The Cleverly Sustainable WYRMWOOD: APOCALYPSE trailer.

Let us be clear-eyed about this: WYRMWOOD: APOCALYPSE will very likely suck. Most zombie films do*. But I am legit impressed with the recycling potential to be found in ambulatory post-mortem entities. It’s always nice to see something innovative in cinema.

*Although apparently WYMWOOD: ROAD OF THE DEAD did not.

Happy birthday to me!

Nothing planned for today, because schedules. The birthday bar visit was last Saturday, and cake tomorrow because bespoke cakes take time to make. So no worries on either front.

As to what to get me for my birthday, well, that’s easy: buy one of my books. It’s the kind of gift where we both benefit! Besides, depending on what you buy it’ll be cheaper than a card.

So, I will have a table at Balticon 56.

Balticon 56 will be from May 27-30th, at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in (shocker) Baltimore, MD. I expect I’ll be setting up the 28th; still haven’t worked out whether I’ll be staying at the hotel those two days. It’s not very far from home, after all. Cheaper, too.

Will TINSEL RAIN be ready by then? I… dunno. It’ll definitely be ready for FrightReads, but that’s a much smaller venue: but since I was originally expecting the book not to be ready until the end of the year, even having it almost ready in May would be a win. There’ll be other conventions, surely.

Tweet of the Day, EPIC GIGA-TROLL UNLOCKED edition.

I did not think that anything would make me laugh about the Oscars.

I was wrong.

Dear Lord, but I hope that grated on the room’s collective soul.

VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE SECOND INQUISITION PDF now available.

H/T: GeekTyrant. The print version of VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE SECOND INQUISITION isn’t available yet, but Modiphius has released the PDF for it. And third-party vendors too, I guess: at least, I ordered mine through Renegade Game Studios and I’ve downloaded and am reading the PDF right now.

I’ve wanted this one for a while. SECOND INQUISITION is not for playing vampire-hunters in the World of Darkness; if you want that, go play NIGHT’S BLACK AGENTS*. Which you should do anyway, because it’s a cool game. And as I’m sure Ken Hite would readily tell you, too.

Patreon Microfiction: Manifesto of the Urban Druid.

100WS-Manifesto of the Urban DruidDownload

Personally, if there were druids, then the protagonist of ‘Manifesto of the Urban Druid’ would be perfectly perfect. ‘Nature’ is an opinion. …Well, except in cosmic horror. Which this is not.

Book of the Week: Conan – Blood of the Serpent.

SM Stirling’s Conan – Blood of the Serpent isn’t available until October. I have it on pre-order anyway. In hardcover, which should tell you how much I’m looking forward to it.

Tweet Thread of the Day, This Is A Very Good Filk Of Gilbert & Sullivan edition.

I want it understood that I hold this piece in the highest regard.

I used to have a tank brigade but now I have lost several
My fresh assaults are faltering with battleplans extemporal
I can't recover vehicles but farmers in a tractor can
It's all becoming rather reminiscent of Afghanistan

— Andrej (@AndrejNkv) March 25, 2022

My ordnance is the best but only half my missiles make it there
I would have thought by now that we would be controllers of the air
But at the rate the snipers work my time here is ephemeral
I am the very model of a Russian Major General

— Andrej (@AndrejNkv) March 25, 2022

…I just felt it needed a coda.

For my military's structure, tho' deemed fine for this adventure-y,
Was copy-pasted poorly from the 20th's Red Century.
But still in matters at the front, in operations tactical,
I am the very model of a Russian Major Gene

Holiday Weekend posting!

The holiday being my birthday, of course. Which is actually Monday, but when you have kids you don’t usually go to breweries on Mondays. Well… I guess you can? But we’re going to do the sensible thing and do the ‘Moe has some beers’ on the weekend.

Also, to be honest about it: I’m kind of burned out. Unproductive and too-busy is a darkly potent combo. Some steam release sounds appropriate. So… reduced posting this weekend! Everybody go get a beverage.
