Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior

Who influences your growth and development?

From birth, you begin to grow, develop and mold in to someone, and do so by those who are a part of your life. And, if you are lucky enough, Jesus is one of those influences. If so, "on that day" He enters your life, "you will realize that [He] is in [his] Father, and you are in [him], and [He] in you" (John 14:20). Having such an influence will help you continue to grow from the inside out. #SurroundYourselfWithGoodAndLikeMindedPeople

How patient are you?

Being patient can be very difficult, but necessary; and such was the case for Israelites living in exile. After seventy years, God “[fulfilled his] good promise” (Jeremiah 29:10), by bringing back the Israelites, from Babylon, to Jerusalem. So, whether it be a day or seventy years, He “will come to you” (29:10) and “fulfill [his] good promise” (29:10), just as he did for the Israelites. #NeverForgotten

How is your character revealed?

Character speaks volumes through your words, as well as, and, if not more so, by your actions. Revealing such a person's, God's, character was Moses. Moses said "the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them" (Deuteronomy 10:15), for he "defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you" (10:18). So, as you reflect on your character, might you consider using Him as an example to build yours, one that you will be proud of, as well as noticed and remembered. #CharacterBuilding & #Becoming

How loved are you?

At some point, you will fail and sin, and be okay, because "while [you] were still [a sinner], Christ died for [you]" (Romans 5:8). Such a sacrifice shows you how much He loves (see John 3:16) and cares for you. For no one knows and sees you better than He does; and when you mess up, He will be there to discipline and correct you (see Romans 8:1 & Hebrews 12:6), but do so in a loving and caring way. You are and will be forever loved by Him. #NeverRejected & #AlwaysLoved

How much time do you have remaining?

"[Your] days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if [your] strength endures" (Psalm 90:10); but "whoever believes in the Son has eternal life" (John 3:36). So, now knowing, might you allow Him to "satisfy [you] in the morning with [his] unfailing love, that [you] may sing for joy and be glad all [your] days" (Psalm 90:14). #LifeEternal

When asked to do something, how will you respond?

Taking on a new role or responsibility can be life changing; and for Abram, it was. God asked Abram to "go...to the land" (Genesis 12:1, 4) and leave everything he knew to serve Him; and "by faith Abraham...obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going" (Hebrews 11:8). When someone is willing to "show you" (12:1, 4) the way, may you have the faith and trust, just as Abram did, to accept the role or responsibility and do it to the best of your abilities. #SayYes

How grateful are you?

Certain situations have a tendency to leave us ungrateful, instead of being grateful. Might you, instead, "in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6); for His unfailing love and goodness towards you gives you every reason to be grateful (see Psalm 107:8, 15, 21, 31). Therefore, it is my hope that you find gratitude, in all situations, for you will never be more joyful or at peace. #AlwaysGrateful & #Thankful

What can transform you?

Just like everything He does, He does so with a purpose (see Isaiah 55:11); and one of those purposes is having created meaningful and purposeful words. For His Word, still very much "alive and active" (Hebrews 4:12), is "sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit...; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (4:12). So, if you really want to find out how powerful and transforming His words can be, might you start reading and see for yourself. #WordsOfPower & #Purpose

How much self-control do you possess?

When you make a conscious decision to pause, not act on impulse or refrain, you exercise self-control; and possessing such a virtue (see 2 Peter 1:5-6), allows you the opportunity to "add to your faith" (1:5-6), and the ability to develop other virtues because of doing so. Might you demonstrate such poise, in all that you do; for "His divine power has given [you] everything [you] need for a godly life" (1:3). #RemainComposed

Why worry?

To worry is to worry unnecessarily; because He tells you to "not worry about your life" (Matthew 6:25); and if you "look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them" (6:26). As you consider such thoughts, might you let go of your worries and give them to Him for He will always provide. #NoWorries
