Things I Liked in August 2022

Ahhh! Only 19 more days until “Vengeful Monsters” comes out! It’s gonna feel so good to have another book out in the world. In case you missed it, I wrote about how the story was influenced by some things I had going on in my life. As I mentioned in that post, I wouldn’t want people trying to connect any plot points or characters to my own life, but I certainly use writing as a way to process things.

Right now I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row for this release. I keep debating whether o...

The Story Behind “Vengeful Monsters”

So, hopefully, you saw my post announcing the sequel to “Forgotten Monsters” last week. As I mentioned there, I really can’t wait for you to read “Vengeful Monsters“! I thought I’d write how the book came about because there was a lot of stuff going on at that time, and it really influenced how I approached the story.

~*There are some spoilers for “Forgotten Monsters” throughout the rest of this post, so beware!*~

I wrote “Forgotten Monsters” as a standalone with the possibility of con...

Announcing “Vengeful Monsters”!

I’ve been waiting to announce this for what seems like forever, but it’s finally time to tell you all about my next book! On Monday, September 19, “Vengeful Monsters” – the thrilling sequel to “Forgotten Monsters” – will release, and below you can find the cover and blurb!

Marissa Summers didn’t mean to unleash a telekinetic blast, and she definitely had no idea it would put her mind-controlling mother, Claire, into a coma. But, either way, she’s finally free of that evil woman’s abuse...

Things I Liked in July 2022

Quick writing update for you before I delve into the real reason you are checking out this blog.

Tomorrow, August 1, I’ll be revealing details of my new book to those who subscribe to my newsletter. So, if you want to keep up to date with all my writing, then feel free to sign up for my newsletter and be one of the first people to see my new cover and blurb. I will, of course, be posting all this information publicly (though a little bit later), but sometimes it’s cooler to be part of an excl...

Gearing up for the Sequel

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be posting a whole bunch of information on “Forgotten Monsters #2” including the cover, blurb, and release date (so, basically, all the important things!). I’m so looking forward to it. I feel like I’ve been teasing it forever, but things are finally in motion. I have my book cover now and I LOVE it. I can’t wait to share.

Getting ready to release this book feels different in some ways from releasing “Forgotten Monsters” but it’...

Things I Liked in June 2022

Okay, so we’re really halfway through the year, huh? It’s crazy to me. While time is flying, I’m actually really excited about the coming months. If all goes according to plan, I’ll have my book cover soon and I can finally start providing some information on my next book. I received my copyedit back, and now I’m just waiting on the cover. So once I have that, we’re good to go. I am beyond excited to get things going with this book.

In the meantime, though, here are some things I liked in Jun...

Some Pride Month Book Recommendations

Happy Pride Month, everyone! Below is just a small sampling of my favorite LGBTQ+ books, or books by LGBTQ+ authors, that I think you’ll enjoy. I would love to know what some of yours are too, so feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments!

I’m trying not to repeat books that I’ve talked about before. We already know how much I love “Boyfriend Material” by Alexis Hall, and I don’t think we need another post about it (but still, check it out!). In any case, here are some suggestions.

Things I Liked in May 2022

So, happy almost June! I hope May was a good month for you, and I hope you’ve got some vacation time lined up soon. I think this summer will be fairly busy for me at work, unfortunately, but I hope to get away for a little bit. I’m more cautious than not regarding Covid, and one of the things I’ve been eager to do for a while now is travel abroad, specifically England or Iceland. I don’t have anything planned at the moment but maybe now is a good time to get something on the books!

In the mea...

What Have I Been Up To?

I haven’t really discussed my writing in a while so I wanted to provide a little update. I have to say, it’s a weird feeling being “in-between” books right now. I’m holding off on really promoting “Forgotten Monsters” further than I already have because I think it’ll be more effective once I have another book to promote. I’m right on the cusp of being able to announce a title or reveal the cover, but I’m not quite there yet. So what do I do? Well, I keep writing and editing other projects but th...

Things I Liked in April 2022

I don’t know if the months in 2022 are getting crazier/busier for me or if I just forget how crazy/busy the previous month was. But April was nuts. Lots of changes, lots of work. I did spend the first week or so in Florida visiting my mom, though, which was nice. Just the change of scenery did wonders, and lounging on the beach wasn’t so bad either. One of my brothers, my sister-in-law, and my niece and nephew came to Florida too, so it was nice to all hang out without having to worry about our ...
