How much self-control do you have?

As difficult as it can be, at times, to hold our tongue or give in to pressure or indulgence, we are encouraged to maintain self-control so that we can protect ourselves from behaving in such a way that will hurt or destroy us (see Galatians 5:22-23). Because, without self-control, you are "like a city whose walls are broken through" (Proverbs 25:28) and become someone you are not. So, might you consider counting to 3 or 100, take several deep breaths or turn and walk the other way, in order to keep yourself from saying or doing something that you will regret or be detrimental to your well-being. #RemainInControl & #GuardYourWordsAndActions

How perseverant are you?

It takes a great deal of strength to persevere; and very few are willing to do what it takes. Those that choose to persevere have such a strength in them that continues to push them forward, despite the many roadblocks and barriers. This strength, Him, blesses those willing to persevere under trial (see James 1:12). Might you, too, choose to be blessed by Him. #ContinueOn

What do you value?

Not everyone values the same things. For some, it may be possessions; and for others, wisdom. For those that value wisdom, after many years, hidden away and almost forgotten, the "Book of the Law in the temple" (2 Chronicles 34:15), the first five books of the Old Testament, was found. When such treasure is found, or, in this case, rediscovered, we begin to appreciate its true value. So, as you consider your values, might you, too, appreciate what you have, just like the rediscovered 5 (see 34:30-31). #RealValue

Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior

What steps are you willing to take to do what is best for you and your family? Stepping outside one’s comfort zone can be difficult, for many; but when it comes to doing what is best, the discomfort becomes irrelevant. Ruth incurred similar circumstances. She “left [her] father and mother and [her] homeland and came to live with a people [she] did not know before” (Ruth 2:11), in order to take care of her mother-in-law, Naomi. Such instances can take you outside of your comfort zone, but when they do, He will be there to help. Might you find comfort in the uncomfortable. #DoingWhatIsNecessary❤️ #ANWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments

How prepared and ready are you to serve?

One's service can never truly be appreciated, by another, except for Him. For He recognizes your commitment, efforts and dedication, in all that you do. Therefore, He encourages and reminds you to "be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning" (Luke 12:35). So, as you serve, might your "light shine before others, that they may see" (Matthew 5:16). #AlwaysReady & #Willing #ServeSelflessly & #Well

What do you do to nourish and fill your heart with happiness?

We, each, are responsible for our own happiness and joy; and as we figure out what to do to find, feed and sustain it, we are reminded to "not neglect our meeting together,...but encourage one another" (Hebrews 10:25 NLT); and when we do, we "spur one another on toward love and good deeds" (10:24). Many "hygges" to you. #AFull & #HappyHeart

How much do you really want to know?

Wanting to know everything is not as desirable as people what to believe. Knowledge has a price tag, a heavy one, that comes with a great deal of sorrow, grief and pain (see Ecclesiastes 1:18). The more you know, the heavier the price. In order to navigate through the acquired and accumulated knowledge, might you consider seeking such knowledge that helps you to survive and thrive through the darkness (see John 1:1-5). For He, Jesus, "has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption" (1 Corinthians 1:30). #WorthyKnowledge

How bright is your light?

Much darkness surrounds us; but there are certain people who continue to light up the world. These beacons "are the light of the world. A town built on a hill [that] cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14); and such lights exist and remain lit, because of those who follow Him. So, might you allow others to "see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (5:16). #Shine & #Share & #AlwaysWelcome

How well are the seeds that you have sown grown?

Sometimes, it can be overnight; sometimes, weeks or years; maybe, even, never. It is very hard to predict or know when your crops will, or, if ever, come to fruition. Nevertheless, if you continue to sow good seeds, "on good soil", eventually, others will "hear the word, accept it, and [also] produce a crop" (Mark 4:20). Might you continue to keep sowing, despite the unknown, wherever and whenever you can. #PlantAway

Whom do you or can you "love and lean on"?

Such moments, in your life, can leave you stopped in your tracks, alone and sad; and in times like these, you could probably use someone to "love and lean on", just as Ruth did and "clung to her" (Ruth 1:14). When you "love and lean on" Him, he will give you all the love and support that you need, just as he did for Ruth and Naomi (see 2:11-12). Might you just ask. #BeLoved #Supported & #Strengthened
