Launch Party and Bonded Fate Sneak Peek!
How was your fourth of July weekend? Mine was a nice little break from work, but now I am back and racing to get everything ready for the release of Bonded Fate. It’s less than a month away!
I have so many fun things planned for you. There will be several giveaways on Instagram starting July 7th and will continue throughout the month of August! Come join the The Guardians of the Maiden reader group on Facebook for Bonded Fate’s release day party, and have a chance to win signed copies and exclusive swag.
If you missed the news, I did a limited restock of the Starlight and Sunlight mini boxes. The Starlight minis sold out within an hour. Which was absolutely remarkable! Thank you so much for your support. I have a few of the Sunlight & Wishes mini boxes left and they will be loaded with art.

Shipping Updates:
Single orders of the Moonlight & Dreams boxes have started shipping.
Starlight & Wonder mini boxes will begin shipping within the next two weeks in batches every Friday.
Upgrade and Complete boxes are waiting on the pins. They are projected to ship at the end of the July. We’ll add in a freebie for the delay.
Restock pre-orders will ship at the end of July or the first week of August after all the initial pre-orders are sent out.
Please note, if you pre-ordered boxes together, they will ship together. For example, if you ordered both the Starlight and Sunlight box, both boxes would ship in September when the Sunlight box is released.
I am so excited to share Bonded Fate with you. Honestly, I am very nervous like a kid before a project presentation. Many late nights and love went into my newest book baby. I can only hope you will enjoy it as much as the first one.

“If you would like a distraction, I thought I might offer a new lesson,” Cassiel said.
His eyes roved over her face, taking in the tension of her brow and the firm set of her lips. Wherever he looked, Dyna felt the featherlight impression of his touch, exploring her the way he’d done on the cliff.
“A knife and bow are but tools—the true weapon is the one who wields them.” Cassiel removed a knife from his boot and flipped it in his hand, presenting it to her hilt first.
The black handle shone with an iridescent swirl of blue and green, the sunlight gracing the beautifully etched design on the blade. He held her gaze, his silver eyes full of grueling promises and something unknown that should have frightened her, but Dyna’s pulse rushed with nervous anticipation, wanting whatever he was offering. The corner of Cassiel’s mouth curled in a subtle smirk that scattered her thoughts as it had the first time she’d seen it.
“If you wish to learn how to fight, then brace yourself, Dynalya,” he said, his voice low and dark. “For when I’m finished, you will know exactly where and how to cut.”
The way he looked at her sent a rush of thrill along her skin. “You’ll teach me?”
“Is that not what you asked?”
It was. Though she’d half expected him to change his mind.
Dyna carefully accepted the knife and glanced at the trees. “Zev will not approve.”
“I have already spoken to him. I’m merely teaching you with the purpose of defense, not how to kill.”
Zev was worried about that? She couldn’t imagine ever killing someone.
Cassiel reached in his coat and removed a thin leather belt. From it dangled an empty sheath. “This is yours.”
He took a step, then hesitated, waiting for her reaction. When she didn’t move, his arms came around her waist and she held her breath. A tremble sank through her spine and her chest tightened with the conflicting need to escape him—or to get closer.
But he was careful, barely touching her as he fastened the belt on her waist.
Once it was buckled in place, with the sheath laying on her hip, Cassiel stepped back and looked her over, dragging a thumb along his bottom lip. “It is certainly … becoming.”

Divine Blood Exclusive
Can you believe one year ago today I released Divine Blood into the world? And in exactly two months, Bonded Fate will make its debut. They look so beautiful together.
The Divine Blood Starlight and Wonder boxes are nearly complete so, I thought I’d give you a tiny sneak peek!
I worked with @bookish_pearl to create a Cassiel candle for the Starlight and Wonder box and a Zev candle for the Moonlight and Dreams box. Believe me when I say these smell INCREDIBLE.
Below you’ll find the exclusive edition! The first page of each chapter is inverted with a different motif to represent each character. The naked cover features the beautiful Aim for the Stars artwork by Alice Maria Power, and there is a quote from the book on the back.
My plan is for each exclusive edition in the series to have a different artist. Bonded Fate will feature artwork by Salome Totladze, and I have already commissioned another talented artist who will draw the art for book three. I may be a little obsessed with art.
As an extra surprise, we decided to upgrade the Starlight mini box from matte edges to shimmery black edges! 🤩
You will love the Divine Blood boxes we put together. The Starlight and Wonder box and the Moonlight and Dreams box will begin shipping the first week of July in batches. Please note, if you pre-ordered both Divine Blood and Bonded Fate boxes together, they will ship together between late August-September.

FAVORITE READS OF MAY
EPIC FANTASY I really enjoyed The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer Armentrout. This is the third book in the Blood and Ash series. Loved seeing Poppy grow into herself. The book started with a bang and ended with one, too.

