‘The Song Remains The Same.’
The last days of the ALTER EGO Kickstarter.
I like the look of ALTER EGO (or THE DARING DOUBLE LIFE OF ACE ADAMS). Pretty much literally: it’s a cheerfully retro superhero comic, complete with a 1950s aesthetic and style. It’s funded, but every little bit helps, right?
Anyway, two days to go!
Taxes. Yay.
But done, thank God. And a vivid reminder of how nice it’d be if we could do all of this on a postcard. Computers help a lot, but this stuff is danged recondite.
In only mildly tangential news: buy my books! Kickstarters are great for seed capital, but book sales are where the steady income comes in.
Off with the kids to see the SONIC 2 movie!
I wasn’t really going to bother reviewing SONIC 2: if it’s anything than what I’m expecting – a pretty good kid-friendly sequel to a pretty good kid’s video game action movie – then it’s gonna be a surprise to me. And to my kids, too. They know what they want, and they expect to get it.
As the above suggests, SONIC 2 is not on my list to see on my own. But that’s okay. I plan to get my soda, get my Raisenettes, and drift off to a happy state of half-napdom.

‘Let It Go.’
The Kingdom Hearts 4 Reveal trailer.
This should please my eldest. Or was it my wife who liked the earlier ones? I can’t remember, and everybody else is asleep now.

Yeeeeah I don’t know if there’s gonna be a MORBIUS sequel.
The movie is currently bombing. We’ll get Morbius showing up in a future Spider-Man flick, but… “Adria Arjona teased Martine Bancroft’s role in Morbius’ potential sequel now that [SPOILER*].” …let’s just say that the secondary characters don’t have a very good chance of ever being seen again.
Which is a shame. There was eighty percent of a good movie in there. They just needed to get the hero and villain set up with the same incident, preferably in the first ten minutes of the film, then used all that time saved to make the love interest really creepy-obsessed with vampires. And they should’ve ditched the post-credit scenes, too. People felt they made no sense, and people knew what they were talking about.

*SPOILER because I didn’t realize that event was what happened until the article told me, and I watched the damned movie.

My mini-review of EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.
Short version: wow that was good
Slightly longer version: EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE is yet another goddamn spectacular A24 movie. It’s not a martial arts action flick, despite the fact that quite a lot of it involves martial arts, and action. It’s like… well. It’s sort of like an arthouse film, only good. I almost can’t wait to see what pieces of junk get the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director next year instead.
Why? Because Hollywood doesn’t like it when you make movies that are too good. They raise awkward questions, like: Why aren’t you guys making stuff like this, too? But that’s a rant for a different day. Go ahead and see EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. It Does Not Suck.
‘Going in the Record.’
‘Going in the Record’ is even worse than you think. It didn’t just grab everything you’ve ever posted. Oh, no. It also grabbed everything you wrote, but then deleted before hitting ‘Send.’
