‘Bodies.’

I just love prepping books for digital sale.

Digital downloads have started for the Fermi Resolution Worldbook!

Art, standard-sized digital copy, and a full-sized digital copy for people with the space for it. You should be getting emails for those now; let me know if there are any problems. Also, the pre-order store is now closed. If you want a copy of the Fermi Resolution Worldbook, check it out at DriveThruRPG.

This was a loonnnnnnng step forward today, folks. Next up: beating the print proofs into submissions. …Tomorrow.

Trying to decide how big to make the digital copy of the Fermi Resolution Worldbook.

It’s like this. I’ve optimized the size of the digital version from 53.5 MB down to either 9 MB or 5 MB, depending on how severely I optimize it. Either looks fine on my own machine, but I’m not sure which is the better option. Anybody with an opinion?

‘Will You Go, Lassie Go?’

It’s actually ‘Wild Mountain Thyme,’ but never mind that right now. All I know is, when they started playing this in the movie I was very quickly singing along. I mean, softly, because there were a bunch of other people in the audience for once, but I honestly don’t think anybody minded. The soundtrack in general was pure fire. Heck, I’m listening to it right now.

‘Kickstarter Math Is Weird.’

I was putting out the link again to Marian Call’s Kickstarter Math Is Weird, which has been incredibly useful to me in my own crowdfunding. So let me put it up here again. If you are thinking of doing your own projects, you should check this post out. Particularly if you don’t normally think in terms of money… because when it comes to independent publishing and artistry, you absolutely must learn to think in terms of money. This article has kept me out of so much trouble, over the years.

So, I just had a moment of raw horrified terror on the movie front.

For one terrifying second I thought that they had made a sequel to AIRPLANE!… starring Tom Arnold. But it turns out it’s just Asylum doing a ripoff. I don’t really recommend clicking that second link, by the way. It will just make you nostalgic for the waning days of the Twentieth Century, when they knew how to properly make T&A flicks…

My mini-review of SINNERS.

Short version: …my God.

Slightly longer version: in even a somewhat unjust universe, SINNERS will be on the Oscar shortlist for Best Picture, Best Director, and various permutations of Best Actor/Actress/Supporting Whatever. If it doesn’t get any of those, then Hollywood is even worse than we think it is. The film is more than you think it is. A lot more. I won’t spoil it for you, but let me put it this way: I already went and bought the soundtrack, and so should you.

IOW, this is my favorite movie of the year now, and I don’t expect anything to dethrone it. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong, but I won’t be.

04/21/2025 Snippet, THE ICE AWAITS.

I can make this work for Unfiltered.

I knew Europa was gonna be cold, but I never figured it to be so heavy. I thought all the moons out here would be weak enough to let me fly like the earthworms or marvins did, back home. Nope. Best I can do here is bounce.

Just like it was at home.

No bouncing on the job, though. When you’re working for Salmaria Corp, they make you shuffle. Safety first! The thought makes me laugh as I muscle a couple of tons’ worth of reinforced flexpipe to the slurry tank. One good saltwater leak-and-spray, and it won’t matter how good my insulation is…

Not that there was a leak. There never is. This isn’t the old days.

Pope Francis has passed.

I have the same response as my old friend.
