Coming soon: the CBR+PNK: OVERLOAD Kickstarter.
CBR+PNK: OVERLOAD is a “three-pack of thrilling scenarios and supplements for CBR+PNK, the award-winning portable cyberpunk TTRPG, Forged in the Dark.” A buddy of mine was in on the project, and the game itself looks interesting (here for digital+print, here for digital only). Seems well-suited for convention games.

Video of the Day, It Just Keeps Getting Better edition.
I don’t know if this is real or not, but it’s still hysterical, in an I’m-going-to-Hell-for-laughing way.
Movie of the Week: SINNERS.

Not coming out for another month, alas. But if you can still catch SINNERS in theaters and you don’t, seriously go see it. I don’t think I’m going to enjoy another movie this year as much as I enjoyed this one.

PS: They’re apparently talking sequel. Unfortunately, they may not be talking ‘Ryan Coogler,’ which would be… stupid.

The ‘What is this, really?’ M3GAN 2.0 trailer.
Aside from weird. M3GAN 2.0 is definitely gonna be weird. Not to mention extremely gory… neither of which is necessarily a deal-breaker. Whether it’s gonna be any good is something I’ll let my eldest answer, because they probably made it for people his age.
06/02/2025 Snippet, IN THE HALLS OF THE LILY KING.
Let’s get back to this.
…
One of the things Waylon disliked most about Holy Quebec was the unnatural regularity of its streets. Unlike most places, the Imperial Republic actually tried to keep to the old, pre-Discovery grid pattern, even when there was no point to it. The oldest parts of the city were the most sensible, but even then the streets were still unnaturally wide. At least by Kentucky standards; this Miss Serenity was taking it all in stride.
Waylon also wondered if he would ever get used to how warm Holy Quebec was, or the red glow to the northeast from the Balise de Feu. He wasn’t worried about it, exactly. If the volcano hadn’t blown its stack in seven hundred years, it probably wouldn’t in the next five years. But it made getting through the nightly fog a fantastical mess. You could see figures in it, but damn your eyes if you could ever figure out who they were.
Or what. “Are we being followed?” he asked Serenity, careful not to whisper. Sound also traveled oddly in the fog.
“This is Holy Quebec,” she replied, in the same carefully pitched tones. “I am always being followed. You?”
“Heh. One night in every five, I’d say. Used to be one in three, before that War of yours started. Guess there’s more money in snooping on spies and diplomats.”

As is traditional for the first of the month…
…I did nothing in particular today. Oh, sure, I grilled burgers and hotdogs out back. But nothing weighty. I’m usually rushing around with deadlines at the end of the month, so I never want to do anything and I know it.
But this month I do need to get BANSHEE BEACH under control. It’s overdue. I also need to figure out how to get the audiobook of TINSEL RAIN paid for. I had my Ko-Fi project along those lines kicked into, so I’m on the hook now. Plus I still have a couple of other things that absolutely should get done, like, this week. No more excuses, Moe. Get stuff done.
Patreon Microfiction: Silent Skies.
Yes, there is a novel about the Great Wyrm of Philadelphia in there, somewhere. No, I have no idea when it’s coming out. ‘Silent Skies’ at least explains why they don’t have radio.

The Guillermo del Toro FRANKENSTEIN trailer.
:grinning like a loon intensifies:
Assuming the movie is even better than the trailer, Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN is going to absolutely slap.
Book of the Week: The Summer War.

So apparently I’m just in this state where I pre-order upcoming Naomi Novik books when I see them, and then forget that I did. Either that, or the weakly godlike AI that secretly runs Amazon said, Hmm. Moe will be ordering The Summer War anyway, so I might as well do that for him. If it’s the latter, well… thank you, weakly godlike AI. When you’re right, you’re right.
