I’ve pulled together some of my notes and photos from the weekend…

Saturday 10 May 2025

Our first day involved an early start and driving over the hill. We had a quick pitstop for coffee and cheese scones in Greytown, then split up for our various morning sessions around Featherston.

My first session was ‘Going Coastal’ with Damien Wilkins, Mandy Hage...

Felonies in Feilding (Mystery in the Library 2025 event)

Fantastic night with this bunch of felons in Feilding! The Bookshop Detectives, Bing Turkby, and Patricia Dunmore chatted crime, character, research, plotting, and how they take something from just an idea to a fully fledged novel. Great fun!

If you missed out tonight, we’ll be doing another Ngaio Marsh Awards ‘Mystery in the Library’ event tomorrow night in Palmerston North! And this time I’ll be up the front with four other brilliant authors.

Over 100 turnout for Riverside Wrongdoings at Whanganui Library

Riverside Wrongdoings was a brilliant event last night in Whanganui! I had a wonderful time with my fellow authors / accomplices Charity Norman, Cynric Temple-Camp, and Stephen Johnson.

Authors Charity Norman, Cynric Temple-Camp, G. B. Ralph, and Stephen Johnson standing in front of a seated audience at the Whanganui Library.

And what a turnout! So many readers that we had to switch to a bigger space at the library and then keep bringing more chairs out. It was amazing to see and I’m so grateful to everyone who joined us!

A seated audience at the Whanganui Library.

The event is part of the Mystery in the Library series which is running in the lead up to the Ngaio ...

Event: 2025 Mystery in the Library, Whanganui

The time is almost upon us! Tomorrow evening I’ll be be joining a truly disreputable bunch of wrongdoers – Charity Norman, Cynric Temple-Camp, and Stephen Johnson – on an author panel in Whanganui.

The event is part of the Mystery in the Library series being held across the motu in the build up to the Ngaio Marsh Awards later in the year. Each will feature a panel of local authors discussing crime, mystery, writing, publishing, and plenty more I’m sure. You can read more about this event in t...
