Yeah, I’m in crash mode.
Looking again at GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND.
Might as well: I haven’t gotten the first chapters back for TINSEL RAIN, so I can’t work on that. And I shouldn’t move forward on the other projects until the money clears on the Kickstarter, which usually will be about two weeks. GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND currently clocks in at just below sixty thousand words, so I need to add about another twenty thousand or so before I go find an alpha reader for it.
Yeah, a new alpha reader for this book. It’s science fiction horror, you see – and it would drive my wife up the wall to see how bad the science is. She won’t alpha read my space opera serial novel, either, assuming it ever finishes.
Anyway, I suspect that the first three chapters of GoaAW will be this month’s Patreon story. The current short story’s crapped out, too. Dunno why. I should give it a month or two to cool down.
This deleted THE BATMAN Joker scene is good, but…
…yeah, it doesn’t really flow with the rest of the movie. Besides, given how people were already complaining just how long THE BATMAN was, it seems reasonable to cut at least this. Still, I’m not gonna begrudge an actor his chance to put on the clown makeup and give it his best hyena laugh. I’m not cruel that way.
CONAN: BLOOD OF THE SERPENT on pre-order tomorrow.
CONAN: BLOOD OF THE SERPENT was written by SM Stirling, so naturally I’ll be pre-ordering it on March 25th. It seems like a reasonable response, given that I buy Stirling* in hardback and have a fondness for Conan novels**. Details on the book itself are light, but I assume there’ll be Conan, at least one serpent, and blood. That seems like… a reasonable foundation to build upon, yes?
CONAN: BLOOD OF THE SERPENT will be published in October.

‘Sinnerman.’
How many successful crowdfunding projects constitutes “Knows something about it?”
Obviously, my latest one ends tomorrow, and I’ve been thinking about the implications of this one. Obviously I’m not an expert at crowdfunding: if I was an expert, I’d have done better than 86 microsandersons* this go-round. But, four successful Kickstarters in a row does argue that I’m doing something right. And maybe I should start thinking about putting together a presentation, for like cons and stuff.
I dunno, though. I’m not sure how successful you have to be to usefully pontificate about this topic. And whether there’d even be enough interest to justify the effort. Thoughts?

*1 sanderson = $30,000,000, so one microsanderson = 30,000,000/1,000,000 = $30. Technically it’d be 86.3 microsandersons, but who’s counting?
“…And then the murders began.”
Yeah. No way this could possibly end as a blood-soaked ghostdemon outbreak.

Via @SonnyBunch, who really should understand how these things inevitably play out. Which is to say, with ghostdemon outbreaks and a lot of people screaming.
THE ESOTERRORISTS Bundle of Holding.
I’m not in on this because I already have all of THE ESOTERRORISTS, which is Pelgrane Press’s innovative GUMSHOE game of investigating occult horrors and opposing the vilest of cults. Actually, let me check… yup. Got all of them. Well, except for the music. I usually don’t get the soundtracks.
Anyway, this is a good game that thinks about how sensible secret societies fighting vicious terrors might go about making sure their operatives remain sane, discreet, and effective. One does not ‘cowboy’ an Esoterrorist mission, in other words. Or, at least, one does not do so twice. I recommend picking up this Bundle of Holding.
Tweet of the Day, This Is Why Time Travelers Always Loot The Bodies edition.
Even if the clothes they came with were meticulously researched. They were also signed out, and God help you if you bring ’em back too damaged. Also: I dunno if I would make this a feature of a time travel show, but an episode of it would absolutely bring the comedy.

Today is the LAST DAY of my TINSEL RAIN fantasy novel Kickstarter!
We’ve admittedly got a slog to get to the audiobook level, but the TINSEL RAIN Kickstarter has been a marked success. It’s certainly given me some flexibility for the rest of the year.
But there’s still a day left! So sign up today to get the extra short stories stretch goal! I don’t know when these post-apocalyptic science horror stories are ever getting published, so now is the time to grab them!
