06/02/22 Snippet, BUZZ ON THE STREETS.
This is going to be a short story! I finally figured out the meaning of the title, and it should work out fine. Plus, I need Remy and Lucas back for the next novel anyway.
Patreon!I knew something was up even before I got to the coroner’s lab. Somebody had drawn weird sigils on the walls, using their fingers and what I hoped was just dirt. There was also a mesh of silver wires laid across each doorway — and, scariest of all, a half dozen Christian crucifixes, each angled to cover as much of the room as possible. The sight of them made me check for my gun. You don’t break out the crosses unless something seriously evil was up and about.
What? No, I got no beef with the Christian God. His people are the best in the business when it comes to putting down demons and Undead. I’m just, you know, gainfully employed elsewhere.
“Hey, Remy?” I called out as I advanced towards her office. “Should I be running in, or staying put?”
“Oh, hey, Tom.” She sounded promisingly unpanicked, which was a good sign. “Come on in. Just don’t bring any abominations along with you.”
Reminder: review your favorite authors!
I got reminded today that ratings and reviews of books on Amazon and/or Goodreads help the authors being reviewed. Obviously, only review it if you’ve read it. But breaking through is tough for authors, and every little bit helps.
Note, as always: I don’t just mean me*. You should be reviewing the authors you like, even if you’re reading this article from a place of disdain and spite. There must be somebody in the authorial world who’d you want to do a favor for, surely?

KOTOR II coming to Switch… with the Restored Content DLC.
Not ‘a’ Restored Content DLC, apparently. The Restored Content DLC:
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is heading to Nintendo Switch, with a “Restored Content” expansion planned to follow.
…
The promise of an official Restored Content DLC, however, is more tantalizing to series fans. When the original game was released in 2004 after only a year of development, some of its content was hastily removed from the main game and left within its files. That missing content has since been tweaked, polished, and collected by fans into the much-loved Restored Content mod, adding the missing features back into the game.
If this really is what we’d be getting… I might have to get this game for the Switch. It’s the responsible thing for me to do as a father, after all. It is very important that my children encounter the proper version of one of the greatest videogame RPGS of all time.

Time to finish proofing TINSEL RAIN!
I got started proofing TINSEL RAIN during Balticon, but I couldn’t spend any time on it. My plan tomorrow and Friday is to spend time on it. And, once it’s done, I can finally hit publish on the paperback and we can start the next step. Huzzah!
Yeah, not exciting, I know. First of the month is always kind of slow for me. I’ve got the whole month to get stuff done, you see. Even though that’s a mirage.

The Advocatur Seeger, Frick & Partner law firm of Liechtenstein: steady, and chill.
A little background: a bit back this Tweet made the rounds.
This is by far the funniest law book out there pic.twitter.com/zWYOAsMIOM

Well. Now I need a copy, obviously. So I emailed Advocatur Seeger, Frick & Partner AG to find out if they had any more copies of Liechtenstein Maritime Law, and they have just emailed me back! They’re printing more copies, and will send them out, but I’ll likely have to pay shipping. I’ve already replied, letting them know that I have no problem paying at list the per-book printing cost (you get sensitive to that, when you self-publish), so my actually getting this is looking like it might be possible.
They have also hinted that they’d be happy to take my business, should I ever require the services of a Liechtenstein-based law firm. I genuinely respect that: it’s the kind of respectful and proactive hustling that I’d actually want to see in a prospective law firm. Always be closing, right?
June is here! Huzzah!
June is my favorite month. Hot, but not crazy-stupid-hot. Well, today is gonna be crazy-stupid-hot, but the rest of the week is gonna be in the low eighties. Which is my idea of good, summer weather. Plus, everything green is still fresh. Plenty of sunshine, too.
Now I just gotta plot out my schedule for the month. Need to check off some projects…

‘Spanish Ladies.’
The ‘So, how did you solve the Uncanny Valley problem?’ live-action PINOCCHIO trailer.
It’s fascinating. I’m not entirely certain they showed Pinocchio moving at any point during this trailer. Maybe he’s in that crowd of kids about to go down the down-plank. Maybe.
Gotta wonder why there’s no scenes of the golem carved to resemble a human boy moving around the town – no, wait, I know why. It’s because they made that movie already, and it was called EDWARD SCISSORHANDS. …And no, I don’t know why this particular live-action adaptation is making me salty. It’s just a movie, right?
