Writing Plans for 2023

Well, Happy New Year!! I know it’s mid-January at this point but, whatever, I’m saying it anyway. I hope your 2023 is starting off on the right foot. And if it’s not, then I hope things turn around very quickly for you.

This year I’ll be releasing the final book in my “Forgotten Monsters” trilogy, and that seems hard to believe. Didn’t I just release the first one? Apparently not. But it’s exciting. Because I’ve got some really big plans coming up and I want to update you on some of them.

Things I Liked In December 2022 (and for the year!)

Well, tomorrow is really the start of the new year, huh? I’m definitely ready for it. There was a lot of goodness this year but I’m also ready to put it behind me and bring on the start of something new.

Things I Liked in November 2022

So there’s really only one month left of 2022? Sounds made up. I have so many things to complete before the end of the year and it’s a little overwhelming. All that Christmas shopping and baking and decorating could be fun but I tend to squeeze it in at the last minute. I’ve got some time off from work in a few weeks, which is greatly needed, and it will allow me time to fit in all this other stuff I need to do. And I will love it because it’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Things I Liked in October 2022

Well Happy Halloween! It’s never been my favorite holiday, to be honest. It’s not that I don’t like spooky things – because I do! – but I hated dressing up and trick-or-treating as a kid. Maybe it was the introvert in me, I don’t know, but I never found it fun. But, as an adult, I do enjoy getting into the spirit by watching Halloween related movies and shows. The Query Trenches

How many of my fellow writers out there are querying now or have queried in the past? How many of you find it incredibly frustrating? Because I do.

I can handle rejection well, so it’s not really about that. It has nothing to do with the agents themselves, either. I just can’t get the motivation to give it my all. I applaud people who query upwards of 100 or more agents. Not only is it a lot of work, but that means you were rejected by 100 or so agents, and that’s a lot to handle!
