Writing Again - Whew!
I'm not used to taking breaks. Yeah, I know, that's not at all healthy. I guess, over the years, I just became accustomed to working all the time. I don't have kids who need me and my corporate job took over my life. In order to keep my head above water, I became a workaholic. Great work ethic, but again, not so healthy.
Recently, when life-stuff took over, I managed through it. I kept my head down and did what needed to be done. As things started to simmer down, I was ready to get back to writing.
Only, my head and body were essentially yelling at me to take a break...which I'm clearly not good at. But, I listened. I worried. I was in quite a funk. I wondered when I'd get back to writing my story for you, IF I'd get back to it. This is something I hadn't felt before.
I know that writing is my happy place and since it's my career, I got really concerned. Deep breath.
Thankfully, my funk has passed and I've been writing. There are a lot of holes that need to be figured out, but I'm so happy to be writing this story again!!!
Okay, so, back to writing. :-)

Do you like fall?
With fall upon us, I'm so in the mood for fall snacks and writing.
If you've been in my world for a bit, you know life has pulled me in a few too many directions a little too close together and I've haven't been able to write, let alone "hear" my characters with all the chaos.
Things are beginning to settle down and the weather is getting cooler. I'm ready for warm pumpkin bread, hot mulled apple cider, and being wrapped in a blanket as I let my mind open back up to my Angelo and Lucia telling me their story so I can write it for you.
Do you have any favorite fall snacks? I'd love to know!

Just a Little Taste
I love the concept behind Costco of being able to have just a little taste of, say, a cracker they're selling, before you buy the massive box of crackers. It's nice to have that sample before fully committing.

Life Craziness
Sometimes life stuff takes over. That's what's been happening for me recently. Too many things happening all at the same time have taken my attention away from engaging with my readers and writing my stories.
I'm not going to be hard on myself about it because priorities change as life happens. Things should be settling down soon and I'll be able to get back to writing Someone to Watch Over Me. And, though I may not be actively writing, these characters wander through my thoughts daily. I'm looking forward to getting back to writing their story.

Is Christmas Over?
Whew! The aftermath of release day sometimes feels like the day after Christmas. :-) You put in all this work leading up to the big day and then...in a flash...it's gone.
So, what's next, you ask? Book 3 in the Wounded Hearts Series!!! I'm working on Someone to Watch Over Me. Okay, okay, I'm stumbling a bit because this story can go in different directions and Angelo and Lucia are NOT being cooperative in telling me which direction. LOL!
It's okay. I know I need to settle back in after the whirlwind of releasing a book. I have almost 7,400 words of...honestly, stuff...sentences, phrases, scenes, ideas, thoughts, song names. This is how it all starts for me. I have a Pinterest board (check it out here: https://www.pinterest.com/debbiecroma...) too with lots of inspiration. It's all a tangled, disjointed mess that somehow turns into a beautiful love story. :-)
So, I listen. I listen for the characters to tell me their story and then I document it, putting together all the pieces.

What Makes You Buy a Book?
I'm curious, what makes you buy a book?
For me, it's the cover first. Though the saying goes, "You can't judge a book by its cover," the cover is the first thing that either attracts me or repels me. I feel like the cover should offer some insight into what I can expect on the pages inside the book.
Second is the blurb. Again, I feel like the blurb should set me up and help me anticipate what I'll find when I read the story. If it's too vague or confusing, I might pass because I don't have enough of an idea about what I'm in for. While I don't want a summary of the entire story, I want it to entice me.
How about you?
I'm looking forward to see your take on this.

I'm so excited for you to read Candi and Enzo's love story!!! This is, by far, my most emotional book yet. My ARC readers are sobbing and loving it which kind of makes me happy. Not that they're crying, but that my story, my words have touched them so deeply.
And NONE of them saw the twist coming!!!!
