If you’re reading this, then you’ve come across Mystics of Fortune. Whether you’ve read the book or just thinking about it, know that I am so thankful for your time and interest. A little bit about myself. I am Texan, born and raised. I met my wife at college and I’ve spent the last twenty years in the healthcare industry. My wife and I both work, so hobbies tend to take a back seat to work and kids.
I’ve always enjoyed visiting bookstores and scavenging the science fiction shelves for a good read. As I’ve grown older, I’ve intermixed leadership books into my repertoire, but sci-fi is still number one. Watching, reading, or listening to old classics or the next big blockbuster, that was me in a nutshell until the summer of 2016. Watching, reading, or listening to old classics or the next big blockbuster, that was me in a nutshell until the summer of 2016. Mystics of Fortune was not forged out of a great epiphany, nor was the published version anywhere close to my original idea.
Following the advice from one of my favorite authors, I just started writing. From the summer of 2016 to 2017, I wrote seven or eight ideas for books, roughly sixty pages each. I’d generally stop one, then start another idea, then perhaps go back and add a few paragraphs to other stories. At some point toward the end of summer 2017, I realized that I had been going back to one story in particular. By May of 2020, that short story had reached 285,000 words and Mystics of Fortune was born.
I’ve enjoyed creating this new world, it’s characters, their views and tribulations; the journey has been one that I will never forget. I strongly considered not publishing the manuscript. Why? Creating Mystics of Fortune was very personal. Writing turned out to be one of my greatest stress relievers.
In the end, I decided to publish so others could experience this complex world I created over many years of imaginative writing (and erasing). MoF is deep, complex, and deliberately detailed. There are dozens of characters with stories and sub-stories of their own. I know many authors create characters that are based on real people in their lives. Perhaps on a sub-conscious level that is true for me, but it was not intentional.
Mystics of Fortune is the first book in a series of four. I plan on writing the entire series whether MoF sells well or not. I don’t plan on quitting my day job; I like healthcare and like helping people. My hope is that people reading this will simply enjoy the book. I Stopped Writing?!

Hello Mystics! Sorry its been a while since I’ve posted. Normal life stuff and having to rework part of the series has been taking up a lot of time.
