‘What’s Up?’

Blame @EsotericCD. Or maybe just my generally frazzled state. Things are squared away for tomorrow, but still. I’m pretty much checked out at this point.

Or watch this. This is better.

The ANDOR teaser trailer.

Ain’t gonna lie: ROGUE ONE is my favorite movie of the new bunch of Star Wars movies. Which is not a hard bar to clear, but I thought it was legitimately good. And surprisingly resistant to being Disneyfied*. I’m inclined to see what ANDOR does with itself.

*There’s just something entertaining about the way that the production crew expected the Mouse to come in and point out the logical implications of the plot, and its rather dramatic effect on possible sequels. But the Mouse never did. One must treasure these brief, shining moments of artistic integrity, in an uncaring world.

The TINSEL RAIN proof is in!

I’ll be going over it this weekend, I suspect. Good visual advertising while doing Balticon, now that I think of it. “Oh, yeah, I’m publishing another book. TINSEL RAIN: and, say, here’s the QR code for the Kindle…

Today is shaping up to be a real dumpster fire.

Mostly involving sudden scheduling crunches. I may just declare the weekend early. it’s been that kind of week…

Working on this backdrop.

Aside from the most obvious point: the curtains are the wrong color. They are, however, what I have to work with. My wife’s already suggested not using all the straps and safety-pinning the extras, too. Which will make the final version a lot less sloppy-looking.

Even as is, it’s worth it to get the sign off of the table, honestly.

Balticon in two days!

I’ll be there Friday afternoon, and selling books until Monday. While at the same time day-tripping it, because Balticon is only twenty five minutes away via car. I may amend that Sunday night, depending on how beat I’ll be by then. It’s just that the hotel room is around $150/night, and the combination of proximity to the venue and ease of getting there is just too hard to overcome.

Oh, well. I’m going there pretty much to sell books anyway. I’m going to have a link to TINSEL RAIN printed out and framed so that people can order the book while at the convention; the paperback is going to have to wait until I finish the proofs (I don’t think it’ll be ready for Galactic-Con, either). But I definitely will have the book before the Kickstarter deadline, which is the important thing…

PS: I am looking for more Maryland conventions; so if you know of any, let me know.

This one simple trick will make authors love you forever!

If you like their books, say so! Like, on social media and stuff. For example: TINSEL RAIN is coming out Friday. If you’re a Kickstarter backer, and you liked the book, there is almost nothing better you can do for me right now than say so on as many of your favorite social media platforms as you care to post to. With the link (https://www.amazon.com/Tinsel-Rain-To...), and a picture of the book, if you can swing it.

And here’s the thing: if you don’t like my book, you can still do this with books that you do like. It is a very rare author indeed who will object to people saying in public how awesome their book is, and what the link is to buy it. So, even if you hate my guts, the advice I’m giving is still good.

It is the Glorious 25th of May.

A day long-remembered in Discworld history.

All the little angels rise up, rise up.
All the little angels rise up high!
How do they rise up, rise up, rise up?
How do they rise up, rise up high?
They rise heads up, heads up, heads up, they rise heads up, heads up high!

The TORG ETERNITY: PAN PACIFICA Kickstarter.

Come, I will conceal nothing from you: I cannot afford to get into TORG ETERNITY. It’s not that any one source book is expensive, but there’s a lot of them, and I’m not going to be playing TORG any time soon*. But the Pan Pacifica Kickstarter looks real neat, if you have the disposable income.

*That ten-buck preorder of TORG ETERNITY: ORRORSH looks like a steal, thoug… No! NO! That’s exactly how they reel you in. Be strong, Moe! Be strong!
