In 2023, Kelrick made a pledge to only read books with queer content for the entire year. He now produces and hosts the Read to Filth podcast where he interviews authors and shares his thoughts on the books he’s read, including T...

Just seven days until the release of the Death in Douglas Glade (The Milverton Mysteries #3) audiobook!

Audiobook out next week. Death in Douglas Glade by G. B. Ralph. Read by Philip Battley. Audiobook cover design and narrator mug shot.

Phillip Battley is the brilliant audiobook narrator who read the first two Milverton Mysteries and he’s back for the third! I’m excited to hear it for myself, but for now we can enjoy a short excerpt and peek behind the curtains in a video from Philip himself:

2025 SJV Awards finalists announced

“The Sand Witch’s Sandwich” is a finalist for Best Short Story in the Sir Julius Vogel Awards (New Zealand’s science fiction and fantasy awards)!

I’m so grateful to everyone who nominated my short story for the SJV Awards, and so pleased to see it making the shortlist.

Next up will be judging and “the awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held later in the year”. So, presumably still plenty of time to go. An exciting update nonetheless!

I’ve taken a screenshot of the Best Sho...

Konnichiwa to my first translated work

Whaaat? I know, right?

Late last year I was approached by a representative from a Japanese literary zine called LETTERS UNBOUND, enquiring about my short story published in The Law of Consequences fantasy anthology.

I am so chuffed this story will be reaching readers I never imagined it could. And I’m sure Ellie would be pleased...

Oh, how nice that sounds… Or maybe not! I spotted this line in a recent reader review of Death in Douglas Glade regarding The Milverton Mysteries in general.

A few more stand-out lines from the review:

“Are the Milverton Mysteries the perfect cosy series? It’s well up there.”“Time spent with this series is like hanging out with good friends.”“Addison – normally a chaos-magnet – manages to out-awkward even himself when, finally on a date with the local hot police sergeant, he stumb...
