Your Symphonies

Your Symphonies

By: Azza El  Wakeel

I gave chances few times

To other men to approach me

Play on my heart chords

They all played boring melodies

I only listened to for a few moments

Or only for a few music notes

You played symphonies

That brought every night

New shining stars

New brightening moon

Your symphonies were

Moving my heart

They were like

Turbulent sea waves

Like violent monsoons

I invite you to watch the video poetry of the poem

Your Symphonies

I Have Claws

I Have Claws

By: Azza El Wakeel

You man who wishes

To explore my world

Be aware that my world

Is not a playground

For a curious adolescent

Who just plans to play

And if you’re hunting

Be careful, I have claws

I’m not an easy prey!

You man who speak

Of having a thousand women

At your command

An album full

Of admirers and fans

I have no time to waste

With an immature boy like you

Take my advice and go

Throw yourself into the arms

Of your thousand women

Go build yourself a Harem!

The Cold Cave

The Cold Cave

By: Azza El Wakeel

When you had to leave

It was a hard moment for me

To close your eyes

Cover your body

Hide your smile

The dimples on both sides

Of your face

The hardest part was when

I had to leave you lonely

In your grave

I returned home after your funeral

To find our warm house

Turned to a cold cave

Cold like the marble

Engraved with your name

The house mourned you

In its own way, showed its grief

Even the walls and ceilings changed

Because of your absence

Became darker out of

Sorrow and sadness

Didn’t remain the same

The truth, mother

Nothing remained the same

In your last days you spoke

You’ll die soon

Asked me to be brave

Told me I wasn’t only

Your daughter but your sister

Your intimate friend

You too were more

Like a friend to me

Than a mother

My first reader

My biggest fan

By losing you I lost my balance

The only person I had to lean on

I was able to trust

I continue to walk

In my destined road

Like a dead corpse

Among other people

Who are living

Remembering how you were

Always caring, always forgiving

We are both dead

Our differences are

You lay asleep

I still can walk

You lost your voice

I still can talk

I kept all your belongings

I need them more than the poor

They keep my company

Provide me warmth

If I give them away

I’ll be left alone

A lifeless body, a helpless soul

Behind my closed door

I invite you to watch the video poetry of the poem

The Cold Cave

Simply Me

Simply Me

By: Azza El Wakeel

The lonely woman

Is simply me

The child who is hiding

And keeps writing

About her doubts

Laughs and tears

Is the other she in me

The dreamy girl

Is also me

But most of all

I am the fearful adolescent

Who doesn’t want to grow

Doesn’t want to know

Doesn’t want to let go of you

Don’t let go of me

Don’t end my dream

Nor tell me that

Our romance isn’t true

Our story started

When I was a girl

And you were a boy

Your love is my only joy

My only toy

I invite you to watch the video poetry of the poem

Simply Me

This is an excerpt of the poem published in my poetry book

The Distance

Simply Me in its new look

I created a new video-poem for the excerpt from my poem "Simply Me" included in my poetry book The Distance which I have published before in a previous video-poem, the images and the music in the new one inspired me to recreate a video using them. I like it and hope you'll like it too.

A Love Song

Your love is tempting
Like a fresh rose
Enchanting me
I'm afraid it will wither
Then perish
Like real flowers do
Tell me then
What shall I do?
What shall I do?

This is an excerpt of my latest poem which I invite you to read in a form of video-poem on my YouTube channel, I hope you'll enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Seven Women

I am reading "Seven Women" a book by Winifred Duke, I didn't find it on goodreads & I'm unable to add it as it doesn't have an ISBN, my copy was printed in 1947 in Great Britain by Jarrolds Publishers.
I started reading it years ago but got busy & left it after few chapters, years later I continued reading it but again stopped for the reason of traveling, now I decided to read it from the beginning as I forgot some details & won't leave it till it's finished.
It's a nice & interesting book, I really enjoyed reading the first few chapters & I'm so happy to read now the entire book!
