Your Paint
Your Paint
By: Azza El Wakeel
When you make me happy
I paint you in pink
When sad in grey
When feeling laughter
With pastel colours
When crying
With my watery tears
When you make me jealous
I become angry
Burn all your paints
Then I calm down
Regret the ashes
Start a new drawing book
When you make me glad
I drink my coffee sweet
Light grains
With sugar and cardamom
When we fight
I drink it bitter
Dark grains
Dispute with sugar and cardamom
When we reconcile
I break the old cups
Buy new ones
Offer the youth of my neighbourhood
Sugar syrup
The children candies

Oh Dream Visitor
Oh Dream Visitor
By: Azza El Wakeel
Oh dream visitor
Be gentle with me
For dream meetings are
No longer enough for me
For they do not quench
My longing for you
Nor water me
Oh dream visitor
I will write again
For all I have left
Are the letters
Feelings of fear
And a desire to speak out
And sadness that
I try hard to hide
Oh dream visitor
Nothing in this world
Can be compared to your love
The years pass and its flame
Doesn’t go out, but rather
It is getting more radiant
You are the only truth in my life
And you were never an illusion
The days pass and I get sadder
Oh dream visitor
Enough of your distance

Devils In Disguise
By: Azza El Wakeel
I confess I was wrong
But I was still young
So innocent and unwise
When I believed that
My so called best friends
Were my guardian angels
Surrounding me, sheltering me
Protecting me with their wings
Didn’t listen to your advice
When you laughed at me
Warned me and told me
They were my worst enemies
You saw them following us
With their envious eyes
While my eyes were blind
You mocked at me saying
I’m either too kind
Or out of my mind
I regret I chose
To believe them
And doubted you
Took their side
And walked on you
I regret ’cause
Right after you left
Their masks fell out of joy
I understood too late
I was nothing but
Their playing toy
I saw the hatred
Inside them through
Their malicious eyes
The truth about
My guardian angels
Was revealed to me
They were nothing but
Ugly clever devils in disguise
I invite you to watch the video-poetry
