In the Mail: GURPS GIRL GENIUS.
I said it best on Twitter, really:

My copy of GURPS GIRL GENIUS was printed in Belgium, too, which was a relief. And I hate that this has to be a consideration, these days. It should be fully available in a few days. But I get it now!

‘Sabotage.’
Can’t remember if I did this this year, but ZOMG I FORGOT TO ADD THIS. And it works as a meta joke on two levels!
TINSEL RAIN Edits: Chapter 19.
Only one chapter, because I had to add some details to a particular character to make her work better. Well, I didn’t have to, but my editor made the suggestion and when she pointed it out to me I decided I agreed. Which is how about 90% of these suggestions go. Maybe 95%. I’m not really prone to temper tantrums over the inviolability of my deathless prose.
Still have two more from the current batch to do, then I just need to get the last three and the epilogue. Already have the book cover percolating away… shoot. I’m about to publish another novel! Huh.

You should see the other guy.
Patreon!“I’m sorry, Angel Vadriel,” the Throne told me at the observation post. “Your spare body was misfiled.”
Both Heaven and Hell maintain observation posts on the mortal plane of existence, ostensibly to keep an eye on each other but really to facilitate the transfer of select resources to our own planes of existence. Demons do so love their addictive substances — and, to be honest about it, so do angels. It’s just that being addicted to music or poetry is much easier on ourselves and others than either alcohol or cocaine.
We also use the posts to communicate more easily with our homes, which is why I was calling up to have my spare body prepared. Only it wasn’t there. Given that the current one I was in had a pronounced limp, a slowly-inflating chest, and an extremely loose head, I was not pleased to get this news.
Christopher Walken to be Emperor Shaddam IV for DUNE PART TWO.
…Yeah.
Denis Villeneuve is adding another high-profile talent to an already-loaded cast as sources tell Deadline Christopher Walken is set to play the Emperor in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s Dune: Part Two. Walken joins the all-star ensemble that includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin, who are expected to reprise their roles, as well Florence Pugh and Austin Butler, who were also recently announced. Villeneuve is back to write, direct and produce.
I’m not saying no. I’m just saying, ‘Huh.’ Because that’ll be something to see. And probably all too short.

WALK WITHOUT RHYTHM, AND IT WON’T ATTRACT THE WORM.
The ‘Great. My kid may want to watch this’ RESIDENT EVIL Netflix trailer.
I’m not sure if I want him to. I mean, he’s only fifteen.
…what? No, it’s not that he’s too young to play gory video games. The kid’s got a half-dozen of the Resident Evil games already, because he likes horror video games and his grades are fine. No, it’s that fifteen is too young to learn that movies made from one of your favorite video games default to sucking. I’d like him to remain emotionally ignorant of that unfortunate truth for a little while longer.

Tweet of the Day, SWARM Activated edition.
Based on the video, you’d almost think these most excellent citizens had to do this every day.
INCREDIBLE MOMENT: Boynton Beach police sent this video out in the hopes to honor the people who got out of the car to help the woman who had a medical episode while driving. https://t.co/5XDUhTg570 pic.twitter.com/2o6G9d6MJP

‘Going Back to Cali.’
I kinda feel that, when I’m working on this book series.
New episodes of MST3K. With Joel.
As Mystery Science Theater 3000 returns for its 13th season, the Mads – Kinga Forrester (Felicia Day), loyal henchman Max (Patton Oswalt), and grandmother Pearl Forrester (Mary Jo Pehl) – introduce the show’s biggest, maddest experiment yet!
For the first time, not one, but three humans will be subjected to the bittersweet agony of watching the world’s cheesiest movies, as returning test subject Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray) shares hosting duties with the newest kidnapped Gizmonic technician, Emily Connor (Emily Marsh) and original host Joel Robinson (show creator Joel Hodgson).
Although I’m still trying to decide if I want to spend the money I’d need to, just to watch this one thing.
TINSEL RAIN Update: Chapters 17 and 18 edited.
I actually have edits for all the way up to Chapter 21 (there are 24 chapters in all, and an Epilogue), but I’m going to do the other three tomorrow. We’re at the stage of the book where I need to do more than just confirm copy-editing changes*, and that slows down the process. Still, TINSEL RAIN is very close to being edited!
Which is awesome. And also about to give me a lot more work, of the not entirely fun variety. But mostly awesome.

PS: Pre-order store.
*Mostly observations about how a particular section should be tightened up, or how a character’s motivation isn’t completely ringing true. But I am getting a flattering lack of This book is terrible, and should be launched into the Sun, so I am not finding the feedback oppressive.
