Shaenon and Jeff aren’t using Kickstarter for crowdfunding their final two Skin Horse books, because of (I believe) Kickstarter’s weirdness about pushing crypto. I can’t say that I blame them, either. If it becomes an issue later I may stop using Kickstarter myself.
At any rate: last two volumes of Skin Horse! Very sad. But all good things must come to an end, alas.

Still sick! Colds suck.
Well, it ain’t Covid, ain’t strep throat, probably not a sinus infection, and definitely isn’t an allergy attack. A cold is about the only thing left. So: taking it easy, drinking plenty of fluids, and hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow. Maybe I can go see TOP GUN: MAVERICK Wednesday…

Book of the Week: Rich Man’s Sky.
It is the book loaded in my Kindle, and I am not feeling particularly up to making choices*, so I’m just going to read it until it’s time to go to bed. Wil McCarthy’s Rich Man’s Sky is perfectly good anyway. Twenty years in the future, intrigue in space, etc etc etc. Don’t mind me; I’m on Robutussin right now.
*Yup, still sick. Drinking fluids and eating matzoh.

Well, at least it’s not Covid.
But it’s definitely a sore throat, which means it’s likely a summer cold. Those definitely suck. I’m gonna go to bed early, and not go to see Top Gun tomorrow. Alas.

I need a good resource for skin-stealer legends.
Specifically: monsters that steal people’s skins and wear them as disguises. I know of a couple examples from folklore, but I could use a few more. I was gonna say, ‘the more disgusting, the better’ – but that’s already baked into the request, isn’t it?

I had forgotten a minor problem with print proofing: to wit, it’s sooooooo borrrrrrrrring. I wonder if anybody’s ever done a survey to see when authors just, you know… give up. It’s probably fine, the whispers say. How many errors can there be, really? And who even cares?
And never mind the host of Post-it notes I’ve already accumulated…
