After payment and several rounds of me crying because it didn't look like the sequel to Missing, I found someone who was willing to listen to my needs.
MadliArt! She listened to everything I said and was able to sketch and add details where I needed it. A couple of revisions and she had my cover ahead of schedule by an entire month! The great thing about Madli? She hand draws and paints her covers! I absolutely adore it and hope you guys love the cover as much as I do.

I always call it the "blurb" on the back of the book. Some others might refer to it as a synopsis (with no spoilers), plot breakdown, or a summary. The key wrap-up is that there are little to no spoilers about them when reading the back of the book. This is what helps determine if you're going to buy the book in stores. It determines if you'll like the book or like the premise of what it is going to be about. The blurb is probably one of the more important factors of a book.
The other being the cover design. The cover will be revealed on December 8th and I have to give all of my thanks to MadliArt for the beautiful colors and design. Along with the cover design, there are a couple of other announcements I have planned to release. Hello everyone,
My reading has definitely decreased since the beginning of the school year! However, I still find an hour at the end of the day to try and read. Unfortunately, I usually end up falling asleep and can't comprehend what I'm reading! I have been stuck on the second Nightworld book for a week now!
To help increase my mojo with reading while I am teaching, I have been borrowing books from the library. My students walk to the library to obtain books so I thought that I would too. So you might see some timeline differences where I am reading two books at once - that is WHY.

Shop Independent - Doylestown
Hello everyone,
I think most book lovers order their physical paperback and hardcover paperback books through Amazon or Barnes & Noble. I know I have because of their convenience. However, as avid readers, we need to shop independent and local bookstores to help foster a community who loves to read.
The Doylestown Bookshop is an independently owned bookstore located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. They opened their doors first in 1998 and is dedicated to preserving the heritage and traditions of independent bookstore ideals.
If you click the picture above, you will be sent to the page where you can purchase Missing from them. They will be selling the paperback through their website BUT ALSO IN STORE. If demand increases, they will purchase more from me. This is the first time a store has agreed to sell my book IN STORE. I am so excited!
With that being said, I am going to travel to Doylestown in about a week or so to see if I can find my book in there. I am not guaranteeing a time or date, but you might catch me signing the book secretly!
