Shock and Amazonment: 3rd edition GURPS supplements that I don’t have!
GURPS CONAN THE WYRMSLAYER, GURPS CONAN AND THE QUEEN OF THE BLACK COAST, and GURPS CONAN: MOON OF BLOOD. All of which were available for considerably less than usual, he said after getting the order confirmation email. I really need to go through my GURPS collection and get it properly sorted, though. It took far too long to make sure I didn’t actually have these books already.
Admittedly, usually I can assume that I do.

We *may* be getting a cat tomorrow.
My wife and eldest are to travel to see the cat, see if the cat is acceptable, and see whether we are acceptable to the cat. It would be nice to have a cat around the place again, honestly. Although I’ll have to go back to regularly dosing myself with magical Tablets of Allergy Negation* again.
We’re still trying to decide whether or not to rename the cat. I’m kind of favoring ‘Kadath,’ because Lovecraft, but I’m not the only one who gets a vote. For that matter, the cat might actually answer to the original name. Guess we’ll see…

05/14/22 Snippet, HERO OF THE REVOLUTION.
Monsters!
Patreon! The knee and lungs had sorted themselves out by the time I got a reply. Which isn’t as bad as it sounds: the bodies we use on Earth generally bounce back fast. You can even get pieces to reattach, although there’s always going to be a little seam afterward. Made angel-demon battles from the old days real fun to clean up afterward, let me tell you.
And it was just as well. “They report your first body was assigned to a Virtue on monster duty. Immolated during an assault on a krasue swarm.”
“Immolated? From what? Explosive fangs?”
“No,” said the Throne as she accessed the congealed thought-pearl we use to send information to Earth. “C-4. The Virtue decided the best way to reduce the nest was to run inside it with an explosive vest.”
The LAND SHARK trailer.
Normally I wouldn’t. But Kevin Kulp (of TIMEWATCH and THE SWORDS OF THE SERPENTINE RPGs) is the most knowledgeable connoisseur of bad shark movies I know…
…and apparently LAND SHARK is the business. As long as you don’t understand the dialogue, at least.
Ever wonder why I love crappy shark movies? THIS is why I love crappy shark movies. We've already seen this in Chinese (making up our own dialogue), and it came in #13/126. Now it's coming out in English! #SharkRankinghttps://t.co/fd3o8zH6vZ

Book of the Week: Captain Trader Helmsman Spy (Fall of the Censor Book 4)
Karl Gallagher’s latest book in his Fall of the Censor space opera series (Captain Trader Helmsman Spy) is out! Haven’t gotten a chance to crack it open yet, but that’s not Karl’s fault. Looking forward to reading it… and looking forward to the actual Fall of the Censorate, too. But that will likely take some time.

RIP, Fred Ward.
It will come to no surprise to anyone that Tom Vargas owes a Hell of a lot to H. Philip Lovecraft, and CAST A DEADLY SPELL. And then there was TREMORS, which is one the greatest Atomic Horror flicks of all time and I will fight anybody in this bar who dares besmirch its good name. And, oh yeah, there was that flick THE RIGHT STUFF. That Fred Ward, he was a good guy to see, up there on the big screen. My condolences to his family and loved ones*.

TINSEL RAIN Update: Chapters 20-23 edited.
One chapter left! And the Epilogue. After that, I just have to write a bunch of introductions, dedications, and so forth – assuming that we don’t do another pass on TINSEL RAIN. Not sure. It’d definitely go more quickly, this time.
As for publication schedule: Kickstarter backers get the digital version first. Once those are distributed, TINSEL RAIN will go to KDP, and we’ll start the process of publishing the KU and paperback versions. Not in time for Balticon, alas. Such is life; and, honestly, we are way ahead of our planned publication schedule anyway. I need to remind myself of that.
Movie of the Week: OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL.
I thought I’d give OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL a whirl, seeing as it’s a Sam Raimi flick that I actually haven’t seen. Not sure why, really. Probably because it was called OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL.