FAVORITE READS OF MARCH
ARES by Carly Spade Carly Spade is the queen of romance. I love her books and she pulled out all the stops in Ares. The dialogue just flows so naturally and never fails to make me laugh. This one became my favorite book in the series by far, but I will probably say that about the next book too because each one keeps getting better.
We were like passing ships in the night. Each knew the other was there, but given the darkness, it was easier to pretend we didn't exist. —Ares
FATE & FLAME by Miranda Lyn I loved it! This is the third book in the Fae Rising series by Miranda Lyn, and I 100% recommend it for fantasy readers. There is action, angst and some tears were shed. Miranda killed it with this book, and she partially killed me.
I wanted to reach for her. I wanted to hold her in my arms and tell her I knew exactly how she felt. I wanted so many things I couldn’t have. We were far from happiness, but we had each other, and something about that felt right. — Fate & Flame

Favorite Reads of February
URBAN FANTASY
I have never laughed so much during reading in my life. The witty one liners and banter were perfect. Warping Minds features mages in modern day society who keep their guilds a secret from the rest of the world. If you like witty characters, action, and the slow romantic build up, Annette Marie never disappoints! Just go pick up her books ok?
EPIC FANTASY
Glint by Raven Kennedy is the second book of a King Midas retelling series, and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. I devoured book 1 and 2 in two days. The cold world. The gritty characters. The internal conflict. The angst! And that ending I was holding my breath for. Without giving too much away, if you like brooding men, fae, and slow burn romance, then go check out this series.
ADULT FANTASY
I didn't expect this book to go the way it did, but I fell in love with it, anyway. A Court of Silver Flames was about healing, forgiveness, acceptance, and finding yourself. Beautiful writing brought me to tears several times. I felt like I went on a journey with Nesta and I got to see her grow. SJM nailed it.

I’ve chosen the narrators for the audiobook, and recording has started. Ladies, the narrator who voices the male characters—OMG. Let’s just say he has a voice that I want to read to me every night. 🥵

If you didn’t notice the change on Goodreads or on my website yet, King’s Oath is getting a mini facelift. It’s the same cover, but better. Grand reveal is coming this fall. Pre-orders will go up in October and release day is December 7th!
King’s Oath is a standalone prequel to The Guardians of the Maiden series. It follows King’s Yoel as he fights to protect his people from poachers and struggles to protect his heart.

Epic Fantasy Just WOW. If you love fae, epic fantasy, and a sassy heroine who kicks ass and takes names, then this book is the one for you! Watch out for this author everyone, because I can predict it now—she's going places. Check out Blood and Honor by Miranda Lyn.
DYSTOPIAN FANTASY You've never read a dystopian novel like this one. It was sooo dark with complicated characters that pull at your heartstrings. They travel through the desolate wilderness to save the world, while indirectly saving each other. Get your copy of Mark King by Nicolette Beebe
URBAN FANTASY Looking for a light read? I got just the book! The characters come to life in this rom-com featuring your favorite mythos gods in modern day. This was such a funny and sweet. I loved it! Apollo is the second book in the Mythos series by Carley Spade.

Happy New Year!
Wow, it’s been a rough year, but that’s behind us now. 2020 is over and 2021 is here! I felt like I could finally breathe fresh air when the clock struck midnight. It’s a new year for new opportunities. How was your Christmas? We kept it small this year. I just spent the holiday at home with my husband and children.
While 2020 had its low points, some good things happened, too. It was the year I took the plunge and published Divine Blood. I knew the risk of putting it out there during a pandemic but I thought I might never publish if I didn’t. I was pleasantly surprised by readers' response; it’s been so well received beyond what I could ever imagine. I got to see Divine Blood in two book subscription boxes; I got to meet fans from all over the world, I’ve seen it climb the charts and pop up all over Instagram. I cried when my book made bestseller in three categories last month, and it’s stayed within the top five since then. I am truly living the dream and it's all thanks to you.
And because this is a newsletter, I of course have news to share. I am so excited to announce that Divine Blood will be released in audiobook form later this year! That’s been sitting on my to do list for a while now, so I am ecstatic that it’s finally coming soon. To celebrate, I’ll hold a giveaway for a copy when it comes out.

The stakes will be higher, all the Guardians will be introduced, and we will delve deeper into the workings of our main trio. I am super excited about this book and I cannot wait to share it with you. My deadline to get the first draft to my editor is coming up, that being said I’ve decided to take a mini hiatus from social media after January 18th and go deep into my writers cave to finish this book. I’ll be off Instagram and Facebook for the month but I promise I’m still here and I will be back.

I love writing and sharing my fantasy world and connecting with readers through my books. When I first wrote about Dyna and her guardian angel, I had no idea it would one day become a book loved by so many. Bonded Fate Teaser

I hope you had a wonderful weekend whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving. I spent mine with my family and it was really nice to see them all again. The year is almost over, hopefully that means good things are ahead.
Speaking of good things, Divine Blood reached best seller in three categories over the weekend! Thank you, everyone who purchased a copy and helped my book baby climb up the ranks. I may have woken up my household screaming when I saw the notification. I even ranked second place next to Holly Black, and that was truly an honor because you know how much I admire her. *happy tears*
Did you take part in NaNoWriMo this month? I did so I could buckle down on Bonded Fate. I made a schedule and weekly goals. I was on a roll too and made headway on my second book, but then life and work happened. I didn’t reach my goal, but I did write 20k words. My manuscript is up to 110k words. I am getting close to finishing the first draft before it goes to my editor in January!
I don’t want to rush this book the way I did with Divine Blood, so I want to take my time and give my readers the best books I can give. Many have asked me for the official release date, but that is still up in the air which is why Bonded Fate has not gone up for pre-order. I won’t do that until I have a release date. Right now it’s projected for December 2021, but maaaaayyyybe I’ll release in June 2021. Cross your fingers!
